Title: Love Everlasting
Author: Natasha (Tasha)
Feedback: lilbrattygirl13@hotmail.com
Rating: PG.
Category: Long, I think.
Type: Romance, a bit of an Episode rewrite and some references to the Mob, I’m not sure if it will be significant as it goes on, though. It may or may not.
Summary: My version of what happened just before the kiss on the 12/29/03 episode. Everything that happened with Brian and the Haunted Star happened, I just took it from a couple minutes before the kiss and rewrote it.

(This is my first fan fiction so I’d love to have feedback and whether you want me to continue or not)

Chapter One

Courtney stared at the man before her, her husband. His piercing blue eyes bore into her and held the emotion that his face refused to show. All the love he had for her, all the pain he felt because of their separation was there because she refused to go back to his lifestyle. Now, she didn’t even know why. What he’d done, allowing Sonny to leave to kill Alcazar without stopping him, didn’t seem so bad anymore. He had to do what he had to do and he’d done it. Carly wasn’t even angry with Jason for it and she was the one who should be angry, not Courtney.

She loved him, with everything that was in her. At first, she didn’t think she could ever love him as much as she did, but it had happened. The separation from Jason was killing her and he’d admitted that it was killing him. Jason hadn’t even had to tell her, Courtney could see it whenever she saw him.

“Jason…” she said, letting the name she loved so much leave her mouth.

He heard her say his name and reached for her face, which was already inches away from him. Jason brought his face down to hers and kissed her.

The kiss was explosive and filled with the love they’d both felt ever since they’d first kissed in the rain, now over a year ago. It seared itself onto their lips, and when they pulled away, Courtney could still feel his love dancing on her lips.

“Jason, I don’t want to be away from you. I hate it. I can’t think about anything else.” She said, admitting that this was the last thing she wanted, to be away from him and living in a room above Kelly’s. It was lonely and painful. She was married to Jason and she should be home, she knew. But, what if he didn’t want her to come home? What if leaving him had pushed him away, even though he still loved her?

Jason listened to her words and could hear her heart and could hear her love for him ringing in his ears from his words. Even so, he could see their love in her eyes and his heart wanted to melt right there. He wanted to take her in his arms and carry her the entire way home.

“Will you please come home with me? This isn’t your home and it’s killing me that you’re living here instead of at the penthouse, where you belong. We’re married and we love each other. We can get through this.” He told her, watching her face for any trace of what she would say next. A tear was all that came out of her eyes.

“I can’t help that I didn’t stop Sonny. I couldn’t, it would have torn all of us apart even further. But, I can promise you that I will never walk away from us, not ever. There’s a hole in my heart that no one can fill, except you, when you come home.” Tears were coming down his face. He didn’t care, although he was sure it would have puzzled a passerby who knew him. Jason Morgan was supposed to be too heartless and tough to cry.

Courtney knew she was tired of pretending that she didn’t want to come home. She told that lie to herself, just to stop from hurting. It hadn’t helped. If anything, it had made her hurt more and the longing to be home with Jason and fall asleep in his arms had grown to be unbearable.

She saw tears coming down Jason’s chiseled, beautiful face, and saw the pure, raw hurt that he was feeling, now in a different way, that was equal to her own. They both hurt and she was the only one doing this to them. He wanted her home, he’d asked her to come home.

“Jason, I will always love you. No one else can ever take your place.” The words came out just as she took his face and brought it to hers. Courtney rested her forehead against his as she looked into his eyes and felt the electricity of them bore into her heart.

A tear escaped Courtney’s eye as she looked into his and made itself down her face, finally resting on her soft lips. Jason resisted the urge to brush it away and instead slowly brought his lips to hers and kissed it away in a kiss so sweet and tender that it took his breath away as well as hers.

The sweetness of Jason’s kiss made time slow down for Courtney. She felt as if she could stay there forever, that time was stopped until they pulled away, not needing anything except his loving kisses to live off of.

Unwillingly, Courtney pulled away and touched her forehead to his. She had to say something before she completely lost herself in him. Pulling back just a little, she kept her hand on his cheek and lovingly caressed it.

“Yes, I will go home with you.”

The words were what he’d been waiting for for weeks. He couldn’t believe his ears, not wanting those words to just be some figment of his imagination, maybe she’d said something else and he had only heard what he wanted to hear.

“You will?” he asked, not sure if he’d heard her correctly.

“If you really still want me to.” She answered, now unsure of herself, thinking that maybe he regretted asking her to in the first place.

“That’s all I want.” Was his answer.

Jason picked her up and smiled down at her. She was coming home, coming back to him. Now, it didn’t matter that she’d taken so long, it only mattered that she was. She loved him.

“Jason, what about my stuff? It’s still up in my room.” Courtney asked.

“I’ll send Marco to pick it up” he answered, certainly not wanting to let her down to go back up to her room and then wait for her to come down. She could survive without clothes and whatever else she’d taken up there for now.

“Okay then, Mr. Morgan. Take me home” she said, giggling as he carried her, her hands around him neck, never wanting to let him go.
