~Something More~

~Chapter 10~

*Courtney’s apartment*

“So what are you going to wear?!?” Leah cried, as Courtney shut the door and turned around to look at her little sister.

“Why do you care?” Courtney asked her, with an amused look on her face.

Leah looked at her with a shocked look on her face. “I have been trying to get you two together for like ever! And now that it has finally happened, I would just like to have some sort of opinion on what you wear at least!” she said to her, with a pretend look of hurt on her face.

Courtney looked at her sister with a stern look as she began to say something. “Ok missy, first of all we are not together! We are just having dinner ok? And second of all, fine you can help me with my clothes, and I will even let you help me get things ready, so I can focus on getting myself ready, but you may not stick around!” she said to her as Leah’s face fell.

“Please?” she asked, with her special puppy dog eyes that she also got from Sonny.

“No!” Courtney replied, placing her hands on her hips.

“Please? I have to study for midterms, and I can’t do it with Michael running around throwing toys at me and yelling ‘Aunt Leah play Megamon, or Pokemon or whatever it is, with me!!!’ while I am trying to hit the books.” She said to her with a knowing look on her face.

Courtney sighed as she looked at her sister, “well fine, as long as she doesn’t bother us.” She thought to herself as she started to smile.

Leah grinned as she saw her sister smile. “See I knew you couldn’t say no!” she said to her as she ran up to her sister and gave her a hug.

“What is that supposed to mean?” Courtney said rather offended.

“Well, just that you love me to much to turn me down” Leah said with an innocent look on her face, as Courtney chuckled at her. “oh and I need to go back to Sonny’s real quick to get my books, so I will be back as soon as I can!” she cried, jumping up and down as Courtney just laughed at her and watched her run out the door.

“Wow that was easy, I can’t believe she thought I actually go to college!” she thought to herself as she shut the apartment door. “Now all I have to do is get my microphone, earpiece, and some college books.” She told herself, with a skeptical look on her face about the last part of her agenda, hoping that Carly had some sort of college text book lying around the penthouse.

Jason walked through the doorway of his apartment and sets his key’s down on the desk. He walked over to the couch and sat down, putting his face in his hands. “I was so close!” he said to himself as he sighed, thinking about how close he had been to kissing the woman of his dreams.

He got up to walk over to Sonny and Carly’s penthouse, thinking about what he was going to tell Sonny, when he was trying to explain why he couldn’t work tonight… “I’ll just say I’m going to go to a friend’s house.” He said confidently as he hung up his leather jacket in the closet by the door. “Which is the truth” he said sadly, once again remembering that that was all him and Courtney were… Friends.

He walked out into the hallway where he saw Leah, slowly creeping into the Penthouse across from him, as she tried to avoid letting someone see her. Jason walked quietly up behind her and picked her up by the waist as she screamed. “AH!!!” she yelled, as she felt herself leaving the ground. As soon as she felt the floor once more beneath her feet she turned around to find Jason trying to hold back his laughter as he looked at her with a twinkle in his eye.

“Jason you bastard! You scared the crap out of me.” She said, as she hit his arm and sank into the chair and let out a deep breath that she didn’t even know she was holding. Jason suddenly burst out laughing as she scowled at him.

“It’s payback.” He smirked at her while she looked up at him, surprised by his comment.

“Oh why? Because I interrupted you and Courtney?” she asked him, with a grin on her face.

“Yeah so?” he asked her, as Sonny walked down the stairs.

“Hey I heard someone screaming, is everything ok?” he asked, as he looked back and forth between Jason and Leah, who looked sheepishly at him.

“Yeah everything’s ok, where’s Carly?” Leah asked, as she gave Jason an ‘I knew it’ look and walked over to face Sonny.

“She’s upstairs with Morgan, Michael went over to a friend’s house and Courtney is busy tonight so she feels abandoned.” Sonny said, not noticing that Jason smiled when he said Courtney was busy.

“Dramatic isn’t she.” Leah stated, as she smiled and rolled her eyes before heading up the stairs.

After Leah was finally upstairs, Sonny turned to Jason and opened his mouth to speak. “So what’s up?” he asked, wondering if Jason had heard of anything about AJ before he had.

“Nothing really, I just wanted to let you know that I won’t be working tonight, I have plans.” He said simply, remembering who his plans were with and smiled slightly to himself as Sonny almost dropped the glass he had been holding.

“Are you serious?” Sonny asked, finding his composer and looking up at Jason, who nodded at him. “Alright, uh just out of Curiosity and all that, but what are you doing?” Sonny asked him again, wondering what he could be doing instead of working like he usually did.

“I’m just going over to a friends house.” He told him, as he remembered what to tell him, since he knew that he couldn’t tell him who he was seeing tonight, most likely because he probably wouldn’t live to see tomorrow if he did.

“Ok, well have fun I guess. Just don’t forget to come and see me tomorrow, we still have some last minute details to go over about AJ.” Sonny said, as Jason nodded again and left the penthouse.

Carly held her little son in her arms as he played with the stuffed giraffe that he had in his small hands, which he then stuck into his mouth. Carly watched him as he tried to fit the entire animal in his mouth and took it slowly away from him, as she didn’t want him to choke on the buttons. As soon as she took the toy away from him he started to cry and reach for the toy that Carly had just thrown across the room.

“No please baby boy, stop crying please!” she begged the baby that was in her arms as he continued to cry for his toy. “Please stop crying! Mommy doesn’t need you to cry now please.” She said to him, as she started to feel herself become hysterical. As she sat rocking her son she saw Leah walking over to the room where she was in and look down at both Carly and Morgan, who were crying at the same time.

“Hey what happened?” she asked, looking worried as she sat down beside Carly and started playing with Morgan’s feet, who then started to laugh and cry at the same time.

“He was trying to eat his toy… an-… and I took it away from him because I didn’t want him to choke on it… and now he won’t stop cr-… crying!” she wailed, as she handed Morgan over to Leah and stood up to grab some tissues from the night stand while she walked out of the room.

Leah fought back her laughter, as she looked at Morgan, who had almost completely stopped crying, besides for some silent tears that were still falling from his brown eyes. Leah brushed them away with her finger and kissed his nose, causing the little boy to giggle and smile at her, so she knew immediately that he was ok.

“Alright you monster, let’s give your mommy a break and take a nap so you wont be grumpy no more ok?” she said the baby, who just looked up at her and pulled on her hair.

“Oww! No ok Morgan… Oww... Honey let go… ouch! Ok no it’s nap time... give Auntie Leah her hair back please!” she cried, surprising the infant, who dropped the lock of hair he was holding and started at her intensely, causing her to laugh as she rubbed her head.

“You are definitely Sonny’s boy.” She said to him as she kissed him on the forehead and laid him in his crib. She turned from the door and walked into Sonny and Carly’s room to find Carly sitting up on the bed.

“Hey, you ok?” Leah asked her as she approached the bed, leaning over to look at Carly.

“What? Oh yea I’m fine, thank you for helping me with him. He is such a handful sometimes and I have gotten like no sleep lately!” she said as she motioned for Leah to sit down beside her, who did immediately and started to speak.

“No problem, I just wanted to come over and ask you a quick question because I have to be somewhere soon, and I REALLY can’t be late.” She replied, catching Carly’s attention.

“What do you need?” she asked her, looking at her with a confused look on her face.

“I need some sort of college Text Book.” Leah said simply, as if it was a normal thing to ask for from her sister in-law.

“For what?!?” Carly asked, looking over at her.

“ok, well don’t tell Sonny, but Courtney is having Jason over for Dinner tonight, and she said I could stay because I told her I needed somewhere quite to study, and so obviously since I don’t go to College, I could maybe find something here to use as a decoy?” she asked her, with a pleading look on her face.

As Carly was listening to Leah tell her about Jason going to dinner at Courtney’s, and how she was going to spy on her older sister, she couldn’t help but Laugh.

Leah sat staring at Carly, waiting for her laughter to subside so she could get her book before she ran to her room and grabbed her necessary ‘accessories’. Carly just kept playing Leah’s words over in her head as she lay on the bed rolling from laughter.

“Are you finished?” Leah asked her lazily, as Carly sat up.

“Yeah, oh my god that’s hilarious!” she said as she burst into giggles.

“Don’t even start Carly!” Leah said, knowing she wasn’t going to get anywhere if Carly couldn’t control her laughter.

“ok… ok” she said as she wiped tears from her eyes and looked up at Leah who had jumped off the bed and stood in front of her, waiting for an answer. “I think Sonny has an old Trigonometry book from college that you could use” she said to her as she stood up. “He is not really a math freak so he didn’t make it to calculus” she finished as Leah grinned at her.

“Damn I am like Sonny! I suck at math…. Bad” she said, acting embarrassed as Carly just smiled at her and led her to the hall closet.

After Carly stood on a small step ladder for about 5 minutes looking for the book, Leah ran into her room to look for her things. “Oh here it is… oh SHIT!!” Carly cried as a huge box fell off the shelf. After she got everything all set back where it was supposed to be and recovered from almost being crushed by a giant box, she walked downstairs to the guestroom to give Leah the book she had asked for.

Leah found her Garment bag under the mattress that she hid it under, threw it on the bed and started searching it, while throwing things out as she continued to look.

“Damn it, where is it?!?” she said aloud, getting more frustrated by the second. “Oh thank god!” she cried as soon as she found the small microphone and earpiece.

She placed them carefully into her purse, just as Carly walked into the room. “Hey did you find what you were looking for?” she asked, as Leah fixed her sheets that were on the bed, so it didn’t look suspicious to anyone, especially Sonny.

“Yeah I found it, did you get the book?” she asked, as she started walking over towards Carly.

“Oh do you mean this?” Carly asked as she held up the large text book above her head, and then handed it over to Leah who ran over and gave her a hug.

“Thanks Carly! I have to go because I am going to end up being late, so I’ll see you later.” She said as she ran out the door leaving Carly to wonder what was going to happen tonight.

Lucky walked through the doorway that led to the interrogation room, and sat down at the table, putting his head in his hands.

“Making a confession now are we Spencer?” Scott asked, with a smirk on his face as Lucky looked up at him and rolled his eyes.

“Look Baldwin, I am taking my break so do you mind?” he said to him, motioning over to the door.

As soon as he left Lucky looked down at the Ring that he had on his finger, it had been a gift from his girlfriend before he moved about two years ago and he hadn’t taken it off since. “God I miss her.” He said to himself, as he remembered when they had been together and he had finally told her that he loved her.

*Flashback*

“Lucky where are you taking me?” she asked, giggling as he led her over to a small dock, that overlooked the lake and had a perfect view of the sunset.

Lucky just smiled at the young women in his arms as he led her blindfolded over to the edge of the dock and sat her down carefully before removing the cloth from her eyes.

“Surprise.” He whispered to her as she gaped at the view before her.

“Oh my god, it’s so beautiful.” She said to him as she stared at the sky. Turning to look at him she stared into his soft blue eyes as he gazed at her. She leaned into him and kissed him passionately as he wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her closer to him.

“I love you” he said to her as they pulled apart.

She sat looking at him in shock, as his words sank in and she felt tears in her eyes. “I Love you too” she said to him, as she kissed him gently on the lips and rested her head on his shoulder as they watched the sun set.

*End Flashback*

Lucky decided that he would go down to the docks after he got off work; it was probably the only place where he could think about her in peace.

*Courtney’s Apartment*

Courtney was rushing around making Dinner and setting up the table when Leah walked in with a large bag. “Hey what’s that?” she asked as she pointed over to the bag.

“Well what’s that?” Leah replied, pointing to the egg shell that was sticking out of Courtney’s hair.

“Alright fine, I need to get in the shower, so will you kind of finish up the table a bit?” she asked as she pulled the egg out of her hair.

Leah nodded as Courtney turned and retreated to the bathroom. Making sure her sister was out of sight, she crept over to the bedroom, and saw an outfit hanging up in her closet. “She’s wearing that?” she asked herself in disbelief. “Oh well its good enough!” she answered, as she walked over to it and opened her bag. She pulled out the mini microphone and placed it inside the pocket of Courtney’s jeans, and fastened it to the side. “This should work” she said confidently to herself as she tested the microphone and ear piece to see if they worked, which turned out successful.

She heard the bathroom door open so she grabbed her bag and ran out of the room, bumping into Courtney, who was looking at her suspiciously. “What are you doing?” Courtney asked, as she walked into her room slowly.

“Just checking to see what you were going to wear.” She answered simply, as she started walking out of the room. “Good job!” she added patting Courtney on the shoulder as she motioned to the outfit that was hanging up in the closet as she turned and walked out of the room with Courtney standing and shaking her head.

“God she’s weird” she said to herself as she chuckled lightly and shut her door as she started getting ready.

A half hour, Courtney was rushing around the apartment, as Leah was watching her from her seat on the couch with her ‘book’ in hand as Courtney started talking to herself. “Ok everything’s going well; just have to finish up dinner and then some loose ends on the table.” She said, as Leah looked at her with an amused _expression on her face.

“I’ll do the table, you finish your make up” she said as she jumped off the couch and walked over to the table.

“I already did my makeup” Courtney replied, looking confused.

“Oh no you didn’t, get back in there” Leah said to her as she pointed to the bedroom and started to giggle as Courtney stomped off to her room.

At 6:30, Courtney rushed out of her room, Hair and makeup done, and clothes on as Leah looked up at her as she put the finished touches on the table’s décor. “Awww you look so pretty!” she cried as she rushed over to Courtney who started to laugh.

“Thanks” she said, as she continued to laugh, but stopped as soon as she saw the table. “Oh my god it’s beautiful!” she cried as Leah grinned at her.

“Well I was hoping you would like It.” she said as Courtney walked over to the table to look at the décor better.

It was so elegant that Courtney was afraid to touch it. It had Gold ribbon scattered on top and a Black silk cloth that covered the entire table underneath it. The plates were simple white, with gold markings on them and the Silverware was also gold. In the middle of the table, were two long black candles that had gold sparkles in them and rested in gold brass holders.

Courtney just stared at it for a moment, as Leah looked at her as she resumed her spot on the couch. “Dinner is cooking well to, I checked on that for you.” She said to her as Courtney jerked around.

She opened her mouth to say something when all of a sudden there was a knock on the door. “That’s him!” Courtney whispered, looking at Leah in horror.

Leah burst into giggles as she looked at her sister. “It’s ok, answer the door!” she said, as she picked up her book, giving Courtney a reassuring look and ran into the back room.

Courtney watched her sister leave and walked over to the door. She slowly opened it to find Jason standing in front of her wearing his leather Jacket and a smile on his face as she grinned at him.

“Hi” she said as she opened the door wider to let him in.

“Hi” he replied as he walked in and looked around.

Leah settled herself on the bed and turned on her earpiece as she heard Jason talking.

“Smells good.” He said as he smelt the aroma coming from the kitchen.

Courtney smiled at him and started saying something. “It's enticing.” She said simply as he turned around to face her.

“What?” he asked, as looked at her.

“Enticing -- it's a new perfume.” She answered, as she shifted her footing.

“Oh, I meant dinner. But that smells nice, too.” He said as Leah burst out laughing.

Poor Court!” she said quietly to herself, still laughing she turned the volume up before anything else happened.

Courtney was now blushing profusely as she silently scolded herself. “Thanks. Dinner's not quite finished yet, but I made an appetizer. Vegetable pate.” She said, finally finding her voice as she started walking over to the kitchen.

“So, is cooking a hobby for you?” he asked her, as she spun around to face him again.

“Yeah. Well, I've -- I've been cooking dinner since i was a kid. My mom -- she used to work late, and she'd come home exhausted. So I’d always whip up something easy, like macaroni and cheese or a microwave dinner. But on special occasions, I would take out the cookbook and -- and I’d make something nice, which is what I did tonight.” She explained to him, as he listened intently and Leah was brushing away tears from her eyes.

“Well it looks like I wasn’t the only one who had a crappy childhood.” She said as she began looking for the tissues, and gave up shortly as she heard Jason speak and jumped back onto the bed.

“You need some help?” he asked, as she turned to walk into the kitchen.

She turned around once more to face him, now in the doorway to the kitchen. “No, I can handle it. But if you want to light the candles -- you know, you've -- you've done so much for me. Tonight is about me doing something for you.” She told him , as he nodded at her and she went to get her appetizer from the kitchen.

“That’s so sweet!” Leah said to herself, as she poked her head around the corner and watched Jason Light the candles.

“Here.” Courtney said as she walked back into the room and picked up the wine glasses, as she followed Jason over to the couch.

“Here, I'll take that for you.” Jason offered as he  reached to grab the plate from Courtney, who slipped and dropped it on the ground.

“-oh! Oh, no! Watch out, watch out. What a mess. Oh, my god.” She said, as she looked at the mess.

Leah looked around the corner again just in time to see her sister spill food everywhere, which caused her to snort in laughter and collapse on the floor. “Oh…. My… God!” she said softly as she crawled over to see Jason trying to calm Courtney down.

“No, no, it's –“  he started to say, when she interrupted him.

“Oh.” She moaned, looking down at the appetizer she had made, and rubbed her hands over her face.

“It's ok. It's -- it's all right.” He said, trying to reassure her.

“I’m sorry.” She apologized, looking up at him and blushing.

“For what?” he asked her, as he looked at her with a puzzled _expression.

-Leah was listening intently at her spot on the floor, since she didn’t want to get up incase she missed anything good and smiled at the two of them talking. “ I have a feeling that they are going to be on their honeymoon around this time next year!” she thought to herself as she had a confident look on her face.-

“Oh -- for our dinner getting off to a rocky start” she said, looking at him and giggling.

He chuckled at she smiled at him and decided to say something. “It's going to be ok. It's going to be just fine.” He said, as she took a deep breath.

“Well, do you like chicken pot pie? It's my grandmother's recipe.” She said to him, as she mustered up a smile and looked into his eyes, still feeling embarrassed about what had happened.

Jason looked at her and smiled, nodding his head as he spoke. “Yeah.” He answered as they continued to gaze into each others eyes until the bell rang on the oven.

“Note to self, destroy bell on oven for interruption!” Leah said to herself, as she watched Jason trying to get himself together before Courtney came back.

*PH 4*

Carly lay on her bed, as she thought about Jason’s date with Courtney. “I can’t believe they are together right now!” she thought to herself as she stared up at the ceiling. “Well it’s not like they’re alone.” She said as she laughed softly, thinking about her youngest sister in-law.

Sonny walked into the room unnoticed as he saw his wife lying on their bed, smiling up at the roof. So he quietly walked over to the bed, laid down next to her and stared up at the ceiling. “So what are we looking at?” he asked her as she fell off the bed from shock.

“Oh my god Sonny! You scared me to death.” She cried, as she picked herself off the floor and looked at him with her hands on her hips.

Sonny chuckled lightly at her, as he crawled across the bed and picked her up by the waist, setting her down so she was in his arms. “Are you scared now?” he asked her as she looked up at him.

“Depends on what you’re going to do to me” she said, winking at him mischievously and pulling him on top of her as he leaned in and kissed her passionately.

*Courtney’s Apartment*

Courtney and Jason sat at the little table talking about pretty much everything, from Courtney’s childhood to Jason’s old Motorcycle shop, when all of a sudden Courtney remembered something.

“Oh. Oh, my god.” She said as looked over at him.

“What?” Jason asked, Concern visible in his voice.

“I can't believe it. I forgot the garlic bread.” She said as she smacked her hand to her forehead.

“Garlic Bread?” Leah mouthed to herself, shaking her head as she thought about it. “That’s my sister.” She said as she peeked around the corner again.

“No, no, its ok –“ he said, not wanting her to leave but she interrupted him before he could say anything else.

“No, no, it's in the oven. Don't move.” She said as she quickly ran to the kitchen, as Jason poured more wine into their glasses.

“He is trying to get my sister drunk!” Leah thought to herself as she watched him. “Dork” she said, trying to hide her laughter as Courtney walked back into the room.

As Courtney set the garlic bread down on the table, she didn’t realize that she had set it down on top of Jason’s wine glass, which then spilt onto his shirt as both of them jumped and Courtney reached for the towel that was on the chair and started wiping frantically at Jason’s shirt.

“Oh –“ Jason said, as he jumped out of his chair as Courtney looked at the wine glass in horror.

“Oh dear god!” she thought to herself as she grabbed the towel that was nearby. “Oh, my -- oh, Jason -- I'm so sorry. I'm -- I’m sorry” she said as she walked towards him and started rubbing the stain on his shirt.

-Leah looked back and forth between Jason and Courtney in shock, with her mouth hanging open, hardly believing her sisters luck. She started to giggle as she listened to her sister babble. -

“No, no, it's ok” Jason said, feeling his face get redder as he felt how close she was to him.

“I'm such a klutz tonight. I'm not usually like this when I’m cooking.” She said absentmindedly as she continued to wipe his shirt.

“No, no, it’s fine.” He said, trying to get her to relax a bit, as he looked at her.

“I don't know what's wrong with me.” She said, as she looked up into his eyes and got lost in him as he stared at her.

He leaned into her as their lips met in a sweet, soft kiss that turned passionate within minutes. They stood close to each other as their hands roamed over each other’s bodies.

-Leah watched them with her eyes practically bugging out of her head, as she watched her sister make out with Jason. “Oh man, I don’t need to see this.” She said as she closed her eyes and took a deep breath before looking up.-

“Oh my god it’s been 45 minutes already!” she said, looking at her watch as she continued to watch them and rested her face in her hands. As soon as she lifted her head she saw Courtney holding Jason’s hand and leading him into her bedroom.

She stared at the closed door in complete shock, before it actually hit her about what was going on. She jumped up and silently cheered. “Touchdown!!” she cried softly as she did her own little end zone dance before realizing that it was time for her to go. She picked up her book and ear piece, reminding herself that she can get her microphone later. “Now may not be a good time” she said, trying to hide her laughter as she walked out of the room and ran straight into Jason, who was looking for the Bathroom, for certain reasons.

Jason stared at her, surprised written all over his face, as she nervously grinned at him and shot Courtney a dirty look, who was giggling in the doorway to her room. “Hey Jase how’s it goin’?” she asked him, shifting her footing.

“Um good, do you know where the bathroom is?” he asked her, looking down at the floor, embarrassed that he had to ask Courtney’s little sister this.

“Bathroom?” she asked him, puzzled. The all of a sudden it hit her. “Oh! Oh.. Um yea.. Bathroom.. Hm… I think its right there… no over there… no its right there.” She said babbling, as she finally pointed him in the right direction.

She looked over at Courtney, who was shaking with laughter and shook her head. “You just loved that didn’t you!” she said, as Jason walked back into the room.  She just grinned at him and watched as he walked into the room and kicked the door shut.

“Ok I need paper!” she told herself quietly as she ran over to the counter by the phone and started writing her sister a note.

Courtney,

I went to go get some fresh air before I head home, don’t worry about me! I’ll be fine, hope you have fun! *wink wink*

Luv,

Leah

Ps: Hi Jase!

She smiled as she put the pen down and rushed out the door as she headed downstairs she decided to head to the docks to clear her head.

Lucky rushed around trying to find his jacket, because he wanted to leave as soon as possible, before something happened and he had to rush back again.

“Hey have you seen my Jacket anywhere?” he asked the guard, who just shook his head and Lucky sighed, about to give up when he saw it in the lost and found box.

“Figures” he said, as he grabbed his keys and headed out the door.

*The Docks*

Leah walked over to the edge of the docks and stared out at the water, remembering when it used to be so easy and when she could just be with him. “You really need to stop this’ she told herself, as she walked over to a bench. “He is gone, and is part of your past now.” She said as she sighed, silently wishing that it wasn’t true.

Lucky walked down the stairs, stopping suddenly as he saw her sitting their, more beautiful then he ever had imagined. Leah stood from her chair and turned around , hearing the sound of footsteps and wondering who it could be. She looked up and came face to face with the man who she dreamt about every night, the one she had been so close to having a future and a family with, and the man who she ever and was ever going to love.

“Lucky?!” she said in disbelief as she just stared at him.
