Chapter 8

"Where is she?" Jason asked afraid of what the answer would be.

"I'm so sorry. I don't know how to say this but we need you to come down to the morgue. We think we may have her body. Once again I'm very sorry."  the man answered

"We'll be right down." Jason said as he hung up his phone.

"The police think they found Courtney." Jason told Sonny and Carly.

"If they found her, why aren't you happy?" Carly and Sonny both asked

"They believe that they found her body. They think she's dead." Jason said with tears streaming down his face. He was told that he would never have emotions but the thought of the love of his life being dead just made the tears flow easily and rapidly. To think that he would never see Courtney, his wife, again was too painful.

"OMG! That can't be true. Courtney can't be dead!' Carly said as she cried.

Sonny just sat there. He couldn't think straight anymore. He had no words to say. His baby sister was believed to be dead.  'This can't be happening' Sonny thought.

"They want us to go down to the morgue and identify her body." Jason said.

20 minutes later

Jason, Sonny, Carly, Mike, and Bobbie were at the morgue. Before they had left, Sonny had called Mike and told him everything while Carly had done the same with Bobbie. None of them could speak. They were afraid of the truth that they were about to face.

"Hello. I'm not sure if any of you have had to do this before but I'll explain to you how this done." The mortician explained.

"Yeah" was all anyone could say.

A/N: I'm not positive on how they actually do this but I saw something like it on Third Watch so I'm just gonna do what I saw on that.

"I'm going to go back there and get the body out. I'll be behind this window with the curtain. Just bang on the window when you are ready and just tell me if the body is Courtney Morgan. Okay?" the mortician explained.

The five of them just nodded.

About 5 minutes later Jason knocked on the window and before them was Courtney's body. Everyone just cried and cried thinking of who they had just lost.

Chapter 9

"Let me repeat the plan one more time. We are not going to kill Courtney, unless we have to. The body that they will se will be a wax figure. Gary will make sure no one figures out that it is not Courtney. We will keep Courtney locked in the room she's in right now. You will be able to comfort Jason in his time of need. We will frame Faith and say she had people following Courtney because of the docks. Okay?" Alcazar said.

"Yeah, I understand all that but why are you helping me?" Robin asked.

"Well we're going to make it look like Sonny's job and lifestyle is what killed Courtney so Carly will leave him and come back to me." Alcazar said with a smirk on his face.

"She can't go back to you." Robin said.

"Why is that?" Alcazar asked.

"You never had her to begin with. When Sonny caught you kissing her, she slapped you in the face and ran after him and explained everything to him. Isn't that what you told me?" Robin said.

"Yeah but trust me she will come running in to my arms."

"Whatever you say." Robin said.

Chapter 10
A/N: This chapter will mostly be flashbacks and the funeral. I hope it is very touching.

It has been a week since they identified Courtney's "body". Her funeral is later on that day.

Jason sat in his penthouse. He hadn't really left since that time last week when he saw his wife for the last time. Well, actually for the last time physically because Courtney would always be in his heart and memory. He just sat there thinking about some of the events that happened with them.

Flashback:
Courtney: Sorry about the wait. Breakfast is still being served if you want that. Special is eggs benedict. If you want lunch, the blue plate is caesar salad with grilled chicken. Don't tell me. Let me guess. You want a hamburger burned with french fries. You guys always do.
Jason: "You guys"?
Courtney: Yeah. Investment bankers dressing down for your morning off. I can spot you every time.
Woman: Oh, miss?
[Woman whistles]
Woman: Could you -- I need to -- could you please come over -- I don't have time. Could you just -- I ordered over-easy eggs. These are not over-easy.
Courtney: I think that's what our cook calls over easy, but if you just give me --
Woman: Yeah, well, I've been waiting here for almost 15 minutes.
Courtney: I'm really sorry. Look, we're short and it's really busy --
Woman: Not my problem. I'm going to be late for work.
Jason: Over-easy eggs
Courtney: Hey, I -- I just wanted to thank you for your help with that customer over there. I'm new here, and I really don't need the complaints.
Jason: All I did was hand the lady a plate of eggs.
Courtney: Yeah, well, you came to my rescue, so I owe you.
Jason: I thought someone should cut you a break.
Courtney: You know, most people don't even notice the waitress unless their order is wrong. And then some people just look and you don't want them to, but that's another story. I have no idea how i will ever repay you.
Jason: I do.
Courtney: Look, I am happily married to a wonderful man who I am madly in love with, so --
Jason: That's great. Could I get another order of eggs?
Courtney: Oh -- ahem.
Courtney: On the house.
Jason: That's not necessary.
Courtney: No. You sacrificed your first order for me, and, maybe even better, you made me laugh. Well, the situation did.
Jason: It had to be the situation. Nobody thinks I'm funny.
Courtney: Well, you don't smile much.
Jason: Most people don't think the truth is funny.
Courtney: Well, what do they know? Um -- so, do you think that maybe you were one of those people born without a sense of humor?
Jason: No. I used to have one, but I lost it a while ago.
Courtney: So, how do you think you lost your sense of humor?
Jason: It's a long story.
Courtney: Well, I would love to hear it sometime.
End flashback

That was the first time they had met.

Flashback:
[Outside in the rain]
Courtney: What is wrong with you?
Jason: I'm taking you home!
Courtney: What if you had killed coleman? How am I supposed to feel if you go to prison because of me?
Jason: Look, I gave my word to protect you and I've lost my patience. I want to finish that guy!
Courtney: You can't just bust into places and start beating people up, especially when we don't have evidence! Jason, I am afraid for you. God, look at you, you're still hurt. [Her hands go to his face]
Jason: No, it's ok. I'm all right.
Courtney: No, I couldn't stand it if anything happened to you. [She pulls his face closer to hers] When I saw you laying on that floor, I thought -- [They kiss passionately, then Courtney pulls away]
Courtney: This -- this is crazy. I -- I love A.J.
Jason: I know. It won't happen again. [Jason ruffles his wet hair]
Courtney: It can't.
Jason: It won't.
Courtney: He's probably wondering where I am.
Jason: Ok, I'll take you home. Let's go.
Courtney: No, you have to go to the emergency room.
Jason: Look, I'm ok.
Courtney: I can't be near you. You have to give me your word that you're going to go to the hospital. Promise me!
Jason: All right.
Courtney: Go, now. Just make sure that you're ok.
[Courtney goes to walk away, but brushes up against him, then turns to look at him]
Courtney: You promised.
End Flashback

That was their first kiss.

Flashback:
Courtney: Ok, ok, just stay here. I'm going to go get help.
Jason: No.
Courtney: No, I'll follow the road. Jason, you have to get to a hospital.
Jason: No Courtney-
[Jason coughs]
Jason: You're not going to save either of us going out into the blizzard. Just let go of how afraid you are and think. You know, where my -- we have to stay here.
Courtney: No, Jason, I can't do anything.
Jason: You -- you need to help me. I -- I need your body heat and -- and I need you to keep me awake and talking. I need you to get me through this. Please -- please. Please.
Courtney: You know, you have to be ok because sonny will never speak to me again.
Jason: It wouldn't matter.
Courtney: Jason, what can I do?
Jason: Just keep talking.
Courtney: Ok, ok. Um -- when this is over, the first thing we'll do, we'll go the Caymans, ok? We'll find the perfect island, the perfect beach, and we'll just lay on the sand without towels until we got hot, which should take about three days. Ok. Stay with me, baby. Um -- have you ever gone sailing?
Jason: Yeah.
Courtney: Ok, well -- well, since I'm dreaming, we'll -- we'll sail around the island.
[Jason coughs]
Courtney: Ok, stay with me. Come on. We'll sail around the island, we'll sleep on the boat, and we'll -- we'll lay on the deck and we'll look up at the sky and we'll watch the stars and and I'll just fall asleep in your arms while you read to me. Ok?
Jason: What -- what do you want me to read?
Courtney: Oh. Anything. I don't care. I just like to be read to. And I love the sound of your voice. How are you doing? Ok?
Jason: Yeah, I'm -- I'm ok. Where would we go next?
Courtney: Oh, I don't know. I'm -- the only places I've ever been besides Port Charles are Reno and Atlantic city -- and the island that A.J. Took me to, so the rest of the world is wide open.
Jason: Spain.
Courtney: Ok. We'll go to Spain. After we sail and learn how to scuba dive, we'll go to Spain.
Courtney: When we get to Spain, we'll -- we'll get motorcycles. We'll travel around on them. Jason, stay with me. Stay with me. What's the name of that -- that city where that artist did all those wonderful buildings?
Jason: Barcelona.
Courtney: Yeah, that's right. Just nod, ok? Ok? Would you like that? Ok. And you know what might be fun if we don't have any definite plans, though, you know, we'll just -- just head off in -- in a direction and we'll -- we'll pick a road if we have a good feeling about it, you know, and we'll -- we'll stay there and explore --
[Jason coughs]
Courtney: Ok, well -- oh, Jason, but you have to hang on. You have to hang on, ok? I love you.
Jason: I love you, too. [he passes out]
Courtney: Jason? Jason, you have to hang on. Jason, you have to stay with me or you're going to freeze. Come on -- no, you can't -- you can't leave me. Oh --
[Courtney honks car horn]
Courtney: God.
End Flashback

That was when they first said I love you to each other.

Flashback:
Priest: Dearly beloved, we are gathered together in the sight of god to join this man and this woman. Repeat after me. I, Jason, take thee Courtney to be my wife.
Jason: I, Jason, take thee Courtney to be my wife.
Priest: To have and to hold, to love and to cherish
Jason: To have and to hold, to love and to cherish
Priest: For better or worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health.
Jason: For better or worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health.
Priest: Forsaking all others, as long as we both shall live.
Jason: Forsaking all others, for as long as we both shall live.
Priest: Courtney
Courtney: I, Courtney, take thee Jason
Priest: To have and to hold, to love and to cherish
Courtney: To have and to hold, to love and to cherish
Priest: For better or worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health.
Courtney: For better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health.
Priest: Forsaking all others, as long as we both shall live.
Courtney: Forsaking all others, as long as we both shall live.
Jason: Take and wear this ring as a symbol of my fidelity and abiding love.
He places the ring on her finger.
Courtney: Jason, take and wear this ring as a symbol of my fidelity and abiding love.
Priest: Having made these vows freely and unreservedly in the sight of God and these witnesses and having pledged yourselves each unto the other, you are now joined as husband and wife in holy matrimony. Sworn to love, honor, and cherish each other until you are parted by death.
Courtney: Oh my God. We actually did it.
Priest: That you have my dear. Jason, you may kiss your bride.
End Flashback

That was when they got married.

Jason looked over at the clock and realized that it was time to go to the church for her funeral. He hated to believe that she was gone.

The Funeral
The priest had just finished the memorial and asked if anyone would like to speak. Carly got up and went to the front of the church.

Carly: Courtney was one of my best friends in the whole world. She is the type of person that everyone would want to know. She would de anything for a perfect stranger. She proved that when she saved Louise Phillips in the fire. Courtney was like no other person and she was just so special."

(Carly starts crying)

Carly: I have decided to read a quote and a poem that describes the kind of friendship I was lucky enough to have with her.
Written with a pen, sealed with a kiss.
If you are my friend, please answer me this:
Are we friends? or are we not?
You told me once, but I forgot.
So tell me now, and tell me true,
So I can say, "I'm here for you"
Of all the friends I've ever met,
You're the one I wont forget.
And If I die, before you do.
I'll go to heaven and wait for you.
I'll give the angels back their wings,
and risk the loss of everything
there isn't a thing I wouldn't do,
To have a friend Just like you!

Smiles And Tears, Giggles And Laughs. Late Night Calls And Cute Photographs. I'll Be There For U Till The Day Of My Death. Best Gurlies Forever Till My Very Last Breath.
Who would have known that she…she already…had…had her last…last breath."

Carly walked back to her seat crying uncontrollably. Now it was Sonny's turn.

"Courtney and I didn't really get to spend as much time together as we would have liked. Neither of us knew about each other until a couple of years ago. I cherish each and every moment that I was lucky enough to spend with her. We were like all other siblings. We didn't agree on everything but that didn't mean we didn't love each other and we would always show our love for each other. During the fire I pushed her out of the way as the ceiling started to cave in. I injured my leg and I told to her walk away and save herself but no she was a stubborn as me. She refused to go and she ended up saving my life. I love her so much and I will not rest until I find out who did this. I know how badly she wanted to become a mother and that opportunity was taken away again. I love you Court and I'm so sorry."

Jason decided that it was his turn to go up. He let the tears fall freely as he spoke.

"After my accident, the doctors told me that I would have no more feelings. I thought that was true until the day that I met Courtney. I had been with people before her that I thought I loved but she showed me what love is and a whole other side of me I never thought I had. I just can't believe that I'm never going to be able to see her smile or hear her laugh again just kills me inside. A part of me feels and thinks that she is still out there somewhere waiting for me to rescue her. All I want is to hold her in my arms and tell her how much I love her. Courtney I will love you now and forever. I didn't just lose my wife but I lost my unborn child too. We wanted a baby so bad but now we will never get one."

As Jason started to walk back to his seat, Michael ran from his and up to the coffin that Courtney was in.

"NO! Aunt Courtney you can't be gone. What about Rosie or Grandpa or Mommy or Daddy or Uncle Jason. What about me? You can't leave us. NO!" Michael cried.

Jason walked up to him and picked him up.

"I know buddy. I know." Jason said as he and Michael walked back over to their seats.

At the same time as the funeral, Robin decided to have some fun with Courtney. Alcazar had managed to get a video camera into the church and Courtney was being forced to watch her own funeral.

"Why are you doing this to me? What do you want?" Courtney asked.

"I want what you took from me. Jason!" Robin said.

"He'll never go back to you. You hear him yourself a part of him doesn't believe I'm dead!" Courtney yelled.

"Dream on. You chose to leave Jason and then you made the wrong choice by wanting him back. You just getting what you deserve. You Blondie, are facing the consequences of your actions."
"Jason!" Courtney screamed, as the door slammed shut.

As quick as the door had closed, it opened and in walked….
