GH's Jason divorces Courtney

This week, Courtney and Jason's marriage comes to an end on GH - or so it seems - when he signs the divorce papers. "Courtney loves Jason and he loves her, but neither is willing to change for the other, nor should they," explains Head Writer Charles Pratt, Jr. "The way that Sonny and Carly love each other and can't be together is personified with Jason and Courtney."

Indeed, Jason realizes that love isn't enough when Courtney betrays him by letting a handcuffed Alcazar go free, then calling the cops to prevent his murder. "For Courtney, it's a case of having no respect for the code [Jason and Sonny] live by," Pratt says. "She could put that aside, but she's smart enough to know that it will destroy their relationship if they go on much longer."

Carly unsuccessfully attempts to make Jason and Courtney accept that they belong together. And though it appears too late for the Morgans, Pratt teases that nothing is for sure when it comes to this couple. "For a good long while, the audience should be rooting for them to get back together," he grins. "It's just that we have built a wall between these two that is pretty big. They'll flirt with coming back together and get down to the nitty-gritty by asking, 'What kind of blinders do we have to wear to make a relationship work, and is it worth it?'"

Until then, look for third parties to complicate matters for both Courtney and Jason.
