Chapter23

The sun flooded into the bedroom. Jason sat there staring at his beautiful wife as the golden light illuminated her face. She suddenly stirred, fluttering her eyes open, only to lock them with Jason’s. “Morning.” He smiled at her.

“Morning.” Courtney smiled back.

“So where do you want to go?”

“What do you mean?”

“How does Barcelona sound to you?”

“Spain?!” Courtney sat up in the bed, and looked surprised at Jason.

“In the car in the snow, remember?” Jason too sat up.

“Yea, I remember. Not that I am complaining, but why?”

“A figured that you might like to get away…But it could be our honeymoon, that is what newlyweds are supposed to do, right?”

Courtney grinned, “You’re serious?”

“Why not? We’ll leave tomorrow.” He smiled as he pulled Courtney into a kiss. He pulled her closer to him; the force however, caused Courtney to fall into his lap. She let out a laugh as he continued to kiss her. The moment was interrupted by Michael running into the bedroom, and hopping on the bed.

“Hey Michael.” Courtney smiled as she wrapped her arms around Jason’s neck.

“Aunt Courtney, you’re back.” Michael sat cross legged on the bed.

“Did you sleep okay?”

Michael nodded, “But I’m hungry.”

Courtney laughed, “I think that I can do something about that. What do you want?”

“Pancakes.” Michael grinned.

“Done,” Courtney hoped off Jason’s lap. Michael grabbed onto Courtney’s hand, and they went downstairs. Jason got out of bed, and pulled on a pair of jeans and a black t-shirt. He then followed them. By the time he made it into the kitchen, Courtney was already in full cooking mode. Michael was sitting on the counter watching as she shuffled back and forth collecting what she needed.

He stood in the doorway watching her in amusement. “What?” She laughed as she noticed Jason standing there with a foolish grin on his face. “Come on, what’s so funny?” Courtney put down the flour bag she was holding.

“You.” Jason laughed. Courtney shook her head. She reached into the flour bag, grabbed a handful, and threw it at Jason. He glared at her, trying to be intimidating, but his smile crept through. He ran at her, and picked her up, his arms wrapped around her waist. Courtney’s shriek soon turned into a laugh as Jason spun her around. Once he let her down, he leaned in to kiss her, but pulled back. Michael had thrown yet another handful of flour in his face. Courtney gave Michael a high five as she fell into fits of laughter. “You are going to be sorry.” Jason quickly grabbed some flour and threw it at Courtney; he then did the same to Michael. The three of them were soon in a full fledged battle of the flour.

“What the hell is going on here?!” They all stopped in their tracks and turned to face Carly.

“Hey, Carly.” Courtney gave her an innocent smile.

Carly stood there eyebrows raised, “I leave him alone with you two, and look what happens. You can’t even cook without having fun. You know how I feel about fun.” Carly’s stern face was now bright with a smile. “If you need more flour, you know where I am.” The moment Carly had walked out the door, Courtney turned to Jason.

“I think we may need some more flour.” She then turned to Michael, “Do you still want pancakes?”

Michael nodded. Courtney smiled, “Okay, then I am going to go get some flour from Sonny’s. I’ll be right back.”

“Can I stay here more often, Uncle Jason?” Michael smiled up at Jason.

Jason only laughed in response, “Why don’t we get you cleaned up.” Jason walked upstairs, Michael following.

Chapter24

“How long are we going to be there?” Courtney looked up at Jason over her open suitcase.

“Until we want to come back.” Jason smiled at her.

“That’s not a precise amount. I can’t really pack on ‘until we want to come back’ now can I?” Courtney placed her hands on her hips and raised her eyebrows at Jason.

“Then screw the packing, we’ll buy new clothes.”

Courtney let out a short laugh. “I’m packing my own clothes, Jase. If you feel the need to buy me more, I won’t complain.”

Jason shook his head in amusement, he then began to grab handfuls of clothes out of the closet, and threw them into the suitcase. “What are you doing?”

“I’m packing.” Jason stopped for a second to give Courtney a quizzical look.

Courtney laughed, “Wow, you are the worst packer ever.” She shook her head, and then began emptying the suitcase. She took each item of clothing, and neatly folded it. Jason set on the bed, and let her do all of the packing. Nearly a half an hour later, Courtney had packed two suitcases with enough clothes to last at least two weeks. “And…Voila, I am the master.” Courtney took a dramatic bow.

Jason stood up, and wrapped his arms around Courtney, “Carly wants us to come over tonight for a little farewell dinner.”

“Really, because I had something else in mind.” Courtney grinned playfully.

“There will be plenty of time for that, I promise.”

“I trust you to see to it.” Courtney smiled as Jason drew her body closer to his, pulling her into a kiss.

“Look who decided to show up.” Carly came down the penthouse stairs just as Jason and Courtney entered. “Did you finish packing?”

Jason nodded, “We’re all set.”

Sonny then walked out of the kitchen, “Good, you guys are here. There is something that we need to tell you. I left Carly in the kitchen to watch the turkey…”

“Sonny, why the hell would you do that?” The words poured out of Jason’s mouth before he could stop them.

“Let me finish. I left her in there, and she burnt the turkey.”

“I knew it.” Jason laughed.

“Hey, it was Sonny’s fault, even Michael told him not to leave me alone with cooking!”

“So, who’s up for ‘the grill’?” Sonny smiled, his dimples seemed to stand out more then usual.

“I could go for any food right now.” Courtney laughed.

“Okay then, let me go get Michael, and we’ll go.” Carly headed back up the stairs.

A few moments later, Carly and Michael came bounding back down the stairs. The Five of them left the penthouse feeling like a complete family once again.

Chapter25

The five of them were seated at a table in the center of the room. After their food was ordered, the four adults sat in conversation about random things. Michael sat watching the four of them, getting very bored. “Mommy,” Michael interrupted the conversation, “I’m tired.”

“Don’t you want to eat before you go to bed?” Carly brushed some of her son’s fiery red hair away from his face.

Michael nodded, “But can we eat fast?”

“What if after dinner, I take you over to Grandma’s house so that I can spend some time with your aunt and uncle before they go on their trip.” Michael nodded, and smiled. “Okay, I am going to call my mother, I’ll be right back.” Carly grabbed her purse and walked into the bar where it was quieter.

By the time she made it back to the table, their dinner had arrived. They ate slowly, because they were constantly starting new conversations and forgetting about what was in front of them. When they had finally finished, Carly and Michael got up from the table. “Bye Aunt Courtney.” Michael smiled as Courtney hugged him, and kissed him on the cheek. “Bye Uncle Jason.” Michael hugged Jason also.

“I’ll be right back.” Carly waved as she and Michael walked out of the restaurant.

Nearly two minutes after Carly had exited; Scotty Baldwin came in waving his badge. He came to a stop beside the table that they were seated at. “Look who we have here, the Corinthos Morgan clan. It’s good to see you alive, Courtney.” Scotty smiled at her.

“I wish I could say the same to you, Scotty.” Courtney smirked at him.

Scotty rolled his eyes, “She is defiantly your sister Corinthos.”

“Do you have a point?” Jason glared at Scott.

“I got a complaint about you Morgan. He said that you came in here flailing your gun.”

“You sure are desperate, aren’t you Scotty?” Courtney rested her chin on her hand. “You interrupted our evening for a phony complaint that was probably never filed. Can you honestly tell me you think Jason would wave a gun around in a public place? How stupid do you think he is…Don’t answer that.”

“Get out of here, Baldwin.” Sonny stood up to face Scott. Despite the height difference, Sonny was much more intimidating then Scott.

Scotty shook his head, “You’re not worth it. Trust me on this, though. One of these days, I will lock the both of you up. I came this close to locking your sister up before; why not add her into the package.” With that, Scotty walked out of the restaurant, angered by his defeat, once again.

Chapter26

Courtney gazed out of the window as the plane flew over Spain. “God, it’s beautiful.” Courtney sighed. It was, she had to admit that, but there would always be a fear in the back of her mind, a fear that at any minute, there would be a man emerging, and aiming the gun at her. Courtney shook the image out of her mind as Jason wrapped his arms around her. He kissed her on the cheek, and she sighed, happiness overflowing her.

“Mr. Morgan, we’re above the airstrip. Here’s Barcelona Spain.”

“We’re actually here, I can’t believe it.” Courtney smiled as she held onto Jason’s arms that were still draped around her.

“Neither can I.” Jason smiled. Courtney turned her head just enough to place her lips on Jason’s. They broke their kiss at the sound of the pilot’s voice once again.

“We’re beginning our decent”

“And at what hotel are we staying at?” Courtney asked in an overly done British accent.

“Let’s just say it is a very nice one. And we’ll be checking in under the names Mr. and Mrs. Morgan.”

Courtney laughed, and turned back towards the window. Jason placed his chin on her shoulder, and gazed out of the window also. “Spain, here we come.”
