Friction chp.4

Jason was awakened by the annoying sound of his alarm clock buzzing. Slowly he rolled over and reached his hand towards the alarm clock knocking over a few things before he was successful in stopping the noise. Looking at the time he rolled back over.

“It can’t be 8:00a.m. already,” he said tiredly.”

After resting a few more minutes he rolled himself out of the bed and walked towards the bathroom. “Maybe a shower will help wake me up,” he thought as he turned on the cold water and hopped in. Fifteen minutes later he stumbled out of the bathroom with a large towel wrapped around his waist and walked towards his closet to find something to wear. First he pulled out a pair of blue jeans and then decided on a simple black shirt to accompany it. He went to his drawer and picked out a pair of socks and silky boxers then proceeded to get dressed.

After he was fully dressed he grabbed his keys and bounded down the stairs to get his jacket. He decided to go to Kelly’s for his morning cup of coffee and some time to think of the odd dream he had last night.

The wonderful smell of breakfast food cooking down stairs woke Courtney from her deep sleep. Her stomach made a loud growl alerting her that she should get dressed and go find something to eat. Making herself get up she rummaged though her bags and decided to wear a simple pair of hip hugger jeans and a white tank top. After she finished getting dresses she pulled her hair into a low pony tail and applied a small amount of make-up to her face before preparing herself to leave.

There was a slight chill in the air as Jason made his way inside Kelly’s. He quickly took his seat at a nearby table and waited for the waitress to approach him. While he was waiting his mind drifted to Courtney and the dream he had about her last night. As if on cue he looked up to see the beautiful blonde descending the stairs with a gorgeous smile on her face. She walked over to his table and said, “Good Morning....Would you like some company?”

“Yes I would love some,” he said gesturing to the seat in front of him. “So i take it you must be a morning person.”

“Definitely, I love seeing the sun rise in the morning. “I take it your not,” she giggled.

“I am after I have my morning cup of coffee.”

“Oh I see....”

They both looked up when the waitress stopped at their table.

“Hi my name is penny...What can I get you?”

Jason looked at Courtney telling her to order first

“I would like a cup of coffee.”

“Ok what would you like?“ she said looking at Jason.

“I would like a cup of coffee to pleas,” he said smiling sweetly.

“Ok I will be right back,” Penny said walking behind the counter.

Jason looked at Courtney with a smile and a surprised expression on his face.

“What are you looking at me like that for,” she asked

“Well I just thought you would be some one to order herbal tea and a bunch of nutritious food.”

“Oh so because I’m a woman I can’t drink black coffee?”

“I didn’t say that,” Jason said knowing he had made a mistake.

“Trust me I am not some weak little woman who doesn’t know how to take care of herself. In fact I am pretty sure I could take you down without even breaking a sweat.”

“I’m not to sure about that,” Jason said with a laugh knowing she couldn’t have possibly had the training he had. “Maybe you should show me some time,”

“Maybe I will,” she said seriously.

Before Jason could respond his phone began ringing loudly. “Excuse me I have to answer this,” he said taking out his phone.

“Morgan.”

“Hey Jase I need you to get over to my penthouse. I think it’s time for you to meet your new partner and begin your first assignment.”

“Ok I will be there soon ok?”

“Yeah bye man,” sonny said.

“Bye,” Jason replied before hanging up his phone.

“So who was that,” Courtney asked.

“That was my boss. He needs me to meet with him. I’m sorry but I have to go.”

“It’s ok. I have some business I need to take care of any way. Maybe I’ll see you later?”

“Yeah I would like that,” he said standing up. “Hey penny could you fix those two coffee’s to go?”

“Yeah sure no problem,” she replied.

“It was nice seeing you again,” Jason said as he pushed in his chair.

“You to,” Courtney said watching him pay the woman at the ash register and walk out the door.

As the door to Kelly’s closed Courtney’s cell phone began to ring. Taking it out she sighed deeply before answering.

“Mathews.”

“Yes, this is Corinthos. Can you meet me at my penthouse. I want to introduce you to your partner Mr. Morgan.”

“Morgan,” Courtney though. “That name sure does sound familiar.” “Yeah sure Mr. Corinthos where do you live?”

“I live in Harbor View Towers on the top floor Penthouse.”

“Ok I will be there, Courtney said hanging up her phone going to the cash register.

“Miss,” penny say. “The man that was with you already paid,” she said with a smile.

Courtney couldn’t help but love how sweet Jason was. She had only met him a few days ago and yet she was already beginning to feel something for him. What she didn’t know but definitely something. “Thank You,” she said rushing out the door.

The elevator stopped on the top floor, Jason walked to Sonny’s penthouse and went inside. He noticed his friends at the wet bar fixing a drink.

“Good morning Jase...Why do you look so tired?” he asked jokingly knowing that Jason was no a morning person.

“”I guess you could say that.” he replied.

“Well I arranged for you to meet your new partner. She seems to be an early riser, I called her after i called you and she was already awake.”

“Did you just say she? First you knew I didn’t want a partner and now you want me to work with a woman?”

“I wouldn’t underestimate her...she was the best in Atlantic City and I’ve heard she might even be able to take you out.”

“Yeah sure,” Jason said with a smirk on his face. “Look I met a girl a few nights ago and I kind of like her so please don’t pull any crazy stunts and try to set me up with my partner...we don’t need another Carly.”

“Ok man I promise, but I may not need to do anything. I have a feeling you will like her all on your own.”

Just as they finished talking there was a knock on the door. Jason stood up and walked to the fireplace. He was looking at the pictures hoping she “she” wasn’t there.

“Ms. Mathews it’s nice to see you,” Sonny said opening the door.”

“Nice to see you to,” she replied quietly.

“Come on in I have some one I would like you to meet.”

Courtney walked in and noticed a man standing in front of the fire place. Something about him seemed familiar but she couldn’t quite figure it out.

As Jason stood at the fire place pretending not to notice the woman that was there he couldn’t help but think that there was something familiar about her voice.

“Jason, come over here for a minute,” Sonny said trying to get his attention.

Slowly Jason turned around shocked at the sight he saw. Courtney was standing in front of him with Sonny waiting to be introduced as his partner.

“Jason?” Courtney gasped.

“Courtney? What....How is this possible?”

“Wait a minute...did I miss something,” Sonny asked. “You two already met?”

“Yeah Sonny, Courtney was the woman I was at Kelly’s with. We met a few days ago when she hit my bike with her car.”

“Well how convenient,” Sonny laughed.

“So your the woman that Sonny said could probably take me down?” Jason asked.

“Yeah that’s m. I told you at breakfast that I know how to take care of myself. I’ve been in this business for many years.”

“But your a woman...and...”

“Jason I wouldn’t go there,” Sonny warned. “You don’t want to get yourself in trouble.”

“Your right,” Jason said. “I’m sorry It’s just I’m still pretty shocked. I never thought you would be in my business let alone my partner.”

“Well now you know why I couldn’t talk about what I do. Now I can’t even keep that from you,” she laughed.

“How about you two go over to Jason’s penthouse to talk because I have a meeting. Jason will fill you in on preparations for your new assignment Ms. Mathews.

“Yeah sure,” Jason said. “Follow me Courtney.”

“Oh and Ms. Mathews. The other guards are setting you up a penthouse. You can pick up the keys tonight.”

“Ok that you,” she said walking out the door towards Jason’s penthouse.

Once Jason and Courtney were across the hall Sonny took out his cell phone.

“Carly meet me a the cellar in 15 minutes. We need to talk about Jason. I Love You bye.”

Hanging up his phone Sonny stepped into the elevator and watched the doors close.

“So...” Courtney said sitting down on the couch. “What did you tell Sonny about me?”

“What makes you think I told Sonny anything about you?”

“Because when you were talking to him you said “This is the woman I was at Kelly’s with and that meant you had to have told him about me.”

“Well you caught me.” Jason said with a smile.

“Yes I did. So what did you tell him,” she asked.

“I’m not going to tell you,” Jason said playfully.

“Yes you are,” Courtney said and before Jason knew what was happening Courtney had him pinned down on the floor.

Without thinking Jason brought his lips to Courtney’s and gave her a deep and passionate kiss which he was sure told her way to much.

Pulling back Jason looked at her. “I just told Sonny that I met an amazing woman and couldn’t quit thinking about her.”

“You did...Well Mr. Mogan what do you suggest we do about that? You know it’s against the rules of the job to be involved with your partner.”

Leaning forward Jason whispered in her ear. “I say we have fin and break every rule we can...I’m not very obedient.” Jason said with a grin creeping across his face.

“I’m glad you said that because neither am I,” She said bringing him into another kiss. “Remember on this...If you hurt me...I am just the person to take care of you,” she said playfully.

“I’ll remember that,” He said pulling her body close and getting lost in the moment.
