Chapter18
Jason paced in front of the alter. He could tell that he was driving Father Moore, and Bobbie who
was sitting alone in the pews crazy, but it was all he could do at the
moment. Johnny, Marco, and Max only
stared at him in amusement. He
continued pacing until finally, he heard music begin to play. He forced himself to stop, and look up. The doors opened revealing Carly, and Emily,
each holding one of Michael’s hands.
They were both wearing pale green dresses that perfectly hugged their
figures. Their hairdos were identical;
they were both twisted up in a bun.
Jason tried to concentrate on watching them walk down the isle, but he
found himself staring at the door, anxiously waiting Courtney’s turn to walk
through them.
Emily and Carly stood off to the opposite side that he was
on. The doors opened once again,
revealing Courtney whose arm was linked with Sonny’s. His breath was caught in his throat. She was wearing a simple white dress with spaghetti straps. It hugged her figure tightly, but hung loosely
at the bottom. Her hair was pulled up
in an elegant twist with the exception of a few strands that hung over her
face. She smiled at him, and he smiled
back, still amazed by her beauty. Sonny
and Courtney began to walk down the isle, both trying to look calm. It seemed to take forever for her to get the
alter. He stood there, hands folded,
still bewildered by the sight of her.
His only thought was, “How did I ever get this lucky
Courtney arrived at the alter. Carly winked at her, and nodded for her to stand next to
Jason. Courtney did so. For a moment, she got lost in Jason’s eyes,
as she always seemed to do. The sound
of the reverends voice pulled her back
“Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to witness the
joining of Jason Morgan and Courtney Matthews in holy matrimony
Most of the reverends words, Jason and Courtney didn’t
hear. They seemed to get lost in each
other, almost forgetting that there was anyone else in the room. They both were pulled back when he asked them
to recite their vows. He then asked for
the rings. Carly handed Courtney the
ring, and Sonny did the same for Jason.
“Do you Jason take Courtney to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and
to hold, love and to comfort, through sickness and in health for as long as you
both shall live?"
“I do.” Jason
smiled, and slipped the ring on Courtney’s finger
“And do you Courtney take Jason to be your lawfully wedded
husband, to have and to hold, to love and to comfort, through sickness and in
health for as you both shall live?”
“I do.” Courtney also put the ring on Jason’s finger.
“Then by the powers invested in me by the state of New
York, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride.” Jason leaned down.
“I love you.” Jason
smiled. He then pulled her into a
passionate kiss, happiness overcoming him.
Courtney was falling into Jason’s kiss. A wave of nausea crept over her. She abruptly pulled back from him, trying to
steady herself as a memory swept into her mind. Unable to stand, she fell to her knees. Jason’s voice, calling her name was distant, she only felt his
strong grip on her arms, and his warm hands upon her face. Her mind pulled her back to the plane. She saw the pilot, he was strapping
something to her…a parachute pack, one of two.
He shoved open the plane door, and threw her out. Before she fell into the dark sky, she saw a
man, pointing a gun at the pilot, hand slowly pulling back the trigger. She recognized him. It was the same man she woke up to many
hours later, the same man that tried to kill her, the same man that she had
shot in order to escape. It was Kyle
Teller.

Courtney slowly opened her eyes. Jason was kneeling beside her, while Sonny sat next to her
holding her hand. She noticed Carly
carefully holding her head on her knees.
When Sonny noticed Courtney’s eyes flutter open, he squeezed her hand
tighter, relieved to see her awake.
“Courtney?” Jason
put his hand to her face. Courtney
shook off the nausea that she was still feeling, and forced herself to sit
up. “What happened?” Jason asked tucking a strand of hair that
had fallen loose behind her ear.
“Kyle. He’s the one
who made the plane go down.”
“Kyle Teller?” Sonny
asked surprised, “The one who supposedly found you near the sight of the crash,
knocked unconscious?”
Courtney nodded, knowing that there was no mistaking who she
saw. “The DNA test, the one that proved
the pilot died, was there anything on there about a shot wound?”
Sonny shook his head, “Not that I remember, but the body was
burnt to a crisp, they were lucky to even get a sample.”
“Kyle shot him.
Right after the pilot…what was his name.”
"David." Sonny said.
“Right before David pushed me out of the pane. He risked his own life to make sure that I
had a parachute, to make sure that I got out okay.” Courtney’s eyes were filling with tears knowing that it was her
fault that he was dead. “I suppose that
shows loyalty.”
Sonny nodded, “Or just a good guy.” Jason noticed that Courtney was on the verge
of tears, and he quickly pulled her into his arms, rocking her back and
forth. She wept on his shoulder.
Sonny quickly stood up, and walked up to Johnny. “I want you to get me information on Kyle
Teller, NOW!”
“Sir, we have been working on it, nothing has come up.”
“Sonny.” Courtney
suddenly called his name. “There is
more I need to tell you. Kyle, he…It
was a week after he found me, and I seemed to be forgetting more and more…I
just kept forgetting more then I was remembering. One night I did remember something, it must have been something
about my family, or my life in Port Charles, because he started freaking
out. The next night, he…he had a gun,
he shot, but I got away. I ran into
this closet upstairs, I got his extra gun and…” Courtney quickly broke off.
“I don’t know if he’s alive or not.
I just grabbed my passport, a lot of money, and ran. He was alive when I left. I was too scared to call the police; I
didn’t know what else to do, so I ran.”
Courtney now had tears streaming down her face. Jason wiped them away, hurting just by
seeing her cry.
Sonny turned back to Johnny, “Check every hospital and
morgue anywhere within one-hundred miles of Winter Haven,
Florida.”
Johnny nodded, but didn’t move.
“Now!” Sonny yelled. Johnny quickly ran out of the church.
“Well, at least we made it through the ceremony.” Courtney laughed.
Carly smiled, “You guys are married!”
Both Courtney and Jason smiled at each other, once again
forgetting the whole world that was around them.
“Courtney I am so happy for you!” Carly squealed. Emily,
Carly, and Courtney were sitting in the same room that they had gotten ready
in. They had changed out of their
gowns, and were all dressed more comfortably.
“But okay, now there is something I need to tell you both.” Courtney and Emily looked at each other,
both curious. “Well, Sonny and I…Well,
I…"
“What is it?!”
Courtney and Emily yelled in unison.
“I’m pregnant.”
Both of the girl’s eyes immediately opened wider, “Carly I
am so happy for you!” Emily exclaimed.
“When did you find out?”
“A few weeks ago.”
“Weeks!” Courtney
asked in amazement, “Why didn’t you tell me sooner?”
“Well, when I first found out, you had no idea who I
was.” Courtney laughed at that remark,
“Then you got engaged, then the wedding, so…”
“How far are you into the pregnancy?” Emily asked.
“Two months.”
“And you can’t even tell!”
Emily smiled. “I am so happy for
you.” She pulled Carly into a hug. Carly then pulled Courtney into the hug
also. The three of them sat in the
room, all smiling uncontrollably.
