Chapter 2: Let's Tie the Knot

"What the hell are you doing?" Brenda screamed at Jason.

"I'm sending yo away."

"What are you talking about?"

"You're ruining everyone's life, so you're going away."

"I still don't know what you're talking about!" she yelled at him.

"Ever since you've come back, you've been ripping Sonny and Carly farther apart each day! I won't let you ruin this!" he yelled back.

"I haven't done anything with Sonny and it's bad enough I have to convince Jax we're just friends because Skye is paranoid."

"I don't care what you do with Jax, but leave Sonny and his family alone," Jason threatened.Brenda suddenly got a mischievous look on her face. "I just got the worst idea, and you're going to hate it!"Jason looked at her with a confused, yet scared look on his face. Brenda got the hint and explained ",If you want me to leave everybody alone, then you'll marry me."

"What?! I'm not marrying you! I can't stand you!" he screamed blatantly.

"Then I guess I'll just keep getting in the way of everything," she said mockingly.

"What would we tell everybody though?"

Brenda thought for a moment then said ",Just tell them that we're in love and for support during my sickness."

Jason didn't like this idea at all. He did however know it would make his boss's life much easier. Then, Courtney popped into his head. He thought of the kiss they had shared in the rain. But he knew he could never have her because she loves A.J. This thought made tears well up in his eyes. He looked at Brenda and without enthusiasm said ",Fine. Let's go."

She shook her head and told the driver where to go. Jason just stared out the window, with thoughts of Courtney lurking in his head.

Meanwhile at A.J. and Courtney's apartment...

"Hey!" What took you so long? I was starting to get worried," A.J. said with slight concern. Courtney went over to A.J. and gave him a hug and stood in his embrace for a moment. A.J. backed up slightly and looked into her eyes. "What was that for?"

"Just for loving me," Courtney stated.

He gave her a smile and she smile back. "Are you OK?" he asked.

"Yea, I...I'm just a little shaken up about tonight. I hope Jason will be OK."

A.J. scowled when he heard his brother's name mentioned. "I'm here, so everything will be fine," he said then kissed her forehead ",Jason is tough, he can take care of himself."

Courtney gave him a small smile then said ",I'm going to bed now." A.J. nodded and she went off to bed. That night, the events of the night replayed in her head. She was frightened, but she didn't crave the embrace of A.J., but to her surprise, Jason's. The thought of being in his arms, and the feel of his lips pressed against hers, brought comfort to her. She smiled remembering how wonderful his scent was and how safe she feels with him. With that thought, she was finally able to get some sleep.

Chapter 3: The Aftermath

"Well, we did it. We just did the thing to make everybody's lives better," Brenda said with slight excitement.

"Yea...everybody's but ours," Jason thought depressingly.

"You go announce it to Sonny and Carly, and I'll tell Jax and Skye," she ordered. Jason just looked at her with an icy stare. Brenda got out of the black Sedan and entered the hospital. Jason made his way into the apartment building where Sonny lived. All he could think was ",What the hell did I do?"

When Jason reached Sonny's floor, he said hey to Marco and went in.

"Hey Jason," Sonny greeted. He noticed the strange look on his face and immediately asked ",What's wrong?"

"I something important to tell you, Sonny. You better sit down," Jason said.

Sonny sat down with a worried look on his face, while Jason fixed himself a quick drink. "Sonny," Jason started ",Brenda and I got married last night."

"What the hell were you thinking? You don't even like Brenda!" Sonny exclaimed.

"Whoa! Calm down Sonny! Let me explain.

"Well, go ahead. Give it your best shot."

"OK. Last night, Brenda and I realized we had hidden feelings for each other. So we acted on impulse did what we thought was best," Jason cringed at the thought of Brenda.

"I think you're crazy," Sonny bluntly said ",Just a few days ago you couldn't stand to even hear Brenda's name. There has to be another reason."

"Things change. Also, I want to be there for Brenda as her sickness worsens. I...I guess I just want to be there for her."

"All right man. Whatever you feel is for the best, you have my blessing," Sonny said with slight sarcasm. Jason nodded and walked out the door, and there in the hall, was Courtney.

Meanwhile at General Hospital...

Brenda enters Jax's hospital room and greets him with a big smile.

"Hey Brenda!" Jax greeted her happily.

She gave him a small hug and said ",I have something to tell you."

Jax gave Brenda a concerned look. "What's wrong? Did something bad happen?"

"No, no, it's nothing like that!" It's just...I married Jason last night."

He got a shocked look on his face and asked in confusion and utter disbelief ",Jason Morgan? Sonny's right hand man? A guy you can't even stand?!"

"Yea, that's the one."

"But why? You can't even stand the guy?"

"Yea, well...we realized we had hidden feelings and decided to go with them."

"Well...I hope you're happy with him," he said with a sad and disappointed look on his face.

"Yea...I hope I will be," she said, not so happy herself.

Meanwhile back outside PH2....

Jason couldn't believe his eyes. "What is she doing here?" he wondered to himself.

"Jason...I need to talk to you...we need to talk," Courtney said.

"Ok...uh...we can go in my penthouse and talk." He opened the door and walked in. "Have a seat," he patted the spot next to him on the couch. "Can I get you a drink or something?"

She took the spot next to him and said ",No thanks, I'm good."

"So...what's on you mind?"

"I have to talk to you about what happened the other day."

"Uh...ok...go ahead. I needed to talk to you about it too."

"OK, what happened yesterday can't happen again. I love A.J. and I don't want anything to ruin that," she started but was cut off in mid-sentence.

"I understand that and it won't happen again," he assured her.

"OK. That's good. But I have to admit, it wasn't bad, and I can't stop thinking about it," she said quietly. When she saw a smile appear on Jason's face, she blushed and smiled back.

"I've been thinking about it too. I don't think it was bad either," he responded, still with a smile on his face. He gave a little laugh.

"What?" Courtney asked.

"It's just that...that, I never thought that would happen with you, but I'm not complaining," he stated with a smile. They sat there, for a moment, staring into each other's eyes. Here they were, two people, obviously with a lot of chemistry, and they can't do anything about it. Finally, Jason broke the silence ",I have to tell you something."

"What is it?" she asked slightly worried.

"I...well...last night Brenda and I got married." Suddenly, neither of them were in a good mood. Jason could see the happiness drain out of her eyes and full with heartbreak. Even though they couldn't act out their emotions with each other, they still longed for each other. Jason looked down at the floor because he couldn't stand to see her so hurt.

"Congratulations," Courtney managed to say ",I hope you two will be very happy together."

"Thanks...me too," he said without being very convincing.

Courtney felt unshed tears build up in her eyes and decided she had better go before they break through ",Well...I better get going to work now."

"OK...do you want me to give you a ride?" Jason offered hopefully.

"No, I just need to be alone and take a walk," she sighed.

"All right then, be careful...bye," he said depressed.

"Bye," she replied and quickly exited the penthouse. When she got out of there, she leaned up against the door and let the tears flow. Sensing her presence on the other side, he too leaned against the door. He ran his hand through his hair and sat there thinking of her. His heart was aching. This was pain he has never felt before. Suddenly, a thought hit Jason ",Am I falling in love with Courtney?"

Chapter 4: The Stalker is Revealed

A few weeks had gone by since Jason married Brenda, and it had been hell for the two of them. Jason ached everytime he saw Courtney and knew she felt the same way. They had been avoiding each other because of that reason, even though being apart was driving them both insane. Jason was just about to go break the ice with Courtney when he gets a call.

"Jason! I need you to come over here quick! Unless you're busy with Brenda, I can get Sonny..." Courtney's voice trailed off.

"No, I'll be right there!" Jason said. He was scared for Courtney's life, so he ran out of the penthouse without telling Brenda anything when she nagged about it. He leapt into a car and sped right over. When Jason arrived he didn't bother knocking, but just burst right in.

"What's wrong? Are you hurt? Are you OK?" he questioned with much concern.

"No, I'm fine," she reassured noticing the concern in his voice.

"Then what's wrong? Why did you need me so urgently?"

Courtney looked at Jason and then to the floor and pointed ",That's what's wrong."

Meanwhile at General Hospital...

Brenda had just arrived and was about to head over to Jax's room when she was stopped by Skye.

"Well, if it isn't Brenda. How's the convincing coming along? Hmmm? You haven't forgotten our little deal have you?" Skye snarled.

"Oh, hey Skye. The convincing is done with."

"Oh really? How can you be so sure?"

"Because I married Jason Morgan, that's how!" Brenda said with a slight smirk awaiting her reaction.

"Wow. My little brother finally tied the knot, but I never thought he would stoop so low," Skye snobbishly said ",Hope you're happy." Skye walked off before Brenda could come up with a come back. Brenda just sighed, annoyed, and proceeded to see Jax.

"Hey, Jax."

Jax looked up, surprised to see her. "Well, hello. Why aren't you with Jason?"

Brenda didn't like the tone of his voice or where this could lead, so she simply stated ",He's off being a hero. You know, it is his job. So, I decided to come see my second favorite guy." They both let out a small laugh.

"By the way, I have to show you something," Jax said with slight excitement.

"What?"

Jax got up to the side of his bed, stood up, and walked towards Brenda. They both let a bright smile shine and Brenda squealed with excitement ",Oh my God, Jax! You're walking!" She ran over to him and gave him a big hug.

Right when they hugged, Skye walked in. "Well, isn't this a happy reunion."

Meanwhile back at Courtney and A.J.'s apartment...

"Oh my God," Jason exclaimed looking at the motionless body. "What happened here?"

"The stalker just came out of nowhere and started attacking me. So I ran into the kitchen and grabbed the gun you gave me. He started to come near me again, so I shot him twice," Courtney explained, tears starting to form.

Jason went over to Courtney and gave her a hug. She thought about pulling away, but felt so safe in his embrace. For a moment, they were both so happy, they got lost in their own world, forgetting everything in the real world. Jason finally pulled away and looked into her eyes and reassured her. "Everything is going to be OK."

She nodded her head and responded ",What do we do now?"

"Call an ambulance for whoever this is, then, I'll take you to the police station."

Courtney did just that. Then, she realized, she didn't know who it was. "I have to know who it is. I need to know who is trying to ruin my life," Courtney told Jason.

"Good. You deserve to know."

Courtney slowly stepped over to the person lying on the floor. She kneeled down, and she moved her quivering hand to the mask. She got a grip on it and in one swift motion, ripped it off his face. Courtney sat there shocked at who the stalker was.

"COLEMAN!" Jason shouted. "I knew it was him! I should've finished him when I had the chance. Now, I've put you through all this!"

"No. No, Jason, this is not your fault. You're not the stalker. You didn't do this. You did your job, to protect me. And I thank you for that."

Jason smiled at her and said ",Anytime."

Chapter 5: Suspicious

They heard sirens stop in front of the building. Courtney opened the door so they could come right in and take the scumbag to the hospital. "I...I better call A.J. after they take Coleman away."

"Yea, that's a good idea."

The paramedics appeared in the doorway, rushed over to Coleman, and checked his vitals. "What happened here?" one of them asked.

"He was in here when I got home. He tried to attack me, but I hit him and ran to get a gun to keep him back. He lunged at me again, I had given him a fair warning about this, so I shot him twice," Courtney explained.

"Well, you need to go to the police as soon as possible so you can file a report," one of them explained. The paramedics put Coleman on a stretcher and hauled him off to the ambulance.

Courtney called A.J. on his cell phone and explained the situation. After a lot of reassurance, they agreed to meet at the police station. "I better get down to the police station. A.J. is going to meet me there," Courtney said shakily.

"Come on, I'll give you a ride."

"No. A.J. is already mad enough, the last thing he needs is for him to see you with me. I'll take the bus." She saw the worried look on Jason's face. "It's OK. I'll be fine. The real stalker is in the hospital, so there's nothing to worry about."

Jason nodded. "Are you sure you'll be OK?"

"I'll be fine."

He walked toward the door, gave her one last look, and walked out the door. Courtney put on her coat, grabbed her purse, and left for the police station.

"A.J.!" Courtney shouted. She ran over and squeezed him tight.

He squeezed her too. A.J. was finally glad to be getting such attention. "Are you OK? Did that creep hurt you? Because if he did, I swear I'll..."A.J. threatened as he shook his fist at the air.

"No, I'm not hurt. Just a little scared and glad to be here with you." They gave each other a smile, and he gave her a gentle kiss on the cheek.

"Mrs. Quartermaine, I need you to file a formal complaint," ordered Taggert.

"Gladly," Courtney said.

"All right then, come with me," Taggert pointed to his office. A.J. and Courtney followed him. Courtney went through the story again for the third time. She signed a few papers, and they were out of there.

"I want to go to the hospital and tell Coleman right where he's going," Courtney scoffed. A.J. thought Coleman could use a little harassment, so they hopped in the car to go see him. When they arrived, Courtney was ready to go into his room, but explained to A.J. she needed to do this alone, and he protested but she just walked right in and locked the door. "You're sick! Why would you do this to me? I never did anything to you! You need to get over you obsession with "Daisy" and get on with your life! But wait, you can't, because you're going to jail!" Courtney screamed out insults.

Coleman moaned and said groggily ",A.J." Courtney got a stunned look on her face.

Suddenly, a doctor knocked on the door and ordered her to open it. She went over to the door and opened it. The doctor informed her that visiting hours were over, and she needed to go home. Courtney simply nodded and A.J. lead her out of there. When they got home, Courtney sat on the couch in A.J.'s embrace. He sat there trying to reassure her that everything would get better for the both of them. She didn't hear his lies, the only thing she heard was Coleman's word echoing in her head.

When she woke up the next morning, A.J. was gone. She was glad he was because she needed to think things out. She got a shower and got dressed and headed for the hospital to sort things out with Coleman.

"What room is Mr. Coleman in?" Courtney asked a nurse.

"Let me check," the nurse said and typed on the computer ",Room 106."

"Thanks," Courtney said and walked to his room. She cracked the door open because she heard Coleman having a conversation with a familiar voice.

"You did good work," A.J. told Coleman. "She's putty in my hands now. Sure, she was around Jason for some time, but it's just a sacrifice I had to take. Now, I know she'll never leave me." A.J. pulled up a briefcase from the floor. When he opened it, it was full of money. "I threw in an extra bonus for being so convincing and getting shot," he said slyly. Coleman was weak, so he just nodded and motioned for him to put it in the closet.

When A.J. turned around he saw Courtney standing there looking shocked with tears in her eyes. "Courtney...I...I can explain!" he tried to calm her.

"It's...it's over...A.J." she stammered, trying to hold back the tears. He started to come toward her with his arms outstretched. She slammed the door and ran to the elevator. She ran home to get her head on straight, but she just couldn't stay there. She knew exactly where she was going to go.
