Chapter 2 –I'm Here
“Oh my God,” Bobbie whispered, as she looked across the
room, to the small beaten form. She walked over to Courtney, and bent down to
check for a pulse. She let out a breath she didn't realize she was holding,
she's alive. She grabbed her phone from her purse, and called 911. After
she hung up, she dialed another number.
Jason had been in bed for hours he tried to go to sleep, but
he couldn’t his mind kept wandering back to one of the many moments he shared
with Courtney. He was brought back to reality, when he heard his phone ringing.
He leaned over to where the phone rested on what used to be
Courtney’s nightstand. “Hello?”
“Jason, it’s Bobbie...something has happened to Courtney,”
she said over the phone.
Jason immediately shot up in bed, “Bobbie what’s wrong? Is
she ok? Where is she?” a million things were going through Jason’s mind,
something had happened to Courtney.
“She’s at the hospital--” before Bobbie finished what she
was saying, Jason threw down the phone, and jumped out of bed.
In what seemed like hours, but in reality were only
minutes, Jason arrived at the hospital. He ran off the elevator, and he
immediately spotted Bobbie. “Bobbie, where’s my wife?” Jason demanded, panic
going through him. Bobbie looked at him; she didn't know how to tell him that
his wife had just been raped. Jason saw the nervous look on her face, ‘oh god,
it’s really bad’ he thought to himself. “Bobbie, what happened to Courtney?”
Jason asked again.
Bobbie took a deep breath, and looked Jason straight in the
eye, “Courtney...was...was raped.”
Jason’s heart fell, his wife was raped, how was she going to
get through this. He blamed himself, he had always promised to protect her.
Even though they had been separated, he told her that he would always protect
her, and in a way, he let her down.
Jason looked back at Bobbie, “Can I see her?” he asks.
“Yeah, she’s in room 214, last time I checked she was still
sleeping.” Jason nodded, started on his
journey towards Courtney’s room. Bobbie looked on as Jason walked away, her
heart breaking for Jason and Courtney, and she had never seen two people
more in love, than them. They always put each other first, and they were always
there for each other. They weren’t like Sonny and Carly, who claimed to love
each other, and then the next thing you know, they are each jumping in bed with
somebody else. Bobbie sighed, and turned to walk back toward the nurse’s
station, she had tried to call Carly and Sonny earlier once Courtney had gotten
to the hospital, but she couldn’t get a hold of them, and she knew why.
Jason had been standing outside of Courtney’s room for a
couple of minutes, just watching her sleep, she looked so peaceful, and he
didn't want to disturb her.
“She’s going to need you to help her through this when she
wakes up.” Jason turned to look for the source of the voice, and saw Monica.
“Bobbie told me what happened, Courtney’s going to need you.”
Jason looked at Monica, he had never been the one to ask
advice, especially from a Quartermaine, “what am I suppose to do, if she tries
to push me away?”
Monica looked at Jason, “you don’t let her push you away,
let her know you will always be there for her.” Monica looked away from her
son, to Courtney, who was starting to wake up. “Go in there, and let her know
you will always be there for her.”
Jason looked at Monica one more time, before he opened the
door, to his wife’s room. Courtney turned around to see who it was, “hey,”
Jason whispers.
“Jason,” Courtney whispered, as tears started to rush down
her cheeks, “I didn’t think you would come to see me,” she said, before
turning, so her back was facing him, she let more tears roll down her cheeks.
Jason’s heart fell when he heard her say that she didn’t
think he would come. He cautiously walked over to her bedside, and sat down in
the chair, “Courtney, why would you think that I wouldn’t come?”
Courtney turned around, but she didn't look Jason straight
in the eye, “because Brian did it.”
Chapter 3- Do you still love me?
Courtney turned to look at Jason, “because Brain did it.”
The fact that Brian was the one who did this to his wife,
made Jason so angry, he wanted to hunt Brian down, and kill him right now.
Courtney looked at Jason, and she tried to read the emotions
that were going through him, but this was the one time she couldn’t. “Jason,
you don’t have to stay, I understand if you don’t want me anymore,” she said,
trying to hold back the tears.
“Courtney, I will always love you and want you, nothing or
nobody can change how I feel,” Jason answered, before pulling Courtney into a
hug.
For hours, Jason held Courtney while she cried, and she
eventually fell asleep in his arms. But
sleep wouldn’t come for Jason, he laid awake thinking about everything that
happened tonight, and how he couldn’t help but feel guilty, if he would have
protected her more, and if he would have watched out for Brian more, then maybe
this would have never happened.
------
The next morning, Jason woke up around 8:00, to see Courtney
sound asleep in his arms. He hated to let her go, but he needed to call
someone, he gently laid her down on the bed, and got up. After he covered her
up with a blanket, he left her room.
He walked over to the nurse’s station, where he saw Monica.
She turned around to see him. “Hey Jason, how is she?”
Jason rubbed his eyes and sighed, “she slept well last
night, and I guess that’s a good thing,”
Monica nodded, “after she wakes up, and she gets checked out
again, she should be able to go home.” She paused for a second, before
continuing, “this is really none of my business, but it would help Courtney a
lot, if she didn’t go home alone. Now I have to go check up on some patients,
but I’ll be back in a couple of hours, to check on Courtney,” and with that,
Monica left Jason to think about what she said.
But Jason didn’t need to think about what Monica said; he
already knew he wasn’t going to be letting Courtney go home alone. He grabbed
his cell phone out of his pocket, and dialed the familiar number. When Sonny
didn’t answer, he right away knew where he was. He was with that slut Sam, and
he hated it. Just a couple of months ago, Carly and Sonny were together, and
they were excitedly anticipating the birth of Morgan. And Courtney and him were
newlyweds.
He then dialed another number, and when Carly didn’t answer,
he knew that she was with Alcazar, the man that was responsible for the death
of his and Courtney’s child. The man that held her and Courtney captive, the
man that stalked her for weeks and sent her unwanted gifts. The man that
ultimately ruined her marriage.
Back in Courtney’s hospital room, she woke up alone, it took
her awhile to remember why she was in the hospital, but then it all came back
to her, and so did the tears.
As she remembered everything about last night, she
remembered Jason coming to her, and she began to wonder if that part was just a
dream. She started to scan her room, and her eyes fell on Jason’s leather
jacket, that was sitting on the chair next to her bed. She slowly walked out of
her bed and grabbed Jason’s jacket.
She wrapped herself in his jacket, and settled herself back
in her bed, and quickly fell back to sleep.
If she wasn’t in his arms, his leather jacket was the next best thing.
~Happy Easter! ~~Ok, I know this was a short chapter, but
it’s better than nothing. It took me awhile, because I kind of got stuck, and I
don’t think this chapter was one of my best. If you like it, or if you have any
suggestions please leave feedback. I will try and get another chapter out soon,
but it might be awhile cuz I have a 10 pg research paper for American History.
Who knew my 10th grade American history teacher could be so unfair.
Anyway, if it takes awhile to update that is why.
Also the next couple of chapters will bring about everybody
else’s reaction on what happened to Courtney, and how Brian is dealt with.
