Chapter 6 ~
~PH2~
Five months had passed and Jason and Courtney still weren't
pregnant. Month after month, they were
disappointed when the results of the blood test would come back negative, and
the stress was starting to take its toll on their marriage. They agreed to give it one more month, and
then try in-vitro as a last resort.
Jason and Courtney were on edge. Jason hoped in-vitro would not be necessary, not wanting to put
Courtney through an even more intensive procedure. And Courtney was realizing that a baby might not be in their
future. Sonny and Carly saw what this
was doing to their friends and were starting to worry. So Carly convinced Sonny that they had the
perfect way to help them relieve this stress.
Courtney was downstairs cooking dinner, while Jason was
showering, when suddenly they heard Michael yell from the hall, "Uncle
Jason! Aunt Courtney! Uncle Jason! Aunt Courtney!"
By the time Courtney made her way out of the kitchen, Johnny
had already opened the door for the little redhead to come running in. "Michael what's wrong?"
"Nothing's wrong! Something's great!"
Jason also came running down, pulling a t-shirt over his wet
head. "What? What happened?"
he asked, nearly tripping down the stairs.
Courtney tried to stifle her laugh.
"Nothing! I just have to tell you something!"
"Well what is it?" Jason asked out of breath.
"Mommy says we're all going to the island together for
a family vacation!"
"What?" Courtney said, looking to Jason. "Can we?"
"Well if Sonny is saying it's ok, I don't see why
not."
She squealed and jumped into his arms. "We haven't been there in sooooo
long."

As soon as Jason and Courtney stepped into their cabana,
they felt the relaxation and ease wash over them. Jason wrapped his arms around his wife and kissed her neck. "I think this is going to be good for
us."
She closed her eyes and relished in being in his arms. "Mmm, just what we need, time to relax
and not think."
"Exactly, so what do you want to do?"
"The plane ride sorta wore me out."
"Want to just stay here and rest up? You know Michael and Morgan will have us
building sandcastles and swimming bright and early tomorrow."
She turned in his arms and kissed him. "Thanks for bringing me here."
"It wasn't like it was my idea."
"Yeah, but you didn't have to agree."
He just smiled and held her, knowing this vacation would be
good.
The next morning, Jason and Courtney enjoyed a quiet
breakfast and then got ready to meet Sonny, Carly, and the boys at the
beach. Jason came out of the bathroom,
and saw his wife standing in front of the mirror, putting her hair in a simple
ponytail. He took a moment to admire
her tone body and then came up behind her, wrapping his arms around her
mid-section. "I love you in a
bikini," he moaned into her ear.
She smiled and looked at their reflection in the
mirror. They did look pretty damn good
in their suits. Her eyes sparkled and
she turned to him, "So are you saying, you don't love me in regular
clothes?" she teased.
"Never," he told her before nuzzling her neck.
Soon, they joined the rest of the gang on the beach. Morgan was being his silly self by knocking
down every sandcastle Michael tried to build.
Michael on the other hand, was not finding it amusing. He got frustrated and gave up. "Mommy, can I go in the water?" he
asked.
"If an adult goes with you." Michael looked at the other three adults
hopefully.
"I'll go," Courtney said, getting up. She removed her sarong, and Sonny's eyes
grew wide, when he noticed a series of blue and purple bruises on his sister's
hips and back.
"What the hell happened to you? Were you attacked? Jason have you seen
this?" he started yelling.
"Sonny, calm down! It's just from the fertility
injections. I'm fine. Come on Michael."
The two of them headed for the water and Sonny turned to
Jason concerned, "That's normal?"
Jason nodded.
"She says it doesn't hurt, but sometimes I catch her wincing if she
moves the wrong way."
"Maybe you were right about this whole fertility
thing," Sonny told him.
"Too late now."
"Oh stop it you two!
It will all be worth it once you bring that beautiful baby home for the
first time," Carly reminded them.
"Yeah…"
Jason acknowledged, hoping Carly was right.
After a long day at the beach and dinner with Sonny and
Carly, Jason and Courtney found themselves back at their cabana. Courtney sat on the lounge out on the deck,
gazing at the stars, when her husband came out carrying two glasses and a
bottle of red wine. He handed her a glass.
"You know I really shouldn't, I'm supposed to be
keeping my body free of toxins," she said, looking up at him.
"Come on one glass won't hurt, plus we're not supposed
to be thinking about that while we're here."
"You're right," she took the glass and held it up
for him to pour her a glass. He did and
poured himself one, before setting the bottle on the table and joining her on
the lounge. He wrapped his arm around
her and she snuggled against him as they sipped their wine.
"Mmm, it's a beautiful night huh?" she said.
"Gorgeous," he replied staring down at her.
"I really love it here."
"Me too," he said, his eyes never leaving her.
"I just feel…so…at peace here, you know?"
"Mmm hmm."
She finally looked back at him, and blushed at the way he was staring at
her.
"God, I love you," he told her as he brushed his
hand through her hair. His head came
down to kiss her. A slow kiss quickly
turned passionate as Jason rolled himself on top of her. Their kisses grew more and more intense until
they were interrupted by a shatter.
"Oops," Courtney breathed as they looked down at
the shattered wine glass she dropped.
They both laughed and Jason put his glass aside before continuing the
assault of kisses on his wife. That
night, they made love under the stars, an evening that would forever change both
their lives.
