Sonny sat silently in the chair next to Courtney’s hospital bed torturing himself with the previous events of the day. Not only had he put his sister in danger but he had gotten her hurt so badly and put in this hospital bed. She was an innocent girl hurt because of her association with him. Not only that but his best friend, the man who loved her was falling to pieces and there was nothing he could do to stop it. Tears slowly came to his eyes and he did nothing to restrain them. He just gently reached for Courtney’s hand and laid his head on the bed as his tears fell onto the sheets. He jumped when he felt some one grab his arm forcing him to turn around. Without thinking he pinned the person against the wall until he realized who it was.

“Sonny, baby it’s me. What are you doing?” Carly stated as she looked at her husband who stood broken before her. Normally she was the one who would break down and let everything get to her but ever since she stepped into the hospital she had to be the strong one. The two men she loved the most, the ones who were always so brave and tough could not handle the situation and whether they said it or not...they needed her. So she did the only natural thing she knew to do, and that was to push back all of her fear and emotions and take care the people who needed her the most.

Sonny released his grip on his wife when he had realized what he had done. The pain was becoming way too much for him to handle and he couldn’t let it take over.
“Carly? I’m so sorry it’s just...I’m not paying attention right now and I thought you were some one coming to hurt her again. I can’t let that happen to her ever again I told her she would allays be safe with me Carly...She has to be ok.”

Carly knew that Sonny had not slept ever since he found out about Courtney and she knew that if he didn’t get some rest soon then he would be put in the hospital himself.
She carefully brought her hand to his face to get his full attention.
“Sonny, you need to get some rest. You are no good to Courtney like this so why don’t you go get Jason and let him stay with her for a while? We will come back tomorrow morning.”

“No, Carly Jason won’t be here to stay with her.... He left earlier. I tried to get him to stay, but he was so hurt and....and.”

“What Sonny what’s wrong with Jason? Where was he going?” Carly began to panic. She thought she was keeping everything under control. She thought that Jason had gone out to get some air or something and now he was off some where hurting. What scared her the most was the thought of what he might do.

“I am not sure exactly where he was going but he said it would be some where that he couldn’t hurt her any more. He was hurting so bad and before he left he gave this to me.” Sonny reached inside his pocket and pulled out the diamond ring that Jason was going to give to Courtney as her engagement ring. “He was going to propose to her. He loved her that much and when this happened he just cracked. I have been staring at this ring on and off ever since he left, I can’t bring myself to get rid of it Carly they belong together.”

“You are right baby they do belong together.” Carly said standing up as an idea popped into her head. “Sonny hold on to that ring and don’t let it go. I think I know where Jason is, and I am going to bring him back. Are you going to be ok until I come back?”

“Yeah I will be fine but where are you going? You know if Jason doesn’t want to be found he won’t be.”

“Well you forget one thing honey.... If there is one thing I know it’s Jason and I know what I am doing so you and Courtney just hang on because he will be back ok.” She leaned down and gave him a sweet kiss before waiting for his reply.

“Ok but hurry back soon...And Carly...”

“Yeah?”

“I love you.”

“I love you to.”


As Carly exited the room she went up to the front desk to talk to Bobbie.

“Hey mom...I need you to do me a favor.” Carly was in a hurry and she was hoping that her mother would just trust her word and not try to get much information out of her. She didn’t have time for games.

“Sure what is it?” Bobbie could tell her daughter was hurting and she had extreme compassion for her.

“Mom I have something very important that I need to go do. I need you to take care of Sonny for me. He is not going to go home, he can’t leave Courtney like this. So could you please just make sure that eats something and gets some rest?”

“Of course I will. After all he is my son-in-law and you love him very much.”

“Yes I do...And also tomorrow morning could you call Mike and ask him to come down. They need each other to get through this whether they admit it or not.”

“No problem sweetie. I called Mike to inform him that Courtney was in the hospital and he was out of town so he should be here some time tomorrow any way.”

“Ok well thank you so much but I’ve got to go now. Just make sure they are ok please...I need them.”

“I promise.”

With her mothers reassurance Carly quickly stepped into the elevator just before the doors closed. She knew what she would have to do to get find Jason and get him back no all she had to do was make a few quick stops and she would be on her way.


Jason stopped his truck in front of his house and gathered his bags out of the back. He needed some time to think and this was just the place to do it. No one would know where he was not even Sonny...there was no way he could hurt Courtney from here.

When he got inside he took his things into his bedroom and put them away. He tried everything to keep him busy so that he would not think about her but it seemed impossible. He went into the living room and sat on the couch. All of the thoughts that he was trying so hard to forget began to completely control him. Realizing he would not be able to stop them he let his tears cascade down his face. Images of Courtney laying on the floor in the loft helpless flashed in his mind tearing him apart.

“God why couldn’t I stop them.” He screamed as he stood up and began pacing the room. “Why the hell couldn’t I protect the one person I love? Why...Why did this happen I just want to know why....” His body began to shake and the pain consumed him. He reached onto the fireplace and started to throw anything that was within reach. All the while he was yelling...”She didn’t deserve this. We were suppose to be happy and be together. We were suppose to get married and have a family and now she may never leave the hospital.... It’s all because of me...All because of me Damnit!!!!!!!” Loosing his strength to stand he fell to the floor crying uncontrollably. His yelling had become so lout that he didn’t hear the door opening.

Carly saw Jason on the floor and quickly ran up to him and pulled him into her arms. “Jason honey it’s ok...It’s ok. You need to calm down; this isn’t your fault sweetie. Things happen and sometimes we can’t explain them and we blame ourselves but Jason this wasn’t your fault. This was no ones fault ok.”

Jason realized the voice and hugged onto to Carly tightly as he cried. He thought that he could handle this, but he couldn’t. It was becoming too much and he didn’t know how to control it. “Carly,” he said as he pulled back and looked into her eyes. “How did you know I would be here...I thought no one knew about this place? Sonny doesn’t.”

“Well in case you forgot...You brought Michael and I here once to get away from everything. You told me this was where you came to think and get away from things. So when Sonny told me that you said you were going where you couldn’t hurt Courtney anymore I knew this was where you would be.”
“Oh yeah I guess I forgot...You always were the one who knew everything about me.”

“Yeah well that still hasn’t changed Jase and I know your hurting...but you have to go back. Courtney needs you, we both know that don’t bail out on her now not after everything two have been through.”

“Carly I know you know a lot about me but you are wrong on this. I can’t go back there, she doesn’t need me and I am not bailing on her. This happened to her because of me, the things that they did to her.... How could I have ever let that happen?”

“You didn’t let it happen Jason.... You said that you wanted to be where you couldn’t hurt her anymore, but don’t you realize how much it is going to hurt her if she wakes up and finds out that you left her. She is going to think that you don’t love her because she was raped and because of everything else that has happened. She won’t understand this Jason and it will hurt her more than this is hurting you.”

“I would never leave her because of that Carly and she knows that, but I can’t let this happen to her again. The only way that I can be sure of that is to leave her alone.”

“She might know that Jason but it won’t matter to her at the time. She will not be able to think rational just like you can’t right now and that will cost you everything Jason. You need to take a step back and look at this ok. The only way you can be completely sure that this doesn’t happen to her is if you are there to look out for her and keep her safe. The only way that she will be happy is if she is with you. She needs you now more then ever so go be with her. You need her to.”

“Carly how can you be sure I will be able to keep her safe? How can you be sure that this won’t happen again and next time it won’t be worse?”

“I saw the ring Jason. Sonny showed it to me, and I know how much you love her. She loves you just the same if not more. I am not promising anything and I am not sure if she will ever be hurt again but I can guarantee you that she will be willing to take the risk of getting hurt to be with you Jason. So if you really do love her go to her, and when she wakes up ask her to marry you and put that ring on her ringer.”

“You are completely right. Let’s go right now. We can take your car and I will get my things later.”

“What about this mess?” She said as she looked around the room at the broken glass and furniture.

“It can wait. I don’t want her to wake up before I get there so let’s go now.”

“Ok I am glad you changed your mind for once and just listened to me.”

“Carly.”

“Yeah what?”

“Thanks. I think you are the only one that could have talked me out of staying here.”

“Just what were you planning on doing any way,” she laughed as they began walking to the car. “Were you just going to stay up here forever?”

“I am not sure what I was going to do. I just know what I want to do now, and that’s go see my beautiful girlfriend.”


Sonny was laying in a hospital bed next to Courtney sleeping. Bobbie brought him some dinner and ordered him to eat and get some rest. She checked in on him every half-hour until he finally dozed off. Not realizing where he was he rolled over and accidentally fell off of the bed onto the cold floor. He stood up when he began to hear some one laughing loudly. He saw Mike seated next to Courtney holding her hand.

“Oh I guess you find that amusing huh? How long have you been here?”

“I got in this morning and came straight here. Bobbie filled me in on what happened and I couldn’t leave her.”

“Yeah, Jason found her. I don’t know how but he seemed to know something wasn’t right.”

As if right on cue Jason and walked through the door and watched as Sonny stood shocked in front of them.

“Jason, you’re back. I thought you were staying away from here for a while what happened?”

“Carly found me, and she talked me back into my senses before I went to far. This is where I belong.”

“I could have told you that all along Jase I was just waiting to see how long it took you to figure that out,” He said as he hugged Jason tightly.

Jason looked up to Mike who was furious. “Jason this is all your fault. You are the reason my daughter is in here isn’t that right? It’s pretty obvious that the two of you have been together.”


“No DAD, he is not the reason that I am in here.” Every one in the room turned around to see Courtney sitting up in her bed. “The guy that showed up in my apartment. The mane that did this to me. He was looking for you!!!!!”

Everyone was silent as Courtney’s words rang throughout the room. Jason was frozen with shock and anger at the fact that he was not the reason Courtney was hurt but her own father was.

“Honey, what do you mean the man was looking for me? They swore to me if I paid them back they would not touch my family damnit.” Mike said slamming his fist down on a nearby table.

“What the hell are you talking about Mike? Who did you owe money to?” Sonny yelled furiously.

“Some guy named Tagliotti,” Mike said softly almost as if her were trying to keep it from being true.

“Damnit, you didn’t have any idea who the hell this guy was. All you cared about was getting more money to gamble with.”

“No, Sonny it’s not like that...” Mike felt so ashamed and he just wished he hadn’t made such a stupid decision.

“That man is my enemy and probably one of the most dangerous men in Port Charles.”

“I’m Sorry,”

“Your sorry? Sorry isn't good enough. Do you know what that man did to her...Do you? He raped her and hurt her badly and it was all because of you. All you can say is sorry? Look at her...look at what you did to your little girl.”

“Stop it,” Courtney yelled with tears falling down her cheeks. Get the hell out...All of you.”

Jason could see her shaking just thinking about the terrible thing that happened to her. He quickly went to her site wrapping his arms tightly around her. “Courtney, I’m not leaving you...not again,” he said almost demandingly.

“Fine, but I want the rest of you out now. Don’t come back until you can quit acting like this happened to you. I’m the one that was held down by that horrible man while he raped me....I’m the one all of this happened to so quit acting like your the victims.”

Jason wrapped his arms tightly around Courtney trying to calm her as everyone exited the room. Once the door clicked shut he pulled back to look at her. “Courtney, I’m so sorry I wasn’t there. I should have stayed with you and told Sonny to wait until tomorrow.” he said with regret in his voice.

“Jason this wasn’t your fault. You could not help what happened any more then I could have. If you don't want to be with me any more I will understand. I know you need someone who can take care of herself and I proved that I can’t.”

“I would never leave you. I love you more than anything. You are exactly what I need. It’s not your fault that you couldn’t get away from him honey. You know that don’t you?”

“Yeah I do it’s just I was so scared and there was nothing I could do to stop it. What if they come after me again?”

“They won’t ever hurt you again,” Jason said trying to reassure her. “I will not let anyone hurt you again I promise.”

“I know,” she said smiling slightly. “I Loved all of my presents you had for me at the loft.”

“I’m glad you did, but I don’t think we’re going to be able to continue our plans tonight...You need to get some rest.”

Just then they heard a knock on the door and saw Monica pop he head into the room.

“Good your awake,” she said walking further into the room. “I have the same thing I think we need to discuss alone.”

“No, anything you say Jason can hear. I want him with me.”

“Ok, no problem.”

Jason gave Courtney a tight squeeze on the hand to reassure her that whatever the situation was he would be by her site. “Well what is it Monica,” they both asked in unison.

“Well Courtney we ran some tests when you were first brought in and we just received the results.” Monica looked at the couple with a smile on her face. She could tell they were worried but she couldn’t wait to tell them the news that would change their lives.

Courtney took a deep breath and looked at Jason before responding. “So what’s wrong with me?”

There is nothing wrong with you. You are perfectly healthy but there is one small thing.

“What? Just spit it out already,” Courtney said impatiently.

“Courtney your pregnant...You are already two and a half months alone.”

“Oh my god,” Courtney said as a smile spread across her face. “Jason we are going to have a baby!!!!!”

“I couldn’t be happier,” he said overflowing with joy at the thought of raising a baby of his own with Courtney.

“Wait did I miss something?” Monica asked slightly confused.

“Well Monica,” Jason said. “Courtney and I have been together for a while now...and not were going to have the most beautiful baby.”

Jason looked down at Courtney to see a look of panic on her face. “Courtney honey what’s wrong? Are you ok?”

“Monica...Is the baby ok? You know what that man did to me...do you think he could have hurt that baby?” Courtney felt the room begin to spin and her breathing became slightly irregular at the thought of her baby being in danger.

“I checked that out as soon as I found out you were pregnant and everything is fine...You were lucky,” She said looking at Courtney who was slowly catching her breath and trying to relax with the good news.

Courtney let out a breath she had been holding. “Jason out baby’s going to be ok,” She smiled relieved.

“Yes, I promise you I won’t let anything hurt you or our baby ever again.”

Courtney could tell by looking in his eyes that he was telling her the truth. “Jason I want to get away from here. Lets go some where quiet and romantic just the two of us. I love you so much and U can’t wait to have our baby.”

“That sounds like a wonderful idea,” he said looking at Monica. “Do you think it would be ok for her to get away for while? When can she leave the hospital?”

“Well Courtney can leave as soon as I release her and I think a vacation sounds like the perfect was to take a break. There are few rules though,” she said directing her words to Jason.

“Ok what are they,” he asked excitedly.

“For one no drinking, Don’t spend to much time in the heat, no strenuous activity because you need to be careful still, and lastly a limited amount of sex...”

“How much is limited,” Courtney asked looking at Monica and seeing they embarrassment on Jason’s face.

“I would say no more than two times a day if not less. Make sure it’s not to wild either...” she said looking at her son who’s face had turned all shades of red imaginable.

“Ok I think we can handle that right Jase,” Courtney said bringing him out of his shell.

“Yeah no problem...Now if you don’t mind mom...Could you go prepare the release papers?” Jason said trying to get her out of the room.

“No problem, have fun you two,” Monica said before exiting the room and heading for the front desk.

“No more than sex twice a day and you say no problem...You must not know who your dealing with Mr. Morgan,” Courtney said with a devilish smile. “This is going to be so amazing.” She squealed jumping into Jason’s arms. “Why don’t I go get dressed and you can make arrangements. Then we can tell my dysfunctional family about out news.”

“Sounds like a wonderful plan to me,” he said bringing her into a passionate kiss before leaving the room.

15 minutes later

Courtney walked out of the bathroom fully dressed and noticed her release papers sitting on the nearby table. She quickly signed her name and gathered the rest of her belongings before heading towards the door. Stepping out of the room she say Jason hang up his phone and make his way towards her.

“Are you all ready to go he asked,” smiling at the beautiful woman.

“Yes I am,” she replied. “All we need to do is drop these papers off at the desk and tell Carly and Sony the news. Then we can be on out way.”

“Ok well let’s go,” he said leading her to the desk and dropping off the papers/ Then the two of them proceeded into the waiting room where they saw they rest of their family.

Looking up Sonny noticed Jason and Courtney standing in the door way with smiles spread widely across their faces. “So are you two ready to go home?” Sonny asked as he stood up followed by Carly and Mike.

“Well actually we have something we would like to tell you first,” Courtney said looking at Jason and placing his hand with hers onto her stomach.

“Well what is it?” they all asked.

Courtney looked at Jason before continuing. “Well Monica just informed Jason and U that we are going to have a baby.” She said quickly letting the words escape her mouth and waited for their reactions.

“Oh my gosh that is wonderful news,” Carly squealed as she hugged her best friends in excitement.

“Thank you Carly,” they replied. “Well Sonny, Mike what do you think?” Jason asked noticing the two men still in shock.

Sonny quickly moved in and congratulated his sister and Jason. He apologized for it taking him so long but it was quite a surprise.

Mike on the other hand walked out of the room with anger written all over his face making everyone pretty certain that they could find him down at Jakes bar in a few hours.

“There is one more thing,” Jason said looking at Sonny. “Courtney wants to get away for a while so I have arranged for use to go stay at our place in Hawaii. It that ok?”

“That sounds like the perfect idea,” Sonny said. “You two should stay gone as long as you need to and relax. Everything will be taken care of here.”

“Thank you so much Sonny,” Courtney said bringing him into a tight embrace.

“It’s nothing, just make sure you take care of that baby,” He said looking down at her stomach.

“We will,” she said.

“Hey Jason could I talk to you for a second please?” sonny said gesturing to the door.

Once the two were out in the hall he continued. “I thought you might want this so I saved it,” he said pulling out the engagement ring Jason had bought for Courtney out of his pocket and handed it to him.

“How do you know?” Jason asked with a puzzled look on his face.

“I say how much you loved my sister and I knew you would not be able to leave her behind. Now go take her away for a while and if you still want to...I suggest you use this ring.”

Jason and Sonny walked back into the room laughing with smiles on their faces startling to women a bit.

“Look at this Carly,” Courtney said with a grin. “The two toughest men in Port Charles laughing.

“I know,” Carly laughed. “How is that possible.”

“It’s easy when we have beautiful women like you and Courtney,” Sonny said pulling his wife close.

“Oh and they know how to suck up to,” she laughed.

“Only when no one is watching,” Jason said kissing Courtney. “So are you ready to go?”

“Definitely,” Courtney replied grabbing his and as he led her out of the room.
