Title:Secret
Passions ~~ Prologue: Here I go! Courtney Matthews thought as she opened the door to
the small diner called Kelly's.Looking around for her best friend she didn't
see her so she decided to take a seat and order a cup of coffee,it was freezing
outside.Courtney opened up her menu as a waitress walked up to her. "Hello,my name is Penny.How may I help you?"Penny
asked with a smile Courtney smiled at the waitress "Could I please get a cup
of black coffee"Courtney requested "Sure"Penny replied and was about to walk away when
Courtney asked her something. "Excuse me,I was wondering if you could tell me where I
could find Liz Webber,she told me she would be working today"Courtney
questioned "Ofcourse she is right out back,I let her know she has a
visitor"Penny said and headed out back. "Thank you"Courtney called after her. The bell chimed signaling that someone was entering.Courtney
turned slightly to see who had entered the diner and came face to face with a
man with piercing blue eyes,like she had never seen before.Courtney smiled as
the man returned it and continued on his way to the counter once getting out of
his trance. Jason walked over to the counter trying to get the blonde
goddess image out of his head,but he couldn't those eyes burned into him and
that simple smile just made him melt.She was gorgeous like nothing he had ever
seen before. Liz came out from the back and searched the front of the diner
not even noticing Jason at the counter when her eyes fell apon Courtney who was
sitting at a table sipping her coffee,while looking at some papers. "Oh my God,Courtney"Liz squeeled as she pulled
Courtney into a hug. "It's so good to see you"Courtney told Liz when they
broke from thier hug. "I can't believe your really here in Port Charles,New
York.You use to always tell me how you would never be caught dead in a state
like this during the winter,but I guess thats how you Los Angeles girls are
right"Liz teased her. "Yeah,I suppose so"Courtney teased back.She could feel
the man with the beautiful blue eyes looking at her,but she didn't mind in fact
she liked it. "Well come on sit at the counter,we have so much to catch
up on"Liz said as she ushered Courtney to the counter finally noticing
Jason. "Oh Jason,Hey I didn't see you there"Liz told him "Thats okay"Jason said with a smile,but he wasn't
smiling at Liz,but at Courtney. "Well,Jase this is my best friend Courtney"Liz said "Really,I have never seen you around.How did you guys
meet?"Jason questioned "When I was younger I went to boarding school up in Washington
and thats how Courtney and I met"Liz told him. "Courtney,by the way this is my boyfriend Jason"Liz
said The word dug into Courtney like a rusty nail,this man was her
best friends boyfriend.Courtney plastered on a fake smile "It's nice to
meet you" "It's nice to meet you too"Jason said his heart still
breaking from the saddness he saw in her eyes for two seconds when Liz had
called him her boyfriend.They weren't that close,they had dated and that was
it,nothing more,but I guess Liz thought so. "So Court tell me,what brings you to Port Charles?"Liz
questioned "Not that I'm not thrilled" "Well,I was recently in a car accident"Courtney told
them "Oh my god,but your alright"Liz asked "Yeah,I'm fine,but my ex-boyfriend is in a
coma"Courtney said "Well what happened?"Liz asked "Well,Brian and I had just got into a huge fight and I told
him we were over because of his drinking problems and I went to leave his house
when he grabbed me and threw me into the car.We drove around for like and hour
and Brian was very drunk and all of a sudden he slammed the car into a
telephone pole.This happened three months ago and I couldn't remember anything
at all until last week,but all I remember was me and you at boarding school.I
don't know my mom or my uncle.I mean I never knew my dad because he left at a
young age anyway.So,I left L.A. and came to find the one person I remeber and
thought maybe you could help me remeber some things.Anyway though,Brian went
into a coma from the accident and hasn't woken up since and they don't think he
ever will"Courtney told them. "Oh my god,sweetie"Liz gasped Jason stared in shock this woman was exactly like him in
everyway possible,he wouldn't tell her now what happened to him seven years
ago,but maybe someday.As Jason stared in between his so called girlfriend and
the woman who he had basically connected with on every level even though they
had only said a few words to each other,he knew this woman would change his
life forever. ~~ Chapter 1 Jason stared in shock this woman was exactly like him in
everyway possible,he wouldn't tell her now what happened to him seven years
ago,but maybe someday.As Jason stared in between his so called girlfriend and
the woman who he had basically connected with on every level even though they
had only said a few words to each other,he knew this woman would change his
life forever. "Well,I really have to get going"Jason said finally
coming back from his thoughts. "I'll see ya later" And with that he was gone.Courtney thought it was wierd that
Jason hadn't even hugged or kissed Liz goodbye or anything,but decided in time
she would find out the details.Courtney turned to Liz. "Well,he seems nice"Courtney said "Yeah,he is a great guy the only problem is he seems very
distant alot"Liz answered as she walked behind the counter and Courtney
finally took a seat at the counter. "Well,why don't you ask him why he acts so
distant"Courtney suggested "I guess I could,but Jason is very quiet he doesn't like to
open up"Liz told her. "You may have a problem then,if he doesn't like to open
up"Courtney said "I'm just going to keep doing what I always do,wing it,that
is the only thing you can do when it comes to Jason,you can't push him to
far"Liz said Courtney was pulled from her conversation with Liz and into her
thoughts.She couldn't get those sparkling blue eyes and gorgeous smile out of
her head.Jason gave her the impression that he had a deep soul that he wanted
to reveal,but only to someone who he wanted to reveal it.Kind of like
herself.Courtney had secrets,but only one person would ever be told them and
Jason gave her that impression.She could see he was happy in somesense,but she
could also see that deep down there was alot of pain.His eyes were like a window
to his soul and only the right person could see in.Courtney was pulled from her
thoughts when Liz said something again. "Oh,Courtney by the way.I got you a job here and a room
above kelly's two doors down from me.It's number 9" Liz said smiling "Thank you,I really appreciate that"Courtney told her
best friend. "Oh,it's no problem.Bobby,thats the owner said to take the
rest of the weekend off and settle in and then you can start monday.Right now
is the busy shift,so why don't you go upstairs and unpack and we can have
dinner later and catch up some more"Liz suggested "Sounds great"Courtney said ~~ Courtney's Room Courtney opened the door and looked around.She had just went to her
car to get all her things and now here she was in her new home,atleast for
now.It was very quaint and Courtney put her things down and shut the door.She
flopped down on the bed exhausted from the days events.She closed her eyes and
drifted off to sleep with images of Jason the only thing her mind could think
of and the only thing her mind wanted to think of,no matter how wrong it was. ~~ Chapter 2 Courtney awoke a bit confused,but then quickly remembered that
she was in Port Charles.Ever since the accident when she woke up and remembered
nothing,but her childhood friendship with Liz.She always got confused.Standing
up and walking over to her suitcase placed on the desktop,she opend it up and
took the buch of picture laying on the very top.Walking back over to the bed
and taking a seat she noticed the picture on the top of the pile.It was a
picture of her dad and her.Her dad had left her,when she was only one years old
so she wouldn't have remebered him anyway.She desperately wanted to find
him,staring at the picture she wondered if she ever would meet her dad or even
if he cared about his daughter that he had somewhere in this world.Flipping
through the pictures and coming across one of her and Brian.She wondered why
she even kept this photo.She couldn't remember Brian or there so called love
that they supposedly shared together.It didn't matter though,because he had
made her a braindamged freak who had broken all of her families
hearts.Everytime they looked at her it seemed as if they were praying to god
that she would remember something,anything,but she never did.Laying the pciture
next to her she wiped away the few stray tears that had falling on her
cheeks.She then stoodup and looked at herself in the lenghth mirror.Courtney
looked at herself for a few seconds,finally deciding to take a walk she grabbed
her purse and headed out of the door. ~~ Downstairs (Kelly's) As Courtney came down the stairs she looked around and noticed
that Liz was nowhere in sight.Figuring that she had already went home,Courtney
proceeded on her walk around the town of Port Charles. ~~ The Docks Courtney stood on the docks and looked out over the beautiful
water.It was getting cold out and she knew she should be getting back to her
room,but she just loved the water even if it was almost winter. "May I ask what your doing out this late?"A voice
came. Courtney turned her head and smiled at who she saw "I guess
I was just thinking"she answered "Well,I must admit I do that alot"Jason told her with
a smile that made his eyes dance. Courtney couldn't help but laugh,but then quickly turned her
back to him,she couldn't do this.Jason was her best friend's man,she couldn't
flirt with him,but he seemed to be flirting with her. "Are you sure your alright?"Jason asked concerned "Yeah,I'm fine"Courtney said turning back to face him. Jason smiled "So,how do you like our little town
here"he questioned "It seems very nice and peaceful,nothing like Los
Angeles"Courtney said "Oh your right,Los Angeles is alot busier then Port
Charles"Jason said "Have you been to Los Angeles before?"Courtney
questioned "Yes,I have been to pretty much every place you can
imagine"Jason said "So,I take it you enjoy travelling"Courtney said "Yes and No.I mean I travel for business usually,but
sometime's I just like to get away"Jason said "Oh I see"Courtney said with a smile. "It's getting late,I should be getting home"Courtney
suggested "Can I walk you home?"Jason questioned Courtney smiled "I would love that" As she and Jason walked back to Kelly's in silence,Courtney was
silently scolding herself.Here she was letting herself fall for Jason,her best
friends man.What was she going to do,this could ruin everything,she ever had
with Liz.Jason couldn't help,but feel happy walking side by side with
Courtney.They had a conncection that neither could deny.They reached kelly's
and Courtney turned to face Jason. "Well,thank you"Courtney said "It was no problem"Jason told her. "Goodnight"Courtney said and leaned up and placed a
kiss on his cheek.She turned and walked into kelly's.Jason smiled as he watched
her go into kelly's.He knew now that she had to feel something,but Liz was in
the way. ~~ Chapter 3 "Good morning"Liz said as her best friend came down
the stairs. "Hey,good morning"Courtney replied "So how was your first day in Port Charles?"Liz
questioned "Oh,it was great.I honestly love this town
already"Courtney told her. Well,good.Does that mean you might stick around town for
awhile?"Liz asked "Oh,most defintely"Courtney answered as she went to
work. ~~ PH 4 Jason walked into Sonny and Carly's PH and noticed it extremely
quiet for a sunday morning.He looked around.Usually Carly was on the couch reading
a newspaper,Michael was usually playing with some toys on the floor and Sonny
was usually cooking breakfast.Suddenly,Sonny came down the stairs and smiled at
his best friend. "Hey man,whats up?"Sonny said "Where are Michael and Carly?"Jason questioned "Oh,Carly took Michael christmas shopping for me"Sonny
answered "I see"Jason replied "I called you last night and you didn't pick up,where were
you?"Sonny questioned "Oh,just out for a walk to clear my head"Jason
lied,but Sonny didn't notice. "Oh,well anyway looks like were going to have a pretty calm
christmas this year"Sonny told Jason. "If all goes well,family is all that we will have to deal
with"Jason added Sonny nodded "After the last two christmas we have had,I
think Carly,Michael, You and I could enjoy a nice peaceful
christmas,huh?"Sonny questioned with a smirk. Jason nodded "This is definitely going to be a good
christmas"Jason repeated his mind on Courtney. ~~ Kelly's Courtney sat down at the counter and breathed a sigh of
relief,her first day was over.It had been fun,but she was very tired.Liz walked
out from out back and smiled at her friend. "Hard first day?"Liz questioned "Eh"Courtney teased which caused Liz to laugh. "Oh shoot.I have to be to my grandmothers in forty-five
minutes.Do you think you could finish up?"Liz wondered "Sure,no problem.Go ahead,I will see you
tomorrow"Courtney said as Liz hurried out the door. Courtney looked around all the tables were cleaned and now she
just had to lock the door in ten minutes and finish up.The bell rang and
Courtney looked up from her spot and smiled at the person she saw.She smiled at
him as he walked towards the counter. "Are you guys closed yet?"Jason questioned "Yes,but I guess I can serve you.So what would you
like?"Courtney questioned "As a matter of fact a cup of coffee would be
great"Jason said Courtney smiled "Sure thing,how do you like it?" "Black"Jason replied simply. Courtney scrunched her nose up which caused Jason to laugh
"Black?" "Yes,black"Jason replied "Okay"Courtney said as she poured him a cup of black
coffee. Courtney handed him the cup "Here it is" "Thanks"Jason said as he handed her a five "You
can keep the change" "Are you sure?"Courtney questioned "Yes,I'm positive"Jason answered her with a smile as
she put the money in the register. "So,where are you headed now?"Courtney questioned "Just for a walk.Would you like to join to me?"Jason
questioned Courtney smiled "Sure,I would love to actually this diner
is very stuffy" Jason laughed as they headed out the door and down to the
docks.The took a seat on one of the benches.Jason turned to her. "I don't mean to be nosey,but I couldn't help hear your
story that day at Kelly's about your brain damage"Jason questioned Courtney sighed "It's really a long story" "I understand"Jason replied.He really did understand
he didn't like talking about his accident so how could he blame her.It was
hard,not knowing your family or who you even were yourself.It was kind of like
torture.As he looked at her face she was staring off in space and he felt bad
because he could he had hit a nerve and he didn't want to hurt her,but it
seemed like he already did.Both Jason and Courtney were brought out of thier
thoughts by a voice. "Courtney"a man said Courtney turned her head in the direction of the voice as did
Jason.Courtney gasped in horror |
