Ch. 21
The cab pulled up to an apartment building. Jason got out first, Courtney following
him. Although she had agreed to come
with him she was having second thoughts.
"Come on, she won't kill you."
"Yeah, easy for you to say, you're not the new girlfriend!"
"It’s okay, I'm here nothing is going to happen to
you."
"Alright…" so she followed him, holding his
hand. They walked into the building and
there she was. Her hair was a deep
shade of brown and her eyes matched.
She saw him and then her, the blonde on his arm, what was
she doing there? What was she doing on
his arm? Who was she and why was she
there?
"Hi, I'm Courtney, you must be Liz." Courtney
stuck out her hand but Liz refused it.
"Yeah that's great," turning towards Jason,
"hey babe, I missed you!" she walked over to kiss him but she moved
away.
"Liz, we need to talk…"
"Umm, well what about her? Is she coming? Liz pointed a finger at Courtney.
"She is part of what we need to talk about." Jason
said it sternly, he walked to two ladies to a café, and they sat at a table.
"Liz, while we were together I never loved you. Courtney's been part of my life since I was
in 11th grade and I have always loved her."
"Ohh, Jason you can't be serious!, you didn't mean
that! Besides you told me you loved
me." She held back tears on the brink of falling.
"No, I never said I loved you, I was about to say
'Elizabeth, I love Courtney' but you though I was going to say I love you and
didn't let me finish."
"You! You, oh my god!
I can't believe you ass hole!" she turned to Courtney, " and
you bitch, how could you steal MY future husband from me!" she slammed her
chair behind her while she stood up, pacing over to Courtney she put her hands
out to ring Courtney's neck she was stopped by Jason who stepped between to
two.
"Leave her the hell alone!"
"Jason, you don't need to do this, I can handle
her." Courtney stepped in so there would be no scene.
"Courtney let's go.
Good-bye Liz, just leave me alone."
"Jason, this isn't over. Courtney will pay for taking you from me!" she walked away
fuming. Courtney started to cry and
Jason took her into his arms.
"It’s going to be ok, she won't hurt you, I
promise."
"Jason, no one can stop her is she is out for blood we
can only hope she won't plan something to drastic." She buried herself in his arms. After a few minutes they got back into a cab
and went back to the hotel. Sonny and
Carly were in the lobby waiting for them.
"So how did she handle it?" Carly asked with a
optimistic smile.
"Ohh, she flipped out but you know nothing we couldn't
handle." She glanced up at Jason, secretly telling him that she didn't
want to get into it.
"Well is anyone hungry?" Sonny lightened the mood
by breaking the tense silence.
"Sure!" Courtney needed to be out of the situation
so she figured dinner would help her, so she figured.
They chose to go to T.G. I. Fridays, for an easy
dinner. They sat down and ordered their
drinks.
"I'll be right back, I need to use the restroom."
Courtney stood up and pushed her chair in.
"Do you want me to go with you?" Carly knew
Courtney was on the edge since she had met with Liz.
"No, I'm just going to be a few seconds"
"Ok…" Carly was really worried but didn't want to
push things. Courtney left and went to
the bathrooms.
Meanwhile…….
"Ok, Brian, so I'll get her upset and then you can
kidnap her on her way out of the bathroom."
"Liz, are you sure this will work?"
"Positive!"
"Ok, let's go!"
~*~
Courtney walked into the bathroom and there she was,
Liz. What was going to happen?
"Hello" Liz said slyly.
"Yeah, hey what do you want or are you following me and
Jason?"
"I wouldn't dream of it, except you should know, we
have a kid."
"Ohh, yeah I'm sure you do!" she wasn't believing
a word out of this girls mouth.
"No really, 3 months old. She was named after his high school love, Mary."
Mary, Mary, MARY! Courtney remembered everything from that
first day, especially the girl in math class, Mary. Had he moved on with her once she left? No, it couldn't be.
"Bull, I don't believe you!"
"Fine don't, I don't care!" with that Courtney
stormed out and behold there was Brian.
"What is this day of the ass holes?"
"Courtney babe what's wrong?'
"Stay away from me!" she tried to run but Brian
caught her in his arms.
"Your not going anywhere!" Brian smiled slickly
and ran off.
At the table…
"Ok, it's been way to long where is she?" Carly
was worried.
"Will you go look for her?" Jason had been worried
to about the length of time she had been gone.
"Of course!" Carly left the table, walking over to
the bathrooms she went it; no one. She
looked around; no one. She was getting
worried that was when she heard it, a muffled but still fully distinct cry for
help, Courtney! , her mind jumped,
who ever did this, I'm not going to be
able to take him down myself. She ran back to the table.
"What’s wrong?" Sonny and Jason asked at the same
time.
"Someone took-" she stopped when Jason threw
himself out of his chair and ran towards the door. He saw Brian holding Courtney and moving down the street
outside. He bolted out of the
restaurant and then thru the door turning down the street he screamed.
"Courtney, I'm coming." He continued running but
Brian stopped hearing Jason. When Jason
was close enough to Brian to catch Courtney, he started to run away with her
again. Jason sprinted towards them,
fast, faster and faster he ran towards the pair. Thud, he had hit Brian
hard in the head causing him to fall to the ground. Losing his grip on Courtney she was able to escape falling.
"Courtney…"
"J-Ja-Jason-" he put a finger to her lips telling
her to stop talking.
"Don't speak, come on Carly and Sonny will be
worried." He picked her up and carried her back to the restaurant where
Carly and Sonny were waiting in the entrance.
