Chapter Two
Three thousand miles away, on the same morning, Jason Morgan
stood at Vista Point, looking at the sky, which was marred here and there by a
few puffy white clouds. It was chilly for mid afternoon, but it was early
spring so that didn’t surprise anyone on the east coast of the United States.
Vista Point was where he could come to clear his head when
big things, new things, happened or something he’d never expected grabbed a
hold of him and refused to let go. This time, it was a bit of all three. He’d
woken up that morning after being jolted awake by one of the most vivid dreams
he’d ever experienced in his life or could remember.
The woman, the gorgeous blond with eyes he knew matched his
own, he could still feel her wet skin underneath his fingers. He could still
taste the kiss on his lips and it drove him wild that it was just a dream. Was
it a dream though? The feel of her in his arms and the love Jason felt for the
woman was as if she’d really been there. That was what got to him the most, the
fact that the love from the dream was still there and it hurt to know that she
wasn’t real. Dreams weren’t supposed to do that to you, the last time he knew.
This is ridiculous, he told himself, still staring at
the sky. It’s more than I’ve ever felt for anyone in my entire life and
she’s not even real!

Elisabeth Webber was working at Kelly’s when Carly Corinthos
came in the front door, her son Micheal at her side and Morgan in her arms. She
didn’t look very happy and everyone in town knew that an unhappy Carly was not
one you wanted to mess with.
“Elisabeth, have you seen Jason today?” she asked in an
irritated tone of voice. The waitress was definitely not one of her favorite
people but she was the only one working and Jason may have come in for breakfast.
He usually did.
“No, Carly, I haven’t seen him.” Liz answered while handing
a customer a slice of Bobbie’s apple pie. Why would she see Jason? It wasn’t as
if they were together anymore, they’d ended two months ago.
“Well, I’d have to say that would be a good thing on one
hand. He wouldn’t have to see you,” the blond said before walking out of the
diner with her sons.

Jason returned to where his motorcycle stood, frustrated.
His head still wasn’t any more clear than when he had woken up earlier that
morning and it confused him. How could a dream make him feel this way about a
girl who didn’t even exist, or even feel this at all? It wasn’t normal, that he
knew. Had he hit his head the day before or something? Or was this a very much
delayed after effect of the accident?
Sighing, he got on his bike and took off back into town. He
reached Kelly’s just as Carly walked out.
“Uncle Jason!” his little redhead nephew yelled, running up
to his favorite person in the world, besides his mommy and daddy.
The mobster’s heart melted as he looked at the little boy,
who obviously adored him. He had since he was a baby and never grown out of it.
“Hey, buddy, how’re you doing?”
“Good. Mommy’s been looking for you.” Micheal responded,
giving his uncle a hug. He looked like he needed one.
“Really? Well, you found me. Let’s go see what she wants.”
Carly watched her best friend’s interaction and marveled
once again at how easily they got along. The bond Jason and Micheal shared had
been forged pretty much since the moment of his birth and only continued
through the years. And, nothing could destroy it, not even when Jason had left
town. They’d just picked up right where they left off.
Little Morgan looked up at his mother with his sweet,
chocolate brown eyes and cooed. He wasn’t that old but he was still in tune
with most of the people around him, especially his mother. He wanted a bit of
attention, Carly knew, so she tickled his cheek and the infant cooed even more,
pleased with the affection.
“Micheal said you were looking for me? What’d you need?”
Jason asked, his favorite little redhead by his side. Carly looked stressed and
rushed, and to be honest, Jason wasn’t in the mood to deal with some
old-fashioned Carly drama. So whatever it was, he hoped it didn’t involve any.
The love from the dream still had a firm hold on his heart and it didn’t seem
as if it would be going away any time soon.
Carly sighed before explaining to Jason why she and her sons
were looking for him. “Leticia had to leave for Mexico early this morning. Her
dad isn’t feeling well so she’s taking a few days off to visit him until he
gets better.”
Jason’s face scrunched up, a puzzled look crossing it. “And
what does this have to do with me?”
“I’ve got a lot of paperwork to do at the club before this
weekend and I was wondering if you could watch the boys for a couple of hours
while I get that done….” She asked.
Jason’s eyes brightened but only a little. He loved both the
boys and liked spending time with them any chance he got. And, maybe it would
dull the feeling in his heart for a dream woman that was just that…a dream.
“I’d love to, but I have to call Sonny and see if he has anything he needs me
to do,” Jason said, taking out his cell phone.
“Yay! Uncle Jason’s going to watch us, Morgan! Won’t that be
fun?”
~*~
That night, Jason walked into his penthouse across the hall
from Sonny and Carly and changed out of his clothes and into a pair of blue
plaid pajama pants. They were a pair that Micheal had gotten him for Christmas
and he thought they were pretty comfortable, even though he usually preferred
to wear just a pair of boxers to bed.
Sonny hadn’t had any work for him to do that afternoon so he
had watched his two nephews. Micheal had wanted to ride his bike but a screw
had somehow come loose and gotten lost, so they couldn’t. Instead, Micheal had
settled on playing video games, and Jason had even joined him, even though he
normally wasn’t one to play them.
But, he would do anything to keep his mind from wandering
back to the dream girl. No, she wasn’t a girl, she was a woman. She was
anything but a girl, that was sure. She was beautiful and just remembering the
smile on her face made tough Jason Morgan fall apart. A perfect woman could
never exist in his imperfect world.
