Summary: After an intense kiss in the rain, Jason and Courtney realize they have deeper feelings for each other than they realized. Will they let love conquer all or will obstacles keep them from finding true love and happiness in each other?


Chapter 6: Moving In


Jason was on the couch taking a nap when he was jolted out of sleep by a loud boom of thunder. He got up and stretched. He went to the kitchen and was about to get a glass of water when he heard a knock at the door. He opened the door and there she was.

"Courtney, what's wrong?" he asked with much concern.

"Oh, Jason. Today has been horrible," she said depressingly.

"You're soaking wet. I'll go get you some sweats to put on. They might be a little big, but hey, it's better than nothing." Jason ran upstairs, grabbed her the clothes he promised, and came back down ",Go get changed, then we'll talk about whatever happened."

She gave him a small smile, took the clothes, and headed
upstairs to change.When she came back down, Jason was sitting on the couch. He saw her and patted the seat next to him. "Tell me everything that happened, and I'll do whatever I can to help."

She took the seat next to him and started to explain ",Today, I went to the hospital to talk to Coleman and figure out why he did this. But when I got there, A.J. was already in his room talking to him. I thought he was there defending me. Instead, he was there paying Coleman for stalking me." Tears started to form in her eyes again.

"I should have known that scum would do something like that! I swear I'm gonna..." Jason started to threaten, but Courtney cut him off.

"I don't want you to ruin your life because of me. You have a life with Brenda now, so I'll just let the police handle it." She looked into his eyes trying to seem brave. He pulled her into his embrace and tried to make her believe he would make everything better. Courtney smiled as she sat there with him holding her. They were just sitting there, taking in the moment, and listening to each other's heartbeat.

Then they heard a familiar, annoying voice interrupt ",Well, isn't this sweet."

Courtney quickly pulled away ",Hey Brenda," she said blushing, yet smiling.

"Trying to steal my husband, eh?" Brenda said sarcastically.

Courtney noticed the humor in her voice, but disregarded it ",No. You don't have to worry about that, I just came over to talk to Jason about some stuff."

Jason was just staring at Brenda with a "Go the hell away, I'm busy right now" look. Brenda acknowledged the look and said ",Don't let me interrupt then, go back to what you were doing," Brenda said and was just about to walk away.

"No, it's OK. You two probably want some alone time, I'll just go," Courtney said in a hurry.

"No, Courtney, don't leave," Jason said as he grabbed her hand. Courtney's knees went weak at his very touch. She slightly blushed and gave him a smile. He smiled back. Brenda gave Jason that "explain what's going on to her now" look. Jason nodded and told Courtney ",There's something I need to talk to you about." Brenda proceeded upstairs and s sudden wave of shock went throughout Courtney's body.

They once again took their spots on the couch. "Brenda and I got married so that she could convince Skye that she didn't want Jax anymore and to keep her away from Sonny. We're not in love. we've never been in love, and never will be. But you can't tell anyone about this because she still has to get it through Jax's head," Jason explained.

Courtney was relieved to hear that they weren't in love. "Why are you telling me this?" Courtney wondered.

"Because I know I can trust you...and...because I care about you," Jason said with a smile as he looked into her eyes.

Courtney felt her face go red, and she returned his smile. "I'm glad you told me. I'm really happy that you can trust me and that you care about me because...I care for you too," she exclaimed with sheer happiness that she couldn't hide anymore. They grabbed each other into a warm hug. Then they pulled back and looked into each other's eye. They each saw the want in their eyes. Jason couldn't take it anymore. He pulled her in for a kiss. It started out intense, but then changed to a kiss full of romance and desire. Jason pulled away and just had to know ",Are you sure about this?" She looked at him, smiled, and kissed him giving him the answer he had wanted.

After they pulled away, both breathless, he looked into her eyes and gave her a genuine smile he had never given anyone before. "I'll take that as a yes," he said slightly laughing.

Courtney smiled and said ",Mmmm Hmmm." For a little while they just sat there on the couch, talking about their lives and what was to come.

"So, where are you going to stay, now that you've moved out of your apartment?" he asked hopefully.

"I don't know," she said playfully as she knew where he wanted her to stay.

"Well, since...since, I have an extra room, and Brenda has no say in it, why don't you stay here?" he asked, but it was more like a plead.

"OK!" she said not being able to hide her excitement.

"Great!" he exclaimed ",I'll go explain everything to Sonny, so that he'll have no worries." She nodded her head and gave him a hug and a quick kiss on the cheek. He smiled at her and walked over to Sonny's.

"Hey Sonny," Jason greeted him.

Sonny looked up from the drink he was making and replied ",Hey Jason. What's up?"

"I have to explain something to you, so you might want to sit down," Jason told him.

Sonny raised his eyebrows and took a seat. "What's wrong? Did something else happen to Courtney?" Sonny asked quickly.

"No, nothing's wrong, there's just been a few things changed." He took a deep breath and began ",Well, today, Courtney went down to the hospital to get some answers from Coleman, and she saw A.J. there. She overheard him thanking Coleman for a job well done and giving him money. So, she left A.J. and now she's going to live at my place for a while."

"I warned her about A.J. But at least she finally left him. Let's just hope he'll get a sentence behind bars. Thanks for letting her stay at your place," Sonny praised ",But don't be trying to make moves on my baby sister!" Sonny said with a slight laugh. He playfully hit Jason on the back.

Jason looked kind of shocked. "Is he serious?" Jason thought. He gave Sonny a nod and went back to his penthouse.

Courtney heard him come in and came into the living room to see him. "So, what did Sonny say?"

He's glad you're living here and away from A.J., but he doesn't want us to fall for each other." Courtney got a sudden look of disappointment on her face. Jason noticed it and decided he better say something before everything was blown out of
proportion. "But...that won't stop me from being with you. The feelings I have for you, they can't be locked away, so no one is going to stop me from being with you." He was shocked at how easily everything flowed out, but she always seemed to be able to do that to him.

Courtney looked up with tears in her eyes. "Oh no, what did I say wrong? I said too much didn't I?" Jason panicked.

Courtney smiled and walked over to him and put her hands on his face. "No, you said all the right things. That's exactly how I feel for you."

Jason smiled down at her. He pulled her in for a passionate kiss.

Later that night...

Jason and Courtney were sitting in each other's arms on the couch, just talking. They loved being able to know they could trust one another. Jason decided they better discuss what to do about Sonny and their relationship. "Courtney...what are we going to do about Sonny? He doesn't want us to be together."

Courtney took in what he said for a moment and replied ",Are you saying you don't want us to be together?" Courtney said as she pulled away from him.

"No, that's not what I'm saying. I really want to be with you, but do you just want to be together in secret? That seems to be the only way to keep it away from Sonny," Jason explained.

"If being together in secret is what it takes, then it's the sacrifice I'm willing to take," she said with relief ", being with you in secret is better than not at all." Jason smiled and so did Courtney. She returned her head back to his chest and wrapped her
arms around his waist. He put his arms around her. That night, they just slept there on the couch, listening to the sounds of each other's heartbeat.

That morning, Courtney woke up and grinned when she realized that she had fallen asleep in Jason's arms. She looked up at him and discovered him staring down at her.

"Good morning," he said as he ran his hand through her blond hair and kissed her lightly on the forehead.

"Good morning to you too," she said as a chill went down her spine from his touch.

"We should go get your stuff from your old apartment today."

"Yea, that'd be good, but not until you let me make you breakfast!" she exclaimed.

"OK, that would be nice. I can't remember the last time I've eaten breakfast," he confessed.

"OK then. I'll go make us an omelet and some bacon then." She got up to go toward the kitchen, but not before giving him a kiss on the cheek. After they ate breakfast, they headed over to Courtney's old apartment to get her stuff.

Chapter 7: Go Away


When Courtney opened the door to the apartment, she saw A.J. sitting there on the couch. He looked like he had been crying, considering the fact that his eyes were bloodshot and his face was wet. He ran over to Courtney and took her in an embrace ",Oh I missed you so much. I was worried about you all night. Are you OK?" A.J. tried to convince her that he had been worried for her.

She pushed A.J. away from her and said ",A.J. we're not together anymore. I'm not going to let you ruin my life anymore," she told him coldly.

"But you have to understand that I'm sorry and I love you so much Courtney!"

"Leave me alone A.J. Just let it go. I'm not coming back to you," Courtney said feeling annoyed.

A.J. lunged at her and tried to force her into a kiss."You're my wife, and you're going to stay with me forever!"

Jason walked in on this. He was suddenly filled with rage, and he grabbed the little rat and held him up against the wall by his neck. "YOU LEAVE HER ALONE! If you ever come near her again, I swear I'll kill you," Jason told the smaller man with an icy tone to his voice.

"Jason, put him down. As much as I want to see him hurt, he's not worth your time," she convinced him. He dropped A.J. on the floor and glared at him.

A.J. struggled to talk ",So, this is what you're leaving me for? My thug brother? If you think I'm going to sign the papers now, you're insane!"

"Well, A.J., I don't think you're in a situation for negotiations. If you don't sign the divorce papers and get out of my life, I'll press charges against you for being my real stalker," she said cunningly. A.J. got a surprised look on his face and Jason's face filled with wonder at how she ordered him around like that. He was impressed at how strong she could be. Courtney went and got everything important she needed.

Jason and her were about to walk out of the apartment when A.J. muttered out a few words ",This isn't over Courtney."

"A.J., yes it is." Courtney stormed out of the apartment.

"You remember what I warned you about," Jason shot back at him. He glared down at his alleged brother, walked out, and slammed the door. When they got into the elevator, Jason pulled her into a hug and sweetly kissed her forehead. "I'm so proud at the way you handled that creep."

She returned his hug and said ",I learned from the best." Then they headed back to his penthouse.

Later at Harborview Towers...

When Jason and Courtney stepped out of the elevator, they bumped into Carly. "Hey you two!" Carly greeted.

"Hey," they said in unison.

"What's with all the bags? Did something happen that I'm not aware of?"

"Yea, A.J. paid off Coleman off to stalk me, so I'm moving in with Jason for a while," Courtney explained.

"Mmm hmm," Carly said in a suspicious tone.

"Carly, it's not like that, so just drop it while you're ahead," Jason said slightly annoyed.

"Right, OK. It's just professional," Carly said sarcastically. She walked over to her penthouse and before she closed the she turned and commented ",Have fun you two!"

Jason just rolled his eyes and unlocked the door to his penthouse. He let Courtney go in first and carried in her bags.

"Ah, I see we have a gentleman on our hands," Courtney said slightly laughing.

"Yea, well, I try," Jason said with a smirk. "I'll go ahead and carry these up to your room."

"Thanks," she said with a smile. Jason headed upstairs and Courtney plopped down on the couch. She sat there and thought about how everything was changing for the better. She couldn't wait for her future ahead, especially since it was going to be with Jason.

Meanwhile at Jax's hospital room...

"Skye, it's not what it looks like," Brenda said.

"Well, what it looks like to me is that you two have just run back into each other's arms!" Skye accused.

"No, Skye, I was just showing Brenda how I can walk now," Jax said seeming annoyed.

"Yea, well, whatever it was, Brenda needs to get her hussy ass out of here, so I can have some alone time with my husband."

Brenda got a shocked look on her face and turned around to leave, but Jax grabbed her hand. ",No, it anyone's going to leave, it's going to be you, Skye. I won't let you disrespect Brenda like that."

"But...Jax..." Skye pleaded.

"Just get out!" Jax yelled at her.

Tears filled Skye's eyes as she glared at the two of them, and turned around and left.

"Jax, that wasn't necessary. I would've just left so you guys could've been alone."

"No. Skye can't go around treating people that are dear to my heart like that."

Brenda smile and Jax pulled her into a hug. "It's so good to have you back Brenda."

"Good to be back," Brenda replied while returning his hug. Jax looked into Brenda's eyes. They started to come closed to each other. Jax then pulled Brenda in for a kiss. It was full of longing and seemed to be making up for lost time. Brenda pulled back. "We shouldn't be kissing. Jax, you're married to Skye. I don't want to break up your marriage. You've found love, and I refuse to be the one to break it up."

"Brenda, just now, I've realized that Skye was just something used to get over you. My heart has always belonged to you, Brenda. I want to keep it that way," Jax said truthfully.

"What about Skye?"

"She's gone. You're the only one I want to be with," Jax said smiling. Brenda smiled. Jax pulled her in for another kiss. All the while, Skye was outside the door listening.

Meanwhile at Jason's Penthouse...

When Jason came back down, he heard Courtney on the phone. "A.J. tomorrow morning, you better sign those papers or you're going to jail for good!" Courtney said trying to maintain her temper. "OK, good. I'll see you in the morning in court!" Courtney said with frustration. She looked up and was startled to see Jason standing there.

"What was that all about?" Jason asked.

"Oh, it was A.J. I set a court date up for tomorrow morning. So I called to remind him. He started being his usual asshead self. I just reminded him of what would happen. He finally agreed. So tomorrow, I'm a free woman!" she exclaimed.

"That's good to hear. Finally, no more A.J.," Jason told her happily.

Just then, Brenda busted in. "Hey, Jason, we need to talk." Jason rolled his eyes. "Oh, come on, it's good news I promise," she said with excitement.

"I'll just go upstairs," Courtney said. She went upstairs to her room.

"What is it Brenda?"

"Well, I went to see Jax today and things went great!" Brenda squealed.

"Good for you. Why is this so important?" Jason asked, annoyed.

"Well, we've decided to get married!" Brenda yelped.

"Congratulations," Jason said. He was excited inside. He was about to be a free man.

"So, go tell Courtney you'll be back later, and let's go get annulled!"

Jason headed up to Courtney's room. "I gotta go somewhere. I'll be back later."

"All right," she responded. He went over to her and gave her a hug and a quick kiss. He headed back downstairs and ushered Brenda out the door. Jason was so happy this hellacious marriage was about to be over.
