Brian In, Jason Out
Courtney grows farther away from Jason and closer to Brian
this week on GH.
Hoping to get her mind off her troubled marriage, Courtney
heads to Jake's and shoots pool with Brian. "There are a few times that
Brian tries to kiss her, but Courtney backs away," previews her portrayer,
Alicia Leigh Willis. "Then she
loses a bet and has to dance with him.
When Brian's holding her, Courtney starts to think about Jason and gets
sad. She knows she should be with
Jason, even though everything is messed up."
Brian realizes he doesn’t have Courtney in his pocket, so he
does the noble think and urges her to make amends with her husband for
Christmas. Later, at dinner with Carly
and Sonny, Jason calls, but he doesn't want to talk to his wife.
"It hits Courtney hard," sighs Willis. "It’s hard enough being alone at
Christmas, but when the one person you want to spend the day with doesn’t even
want to talk to you… it's even more devastating."
Jason can't avoid Courtney forever – they have a run-in
later in the week. "Jason starts
talking about divorce and wants Courtney to call Justus," says
Willis. "He's trying to speed
things up."
So when Brian invites Courtney to the opening of Luke's
casino, she says yes. "She thinks,
'You know what? Either I can sit home and cry all night or I can go out and try
to have a good time," relates Willis.
The evening is a bust.
"Jason shows up. It's
awkward and hurtful to see him. So
Courtney and Brian leave.
Things get worse when Brian takes Courtney home and accuses
her of sending him mixed messages. She
defends herself. "She's never led
Brian to believe that she wants anything more than friendship from him,"
insists Willis. "She's told him,
'I'm in love with Jason, but we can be friends.' She's said it time and time again. Courtney has enough on her plate right now. She doesn't need Brian giving her a hard
time, when her intentions are innocent."
But are his? Regardless, Brian walks away, leaving poor
Courtney alone on Christmas.
