Chapter12
“Wow. It’s gorgeous.” Carly gazed at the diamond on Courtney’s finger.
“Please, I know for a fact that you helped Jason pick it out.”
“How?” Carly asked in surprise.
“I know you, and I know Jason.”
Carly laughed, “Busted, but don’t tell Jason you know.”
“I won’t.” Courtney smiled. The women were sitting at Kelly’s eating their breakfast.
Elizabeth came up to them, “Would you like some coffee?” She asked in an overly exaggerated friendly voice.
“Yea.” Carly gave her an equally fake smile back. Elizabeth’s eye caught the glittering diamond on Courtney’s finger, but she pretended not to see it. It was bad enough that she was still alive, and all the murder charges were dropped; now she was engaged to Jason. After serving them their coffee, she stormed off into the kitchen.
“She so saw it.” Carly laughed savoring the _expression on Liz’s face.
Courtney tried to suppress her laughter, but failed miserably. They were soon both in fits of laughter. “What’s so funny?” They jumped at the sound of Jason’s voice.
“Oh, nothing. I just think that Liz got yet another reality check.” Carly smiled as she motioned for Jason to grab a chair.
Jason rolled his eyes, imaging what Carly must have done. He sat next to Courtney at the table. The three of them sat talking for another hour, enjoying each other’s company. Finally, Carly announced, “Well, I have got some stuff to do before the club opens tonight, so, I’ll be heading out.
“Bye Carly.” Jason and Courtney waved as they headed out of the restaurant.
Jason and Courtney walked into the penthouse. Once they were inside, Jason pulled her close to him. “Why are we waiting?”
“What?” Courtney asked confused.
“To get married, why are we waiting?”
“Well, what do you suggest we do?”
“Let’s get married this weekend.”
“Okay…What’s going on, why do you have the sudden urge to get married so quickly?”
“There is nothing going on, I just want to be married to you.”
“There is no time to plan Jason? This weekend is in three days. Where do you expect to get married in three days? Or where do you expect to get a minister in three days?”
“I’ll take care of it…I’ll take care of everything, just tell me what you want.”
Courtney laughed, “I can’t believe we are doing this.”
“Okay, so who do you want to be there?”
Courtney didn’t even have to think about it, “Just you, obviously, Sonny, Carly, Michael, Bobbie, Emily, oh and Marco, Max, and Johnny could use a day off.”
“Nobody else?” Jason asked in surprise.
“Nobody else.” Courtney reassured him. “Let me take care of inviting them, okay? Oh, and Carly and I can go tomorrow to get a dress.” Jason nodded, as he pulled Courtney into an intimate kiss.
“This Saturday!” Carly asked in surprise.
“I know. It’s really fast, but…I don’t know it just feels right.”
“Honey, the only thing I’m worried about not having enough time to find a perfect dress.”
“Well, if we get started now…”
Carly didn’t even need Courtney to finish her sentence. She quickly got up from the couch, and dragged Courtney out of the penthouse saying, “We’ll call my mother and pick her up on the way.”
“This Saturday!” Sonny’s reaction mimicked Carly’s.
“Yea. And I want you to be my best man.”
“Of course I will.”
“Thanks, man.” Sonny pulled Jason into a brotherly hug.
“Just, don’t hurt her, or you might not make it through the night.”
Jason laughed knowing that Sonny was only half kidding.
“So, where are you going to have the wedding?”
“At the church, Reverend Moore as already agreed.”
“And who’s all coming?”
“Courtney wants a small wedding, just you, Carly, Michael, Bobbie, Emily, Marco, Max, and Johnny.”
“We in that case, we had better get me you and Michael some tuxes. I’m sure Carly has already got Courtney shopping for a dress. What is it with women and clothes?”
“Courtney is a coat kind of girl. I swear, she has a different one for each day of the week.”
“Let’s go.” Jason nodded and followed Sonny out of PH4.
