Title:Looking Back Author:Chloe Feedback:Jamgirl2129@aol.com Rating:R Category:Romance/Angst/Drama Type:Work In Progress Summary:Jason broke up with Courtney on Sonny's orders and now he reads disturbing news in the paper,and it twists the knife of pain into his heart deeper. ________________________________________________________________________________ Whats Going On: -Jason is heart-broken still -Jason has a hard time with Sonny -Courtney moved 3 days after the break-up,she's in Atlantic city. -Carly still trys to talk Sonny out of his decision ________________________________________________________________________________ Prologue: The Loft Jason sat on the bed in thier loft.God how he missed her.Jason stared out the window as he held the picture of him and Courtney to his chest.He prayed day and night that the pain would go away.Yet still,2 years later the pain still occured day and night he couldn't escape it.He often told himself it will go away but after the first year past and the pain still was there he knew it would thier for the rest of his life because he had let her go and now his heart would never be complete and neither would his soul.So there he sat in the loft that they shared 2 years ago.He had went to the loft every night to just try to fill the void with memories,but every night he when he would leave the loft the void was still thier.All Jason had left for his life his memories which is why he was always Looking Back. ________________________________________________________________________________ Atlantic City ( Courtney's Apartment ) Courtney laid awake in her bed.She was happy,Aidan made her happy.She looked next to her and thier Aidan lie peacefully next to her a smile braced his lips as he dreamed.Courtney looked down at the beautiful engagement ring Aidan had given her 4 hours ago.She was getting married.As she continued to look at him a memory braced her thoughts: ~Flashback~ "Courtney,we need to talk"Jason said entering the Loft "What about"Courtney asked with a smile "We can't see each other anymore"Jason said "What"Courtney asked confused "I said were over"Jason repeated "Why" "I don't feel for you the way you feel for me,I don't love you"Jason said He instantly regretted saying he didn't love her when he saw her face fall. Chapter 4 PH 4 "Did you have any luck"Sonny asked "Sonny your the reason thier not together and that Courtney's getting married, not to mention that Jason is falling in a downward spiral day by day"Carly commented "I know,I'm the reason that Jason is losing it"Sonny said "I never meant to"Sonny whispered "I know you were trying to help,no one knew Courtney would move on and Jason would be destroyed Sonny"Carly soothed "I wish I could do something,but Courtney's getting married who knows if she even loves Jason anymore"Sonny questioned "She does,I saw it in her eyes"Carly said ________________________________________________________________________________ The Docks "Jason"a voice came Jason slowly turned around he recognized the voice.As he turned he saw his girl,his angel,his life.She looked beautiful in the moonlight.She wore hip hugger jeans that hugged her perfectly and a baby blue tank top with a white sring jacket over it.She didn't have on her beautiful smiled,instead she looked worried.He finally got the courage to say something. "Hi"Jason whispered Courtney walked down the stairs and step by step she inched closer to Jason,looking him in the eyes she hugged him.He gratefully exepted it and wrapped his arms tight around her as did she.She felt so complete within his arms.Suddenly she realized how long they had been hugging and pulled away and stepped back.Jason was quickly dissappointed when she pulled away and stared into her eyes.Jason looked towards his hands trying to figure out what to say.His eyes caught on to the beautiful diamond,her eyes followed his and her eyes finally landed on the diamond too.Jason looked up at her as a tear escaped his eye.She couldn't believe it,he really was losing it.Was Carly right did Jason really love her and want to be with her.No,was it possible. "So how have you been"Courtney asked suddenly Jason just nodded "Thats good,I've been good"Courtney replied "Congradulations"Jason choked out as he looked down at the ground trying to hold back the tears. "Thank you"Courtney whispered "I hope your happy"Jason said with a weak smile Courtney nodded. "Somewhat"she replied "Jason look I-"Courtney started but was cut off. "I got to go"Jason said cutting her off and walking away. Courtney sighed.This was going to be hard! ________________________________________________________________________________ Port Charles Hotel (Knock On Door) "Here you are sir"the bell man said handing Aidan some champaigne "Thank you"Aidan replied taking the bottle "Have a good evening sir"the bellman replied Aidan nodded and shut the door ~ 10 minutes later Courtney walked through the door. "Whats all this"Courtney asked "For our perfect night"Aidan replied picking Courtney up off her feet and laying her on the bed. That night as Courtney and her fiancee Aidan made love her thoughts were on nothing but Jason. ________________________________________________________________________________ The Point Jason was so upset as he drove to the point.All he could see was him and Courtney kiss and then imagine her and Aidan kissing and making love,it made him sick.He loved her so much and he had lost her.Now that he knew he had lost her for good thier was no reason for him to live. Jason put his bike into reverse and backed up about 20 feet from the edge of the cliff.He pushed on his handle full speed and drove the 20 feet back to the curve before driving right off the curve and over the cliff. ________________________________________________________________________________ Chapter 5 Port Charles Hotel Courtney lay in bed next to Aidan after thier wonderful night,she looked over at the clock 10:00am.She turned on the tv to the news. This is a breaking story last night Mob enforcer to crime lord Michael Sonny Corrinthos Jr,Jason Morgan drove his motorcycle over the cliff at the point of Port Charles.District Attorney Scott Baldwin does not know if the driver lost control or it was an attempted suicide.Jason Morgan is in critical condition.He is at General Hospital.Now in other news. Courtney turned off the tv and jumped out of bed. "Sweetie,whats wrong"Aidan asked "Jason was in a car accident,he's barely alive I need to be with him and my family"Courtney said throwing on her clothes "I'll come"Aidan said jumping from bed "No,this is family and serious,I'll call you later"Courtney said as she rushed out the door. ________________________________________________________________________________ General Hospital Sonny and Carly stood quickly as Monica exited the operating room.Monica walked straight over to Sonny and Carly. "How is he"Sonny and Carly both asked "Well,he is critical.Recovery is a promise,but he needs to make it through the rest of his surgery,then he should be fine"Monica said as she walked away "How is he"Courtney asked standing behind Sonny and Carly. "How did you"Sonny asked "It's all over the news"Courtney cut in "Are you serious"Carly asked in anger "Yeah"Courtney replied "Thats great Jason was in a motorcycle accident and it's all over the news"Sonny said "It wasn't an accident it was a suicide attempt"Carly said "Suicide"Courtney replied Carly nodded. "Jason was going down that spiral I went through two years ago,so it could have been suicied"Sonny said "Courtney turned her back to Sonny and Carly as Monica walked back over. Did I make Jason attempt suicide,Courtney asked herself. "Well,he is in recovery now.So it should be a clean stretch"Monica said with a smile. "Courtney,you should go first"Carly said Sonny nodded in agreement. Courtney nodded back hesitantly was she ready. ________________________________________________________________________________ Port Charles Hotel As Aidan threw on the rest of his clothes he promised that he would not lose Courtney to her ex-love no matter what ! ________________________________________________________________________________ Chapter 6 General Hospital (Jason's Room) Jason slwoly opened his eyes he was confused at first,he didn't exactly understand what he was doing here.Then it flooded his memories.He suddenly remebered the painful meeting between him and Courtney and then seeing the engagement ring.He remembered driving over the point cliff in attempt to end his life,but he hadn't suceeded he was alive. (Knock On Door) The little noise bothered Jason's head and he closed his eyes. "Jason"Courtney whispered Jason opened his eyes and he watched Courtney slowly approach him and take a seat next to her.He looked at her with his eyes half shut because his head hurt so much. "Yeah"Jason said "What were you thinking riding over that cliff"Courtney asked in a whisper "That you were gone"Jason replied "I'm not gone Jason,I'm right here"Courtney replied "Your engaged"Jason choked out tears forming in his eyes. "That doesn't mean were not friends"Courtney whispered "I can't be your friend,I don't even want any friends"Jason replied Courtney grabbed Jason's hand. "I don't care if you don't want me for a friend,I'm still your friend"Courtney said "Courtney ever since you left 2 years ago,my life went with you.I can't eat or sleep.I miss you day and night.I love you more than anything,without you I'm empty.That doesn't matter though,I let Sonny run my life and it lost me you.Your happy now and I'm glad really,but deep down I hate it with all my heart.It's my own fault though that you moved on I let you go"Jason said tears streaming down his face.Courtney tried to wipe them away but they were falling so frequently,thats her hands became covered in his tears.That was it for Courtney she couldn't sit thier anymore it hurt to not tell Jason she still loved him.She repeated in her head Aidan,Aidan,Aidan,but Jason never escaped her mind. Aidan peered through the crack in the door,he was furious this guy was going to take Courtney away from him right under his nose.He stormed off and away from the room his anger in full boil,and full destructive mode.He could kill,he was so angry. "You rest"Courtney whispered rubbing her thumbs over his eyes and then standing and leaving.Courtney's heart was breaking all over again what was she to do.She got on the elevator and walked to her car and then drove back to the Port Charles Hotel. ________________________________________________________________________________ Port Charles Hotel Aidan was pacing inside thier hotel room when Courtney entered "Aidan whats wrong"Courtney questioned "That Jason is going to steal you from me"Aidan said "No he wont"Courtney replied "Your right he will get you over my dead body"Aidan said grabbing Courtney's arms "Let go"Courtney said "Your mine,not his"Aidan whispered before letting her go. Courtney watched Aidan storm into the bathroom and slam the door.This wasn't Aidan Johnson,jealousy changed him.He was acting like A.J. "Oh Lord"Courtney whispered thinking about A.J. and his jealous rages. ________________________________________________________________________________ Chapter 7 General Hospital (Jason's Room) As Jason quickly finished dressing,he sat on the bed and became lost in his thoughts.He thought back to his visit with Courtney.He saw something in her eyes that he use to see when they were together two years ago,maybe it was caring that he saw or maybe it was even love.Could Courtney still love me even though she loves Aidan?Jason asked himself when he was interrupted. "How you feeling"Carly asked entering Jason nodded "Well sign here and you can go home"Carly said motioning Jason to sign his release papers.Jason sighned the papers and together he and carly headed toward the waiting room. "Hey"Sonny said as he saw Jason and carly come into view "Hey"Jason replied "I'll bring those to the desk"Sonny said taking the release papers and walking away. "I need to talk to Courtney,where is she staying"Jason asked "Port Charles Hotel,but don't be stupid"Carly said Jason nodded"Thank you"he said as he ran onto the elevator.Carly watched the elevator doors close and turned around. "Wheres Jason"Sonny asked as he walked back over to Carly "He went to go talk to Courtney"Carly said hesitantly "Good,maybe he will get her back"Sonny said "Honey are you feeling alright"Carly asked "Yeah why"Sonny asked "Well,because two years ago you broke them two up and now Courtney is engaged and you want them two together"Carly questioned "Don't get me wrong Aidan seems great,but I know now that Jason and Courtney belong together.I also know that if Jason doesn't get Courtney back he will slowly be destroyed.I don't want to see that happen to my best friend and brother,no matter what"Sonny said "I'm proud that your behind a Jason and Courtney reunion"Carly said with a grin That grin frightened Sonny he knew what was coming"Oh no"Sonny stated "Say it"Carly demanded with a wry smile "No way"Sonny replied "Sonny"Carly demanded "Fine.Carly you were right"Sonny said quietly with a grin "Thank you"Carly said as she and Sonny stepped on to the elevator. ________________________________________________________________________________ Port Charles Hotel Courtney laid on her bed watching tv when she was interrupted. (Knock On Door) Courtney opened the door and was shocked to see Jason on the other side. "What are you doing out of the hospital"Courtney asked "I got released,can we talk please"Jason asked his eyes full of hope. "I can't talk now"Courtney stated looking at the closed bathroom door.Jason followed her gaze and was confused as to why Courtney was kind of nervous scared like she was when Jason was around during the stalking because A.J. got jealous. "Meet me at Kelly's in an hour we can talk then"Courtney said Jason nodded"Okay"Jason replied Courtney shut the door. "Your not meeting Jason Morgan"Aidan stated coldly as he came out of the bathroom. "Jason is an old friend,I can see him if I please"Courtney replied "Try ex-lover"Aidan taunted "So,we dated we were friends first and I will not abandon Jason and I's friendship"Courtney stated "So how many times have you slept with him since we got back here"Aidan asked "What"Courtney questioned shocked "You heard me"Aidan said as he grabbed a hold of Courtney ever so tightly "Jason and I are over"Courtney whispered "You lying slut"Aidan screamed he smacked Courtney hard against the face causing her to crash to the ground. "Nobody cheats on Aidan Johnson and gets away with it"Aidan yelled I'm not cheating on you,I love you"Courtney choked out "Liar"Aidan screamed as he pulled the baseball bat out from under the bed. Aidan raised the bat over his head. "You'll pay"Aidan whispered as he brought the bat closely to Courtney and then swung it. Courtney screamed as Aidan hit her again and again with bat,finally she gave up and let her body leave reality and enter the darkness as she lost consciousness. As Jason was about to step onto the elevator after walking the long corridor from Courtney's room he heard a scream. "Courtney"Jason yelled as he ran back down the corridor towards Courtney's room. Chapter 8 Port Charles Hotel Courtney screamed as Aidan hit her again and again with bat,finally she gave up and let her body leave reality and enter the darkness as she lost consciousness As Jason was about to step onto the elevator after walking the long corridor from Courtney's room he heard a scream. "Courtney"Jason yelled as he ran back down the corridor towards Courtney's room. Jason rushed down the long corridor he swore it took forever.Thousands of scenarios ran through his mind.He finally reached the door."Courtney"Jason yelled trying to open the door.Finally he lost control and completely broke the door down.He lost it when he saw Aidan still hitting Courtney with the bat.Jason ran to Aidan and through him into the wall.Jason picked Aidan up by the neck and began punching him until Aidan finally surrendered.Jason let the poor excuse of a man drop to the floor as he quickly ran to Courtney.Kneeling beside her,he picked her up into his arms she was completely limp.He then carried her out of the hotel and to where she belonged. ________________________________________________________________________________ PH 2 Jason carried Courtney into his penthouse and laid her down carefully onto the couch.He sat on the coffee table in front of her,he studied the damage.She had a lot of cuts and bruises on her arms and legs.Thier was some blood coming from her mouth and nose.Jason went into the kitchen and returned with a first aid kit.He cleaned up all her cuts and put ice on the real bad bruise.He cleaned the blood from her nose and mouth. "Courtney can you hear me at all"Jason asked No reply.Jason entwined Courtney's fingers with his. "Courtney please,come back to me"Jason begged No reply,Jason released a few tears "I love you Courtney,baby please"Jason beggad again In Courtney's head she could hear Jason speak she tried to find his voice and make her way back to him,but she was to weak and tired to find where his voice came from. "Courtney,your scaring me give me a sign so that I know you can hear me"Jason asked Courtney lightly squeezed Jason's hand,he knew then she could hear him. "Okay baby I know you can hear me,just rest"Jason whispered as he slid her over and joined her on the couch.He held her in his arms and prayed she would be alright and that the loser Aidan hadn't done to much damage! ________________________________________________________________________________ PH 4 "Mom"Michael asked "Yeah"Carly asked "Is daddy alright"Michael questioned "Why sweetie"Carly asked "He seems so sad"Michael replied "Well,daddy regrets breaking up Aunt Courtney and Uncle Jason,it makes him sad"Carly said "Can we try to cheer him up"Michael asked "Thats a good idea,lets head down stairs and try it"Carly said as she grabbed Michael's hand and exited her and Sonny's bedroom. ~ Sonny sat on the couch lost in his thoughts.He felt so guilty.His best friend was losing it because he broke his sister and him up.Courtney gave a vibe that she still loved Jason,so even if she is engaged she is still hurting.Carly was being hurt because Jason was her best friend and she hated to see him in pain.Michael was getting hurt because well his hole family was hurt from>HIM!He was to blame.He was brought from his thoughts when Carly and Michael came downstairs. "daddy"Michael started but was interrupted by the knock at the door. "Come in"Sonny said Marco opened the door. "Mr.Corinthos,Mr. Morgan just arrived with Ms.Matthews he was carrying her,she was unconscious and looked like she had been beaten"Marco reported to his boss. "Thank you"Sonny said as he stood up and motioned Carly to follow.Together the two headed to PH 2> ________________________________________________________________________________ Chapter 9 PH 2 Jason sat on the table acroos from Courtney's sleeping form on the couch,He held her hands with all he had,he never wanted to let go.Jason heard the soft click as the door opened,he looked up.Jason smiled weakly at Sonny and Carly. "What happened,Is she alright?"Sonny asked worried "I think so,she just needs some rest"Jason replied "What happened?"Carly asked "Aidan"Jason stated coldly "He beat her"Sonny asked Jason nodded "Why,he seemed pretty nice when we met him,why would he beat her?"Carly asked "He thinks she was cheating on him with me and his jealousy took over,I guess"Jason replied "Were you guys,you know"Sonny asked Jason "Ofcourse not"Jason replied in Courtney and his defense "Okay,I was just wondering"Sonny said Jason nodded "And wheres Aidan now?"Carly asked "Like I care,but last I know he was knocked out cold from a punch he took from me"Jason replied "Okay"Sonny said "Make sure she gets some rest,and well if she feels up to it tell her we would love to see her tomorrow.If not thats fine"Sonny replied Jason nodded Sonny left Carly walked over to Jason. Courtney's head jerked up quickly as the door flung open,expecting to see Sonny or Carly. "Aidan"Courtney whispered in terror "Jason,Help!"Courtney screamed as Aidan approached her Hearing Courtney's scream Sonny and Carly quickly hurried across the hall,no guards were on duty. ________________________________________________________________________________ Chapter 10 PH 2 "Whats wrong Court?Am I scaring you"Aidan asked "Get the hell away from her"Jason said running into the living room. "Get the hell out of my building"Sonny said as he and Carly entered. "Everyone is so d*mn tense"Aidan said "Please get him out"Courtney begged looking up at Jason. "Yes,Jason save Courtney from big,bad,terrible me"Aidan mocked"Your the mob enforcer" "Lets go"Jason said as he grabbed Aidan by the arm and pushed him out the door.Jason followed Aidan into the hallway and shut the door to PH 2 behind them. "I promised you I would get Courtney back,were soulmates.You made it alot easier by beating her"Jason said "She is a slut"Aidan said "No you just don't know the word "respect" when it comes to women"Jason said angrily. "You take this"Jason said handing Aidan the diamond he gave Courtney"I don't want to see you near her ever again"Jason threatened "That is Courtney's decision to break our engagement,not yours"Aidan replied "You think Courtney is going to marry a man who beat her.She loves me get over it"Jason sneered"Courtney and you are over,Aidan" Jason then pushed Aidan onto the elevator and watched the doors shut before heading back to PH 2. Jason walked in his PH to find Sonny and Carly on either side of Courtney and comforting her.Sonny was a good brother and Carly was a good sister-in-law. "Aidan's gone"Jason said as he approached the three sitting on the couch. "Thank you"Courtney replied "Are you alright sis"Sonny asked Courtney nodded "We'll see ya later then"Sonny said as he and Carly left.Jason then walked over and joined Courtney on the couch. "I'm sorry about Aidan"Jason whispered "I sure do pick them don't I"Courtney laughed but then couldn't hide the pain as tears overcame her laughter. "It's not your fault"Jason said as he pulled Courtney close to him. "I mean first A.J. and now Aidan,whats wrong with me?"Courtney asked "Nothing"Jason replied "I haven't made one decision in my life,that hasn't caused me heartbreak"Courtney said snuggling closer to Jason as tears still streamed down her face. "What about us"Jason asked "Yeah,Jase we worked out real well"Courtney said sarcastically. "I'm sorry,I hurt you"Jason said.Courtney looked up at Jason,her eyes were filled with pain. "I don't think god believes I deserve to be happy"Courtney said "I didn't think god believed I deserved to be happy either because of my line of work,but then I met you"Jason replied.Courtney looked up at Jason shocked by his words. "You don't know this,but the only reason were not still together today is because Sonny threatened my life.I was scared and I listened to Sonny and forever I will regret it.I caused you pain Courtney,the pain of a broken heart and the pain of a beating from that loser Aidan."Jason said he looked so ashamed. "Sonny threatened your life"Courtney asked "Don't hold it against him,he knows we belong together and he is all for us being together"Jason replied "I'm still confused as to why you think Aidan is your fault,you would have never been with him,If I hadn't of broken us up"Jason replied "Oh"Courtney stated "I'm so sorry"Jason said "What did you mean we would still be together if Sonny hadn't threatened your life"Courtney asked "I mean your my soulmate and I believe I'm yours.I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you and I still do. "I'll help you get her back,but in order to do that we have to get Jason out of the way"the man said "But how he's Jason Morgan"Aidan asked "Trust me I know his weak links if thier is one thing I know it's how to destroy my brother"
