Courtney's New Life Could Cost Her Jason!

She's got a new life and a whole lot of money but GENERAL HOSPITAL's Courtney may soon find out that cold hard cash ain't going to keep her warm at night, especially now that she and Jason are drifting further apart than ever!

"Courtney has finally taken a step back and said, 'I've got to look out for myself and this isn't working for me,'" explains portrayer Alicia Leigh Willis of Courtney's troubled relationship with Jason.  "He's the love of her life – but she doesn’t want to destroy herself by being with him."

There was a time when Courtney believed she could fit into the world of not only Jason, but her brother Sonny, as well.  But having been kidnapped, shot at and threatened by the likes of Faith and Alcazar, Courtney is realizing that she's not really cut out for the Mob lifestyle.  "She wants to do things the right way," says Willis.  "Now that she's running this company that puts her in the power position to stop drugs and arms from being smuggled into Port Charles, she's finally got a chance to get out of that live and start a life of her own."

And that, the actress says is exactly what Courtney desires most.  "She really wants to make something of herself.  This is her chance.  She believes in herself.  Of course, everyone else is doubting her, so that makes her want to succeed even more."

While her new job may be pulling Courtney and Jason apart, their love and concern for Michael and Morgan bring them together in a common endeavor.  "As much as she would love to take care of those kids, she knows it's not right.  Jason feels the same way."  At least they agree about that.
