~Chapter 49~
*PH 3*
"Hello?" she said happily, her face turning pale as
she heard the voice of her adopted father. The man who had played the role her
real father should have played so many years ago.
_____________________________________________________________________________
"Leah, darlin is that you?" Mitch Hansen asked on
the other line as Leah sucked in a sharp intake of breath and pursed her lips
together.
"Da-... Mitch? Why are you calling me?" She asked bluntly,
catching herself before she let her tongue slip.
"Now is that any way to greet your dear ol'
dad?" The older man asked, causing Leah's face to twist into a
disgusted _expression.
"Your not my father Mitch, you just lied and told me for 17
years that you were... I'm with my real family now." she stated firmly as
Lucky watched her with confusion written all over his face.
"About that baby, I'm real sorry.. But I had to call
you, there's something you need to know." he said, sighing
unsurely, not really knowing how to continue.
"What? That your a German Nazi? You used to fight against
Dinosaurs? You fly fighter jets in your spare time?" she asked
sarcastically, leaning up against the desk chair.
"Leah, Marie passed away last night" Mitch said, closing
his eyes sadly as Leah's world began to crumble and spin all at the same time.
That wasn't the answer she was looking for.
Everything seemed to stand still; Her mind was racing, she felt
herself clinging to the phone and the desk as she fought to catch her breath.
Yeah, parent's die sooner or later, but not her mom. She had already lost one,
how could her other one, the one who had taught her to walk, read and put on
make up, leave her as well? No... It wasn't possible... there was no way.. It
had to be a mistake.
"What?" She whispered into the phone, tears of
confusion and sheer stubborness sprung into her chocolate eyes.
"She's gone sweetie, took her last breath around
10:17. She was getting real weak towards the end, it was inevitable..." He said as Leah shook
her head violently, there was no way she would accept it. Lucky saw the inner
struggle she was going through and tried to put his arms around her in comfort,
only to have her push him away. "They're going to fly her out to New
york tomorrow for the funeral, She wanted to be near you when she died, so this
will be just as-..."
Leah felt a sob escape from her lips as she finally broke down
and allowed Lucky to comfort her. How could something like this happen just
after she had finally accepted her real mother's death? It was unfair and wrong
in her mind, but no one was looking for fair at this point.
Lucky took the phone and hung it back on it's cradle, not caring
who his wife had been talking too, only that she was upset and he needed to be
with her and help her with whatever was going on.
"Baby, hey... talk to me, what's wrong?" he asked,
kissing the top of her head as he tried to get her to look at him.
"My mom... She's gone!" She cried out, sobbing into
his lap as Lucky frowned. Hadn't Jason told him that Leah accepted Adella's
death?
"Leigh, it's ok... I know that Adella's gone, but haven't
we moved o-.." He started as she began crying harder and interrupted him.
"Damn it Lucky! My adopted mother died!" She screamed
as Lucky's eyes bulged. He wasn't really expecting that as her answer.
"The mother who raised me and took care of me because she couldn't have
any childeren of her own! The mother who took care of me when I lost our baby
and couldn't accept the fact that you left... She was the strongest person that
I have ever known, and now she's left me too!" She yelled, wiping at her
flowing tears, sniffling as Lucky listened intently. "Why was I never
meant to have a mother, Lucky?! Why?!?" She screamed again as Lucky embraced
her tightly, holding her body close against him as she sobbed harder than ever
before, not caring who heard her.
"You were meant to have a mother Leah... What you don't
realize is that you were lucky enough to have two who cared about you so much
that they gave everything for you..." Lucky said softly into her hair as
her crying softened a bit, her small body shaking with violent tears.
"We'll get through this, I'll always be here to help you..." he said,
rocking them back and forth, hoping to bring her some comfort while feeling
helpless from all of the emotions that she was expressing lately.
"I just-... I just wish that I could have said
goodbye..." she said gently, lifting herself up as she rubbed her hands
over her face, looking at her husband, the man who gave her the strength and
will to live through each day.
"I know, Everything will work out, just remember
that." he said, taking her hand and bringing it up to his lips as he
kissed the inside of her palm softly. Leah shuddered slightly as she blushed.
"I don't deserve you.. I'm surprised you haven't killed me
yet, I'm a complete basket case" she said, laughing slightly at her own
joke as Lucky smiled.
"I just keep telling myself it's the hormones and I'll have
you back to normal in 7 months" He said as she gave him a look before
allowing a smile to curve her lips.
"Is there going to be a funeral?" Lucky asked,
changing the subject as Leah sighed.
"Yeah, I guess there bringing her down tomorrow. I don't
know when the service is though, you kind of hung up on my adopted
father." she pointed out as he gave her a guilty look.
"He'll call back" He said, shrugging as Leah shook her
head in amusement, wrapping herself in his arms as she leaned her head against
his.
"Hopefully" she thought as she closed her eyes and sat
in the middle of the penthouse, sitting inbetween Lucky's legs with her arms
wrapped around his strong body while he held her small frame.
"I love you" Lucky whispered soothingly, easing Leah
to sleep as she closed her eyes and took a deep breath, feeling herself
drifting off before she could respond.
*PH 4*
Sonny walked downstairs formally, wearing his usual dress shirt
and slacks, his hair gelled back away from his face in the common business
manner. He skipped down the stairs two at a time, humming a famous Italian tune
as he made his way over to the bar, pouring himself a shot just when the front
door creaked open and Marco's face peeked into the room.
"Hey boss, Samuel is here to see you, Carly and the boys
just went over to Bobbie's." He told him as Sonny drank down his drink and
motioned for Marco to let Samuel in.
He set his glass back down on the bar and started to walk over
to the couch when Samuel came into view, a slightly apprehensive look molded
onto face. "He-... Hey Sonny" He said in a squeeky tone of voice,
sounding a bit like a young teen boy who had yet gone through puberty.
"Sit" Sonny said simply, pointing to the couch as he
shifted views and took a seat in his leather lounge chair. Samuel nodded
hurriedly and practically tripped himself trying to get himself seated.
"Dude, calm down" Sonny said, raising his eyebrow at his cousin, who
again, nodded quickly with his eyes bulging out of his head.
Sonny shook his head, leaned forward and pulled out one of his
extra guns from the waistband of his pants, causing Samuel to jump up and hold
his hands in the air in surrender.
"Okay, I'll calm down!" He cried, fear spreading
across his face as he glanced at the weapon. Sonny nearly broke down in
laughter but kept strong and just glared at the middle aged man.
"Hey Phsyco, shut up or I'll shoot you" He warned in a
playful yet stern tone of voice, while Samuel whimpered and shut his mouth
rapidly.
"Now the reason why I brought you here..." Sonny
started, waving his arms for Samuel to sit back down as he continued to talk.
"I've noticed how watchful you are, and how cautious you can be. I'm not
exactly sure how great you are at shooting one of these things..." he
said, waving the fire arm in his hand as Samuel watched him with a suspicous
look on his face. "... But I think that you would be a... oh what's the
word... asset-..." He said, snapping his fingers sarcastically as he
thought to himself. "... an asset to my organization... So what do you
think, are you in?" he asked, staring him down as Samuel sat in slight
shock. A mob boss just offered him a job, he would be, even more than he
already was, part of a crime family. "How does someone respond to
that?" He asked himself, his mouth shut, unable to think of any words to
speak.
"Yep, I scared him alright." Sonny said silently to
himself, nodding slightly as he ran one hand through his hair, the other one
twirling the gun through his fingers. Not something he would do if the boys
were home, but it was safe to do it with just the two of them there.
"Okay... So would you like to know about some of the things
you would be doing for me?" Sonny asked, breaking the unending silence as
Samuel nodded carefully in response. "Well, you'll probably be working
with Jason at first, getting the hang of things, then you'll find leads on
different enemies of mine if things come up, and you might have to be called in
for re-enforcement if need be." He said, catching his breath as Samuel
took everything in quitely.
"Would I be risking my life?" Samuel asked out of no
where, catching Sonny of guard as he looked up at his friend in surprise,
gulping back his uneased feeling.
"Look Samuel, I'm not going to lie to you-..." Sonny
started just as Samuel interrupted him.
"Then don't, just answer the question... Will I be risking
my life?" He asked seriously, looking at the man in front of him with
agressed determination as Sonny felt even more respect for him.
"It really depends on the situation, if your just finding
things out for me then there will be less of a danger rate, but at other times,
yes you may be putting your life at risk." He said honestly as Samuel
nodded, gratefuly for the truth despite how depressing it sounded. "If you
need more time to think about it... You know, talk with Leanna about it and
everything, I'll understand... I just think that you could really help the
Corinthos-Morgan business out. Your the best man for the job." he told him
as Samuel shook his head, causing Sonny to bite his lip in worry.
"I don't need any time, I can give you my answer
now..." He said, building up the tension as Sonny's eyes widened.
*PH 2*
Courtney felt her eyes wavering sleepily as they scanned the
back inside flap of her pregnancy/childbirth book. She shook herself every few
seconds, trying to fight the overbearing curse of sleep.
"... through out the glorious time of your pregnancy,
consult this wonderful step by step guide on what is and what will be happening
with your baby and body..."
That was it, after those few words, she was out like a light;
Jason must have really worn her out for her to be that tired. The book slipped
out of her hands and rested gently ontop of her stomach, her hands folding
neatly over it as she drifted into a perfect sleep, dreams of her baby coming
into view.
*Courtney's dream*
Courtney sat upright in her hospital bed, her blonde hair
flowing over her shoulders as she smoothed out her paper gown impatiently.
Where was Jason? Just as she was becoming restless she saw Jason walking
through the door to her room, carrying their beautiful angel wrapped up in a
pink blanket, her blue eyes sparkling up at her daddy who watched her lovingly,
memorizing all of her tiny features.
Courtney giggled at the sight and bit her lip. "Are you
ever going to stop looking at her?" She asked him, smiling at the look
of awe that appeared on his face as he watched their baby girl.
"I didn't know I could be this happy." He said to her,
looking up into her eyes while moving over to the bed as their tiny daughter
cooed sweetly.
"I did." Courtney said just as the angel in Jason's
arms caught her mother's glance and smiled brightly, causing Courtney's face to
break into a grin.
"I thought the best day of my life was when you told
me you were pregnant, but this is so much better. Yeah. This is our little
girl. She's the most important thing that'll ever happen to us." He said, leaning down
and placing a kiss on Courtney's lips as they baby wiggled her fingers and toes
playfully.
*End
of dream*
Unawarely, Courtney placed her hands on her stomach and smiled
softly. Off in a heavenly slumber she stayed, thinking about her baby, from her
light blonde hair, to her sharp blue eyes, she was perfect. Letting the
pregnancy book fall off of the couch to the floor, Courtney shifted to her side
and buried her head into a throw pillow, sighing as the dreams continued. Every
night she seemed to have the same wonderful dreams, meeting the child that her
and Jason had created. Something that she never thought she would be lucky
enough to have.
Yeah, there were the apprehensions. Her sister had already lost
a baby before her current pregnancy, as did her sister in-law, but she was
determined to keep the little girl that she was carrying safe, no matter what
it took. She believed that god had given her and Jason this baby for a reason,
especially with the unexpected timing. Unknowingly, it all fell into place. She
would be marrying the love of her life and in a few months, she would be giving
birth to their precious daughter.
Not to mention the fact that she was getting not one, but three
neices, and even a little great cousin as well. Calling it luck might be a
little out of hand, especially in the case of the men's awkward positions, but
the four pregnancies were all definitly blessings in one way or another. Leah
and Lucky had found their way back to each other and created not one, but two
lives, sealing their bond together as they became husband and wife. Just the
memory of it all had made Courtney swoon on the spot. Carly and Sonny, that was
expected anyway. Everyone would have been surprised if a little baby hadn't
become a result of their fooling around, but the sweet baby girl was diffinetly
a joyful surprise at best. Leanna and Samuel had been a rocky experiance for
everyone, from the shocking pregnancy reveal, to the marriage confession from
Samuel on top of that. The announcement of the only expected baby boy was an
incredible happy ending for those two, as well as a beginning.
For Jason and Courtney, their relastionship had been perfect
even before she was pregnant. Sure, their was the small space in time when
Sonny refused to accept them, but having Leah wip him into shape allowed the
two to really let their love grow. Now they were getting married, it was taking
some time, but they would get their. With Leah controlling most of the
planning, they would get their.
*PH 4*
"... I'll take it" Samuel said as Sonny let out a
breath of relief.
"Thank god" he thought, standing up with his friend
following suit. "Are you sure man?" Sonny asked, his facial
expressions unsure.
"Yeah, I'm sure. How could I refuse?" Samuel said,
confirming the position as he held his hand out and allowed Sonny to pull him
into a brotherly imbrace.
"Alright, we'll work on all the details later, but first, a
drink is in order." Sonny said, pulling away and clapping his hands
together as Samuel chuckled. A drink was always in order with Sonny.
"Brandy, Whisky... Shnopps?" he asked, shifting through the bottles
on top of the bar as Samuel furrowed his eye brows at the selection. The man
had some strong stuff.
"Can I just get a beer instead?" he asked as Sonny
smiled and nodded.
"Yeah, they're in the kitchen." He told him, pouring
himself a glass and drinking it down quickly before pouring the rest of the
bottle. He took his glass and sat back down in his chair, stretching his limbs
while Samuel walked out of the kitchen, nursing a beer while making his way
over to the couch.
"So how are you going to tell Leanna?" Sonny said,
nearly causing Samuel to choke and spit his drink halfway across the room. He
hadn't exactly gotten that far with the plan.
"Not sure yet.." he said, trying to shrug it off as
Sonny closed his eyes and shook his head. Their was no way that it could end
good if he continued to think nothing bad would happen just by saying "Hi
honey, How was your day? Good? Mine too! By the way, I'm joining the Mob!"
"Man.... Nooo" Sonny said deeply, drama oozing from
his words as Samuel watched cluelessly. "I know my cousin, and if you try
to break the news to her over a romantic dinner or an expensive shopping spree,
she's going to know something is up and she will kill you. Just tell her
upright, you'll have a better chance" He said, nodding his head
sympathetically as Samuel looked at him with a scared _expression on his face.
"Yeah, she's from your family Sonny, so either way we both
know that I'm screwed" he said honestly as Sonny laughed, shrugging his
shoulders agreeingly as Samuel tilted his head and took a swig of his drink.

Samuel walked down the hall towards his penthouse with
increasing apprehension. "How am I going to tell her..." He thought
to himself, hanging his head as he took a deep breath in, exhaling with a large
amount of pressure as he reached the door way and placed his hand on the knob.
"Hi Honey, welcome home" Leanna said suddenly, pulling
the door open as Samuel's eyes widened... This was it, the moment of truth.
"Hey baby, how was your evening?" he asked, walking
forward and giving her a soft kiss on the lips as he made his way into the
penthouse. Leanna narrowed her eyes at his back as he rubbed his hands over his
face, calming himself down the best way he knew how.
"Fine, and your's?" she said, slamming the door shut
as she followed her husband into the penthouse, fidgeting with her shirt as
Samuel cleared his throat nervously.
"Go-... Good, it was good.." he said, stumbling on his
words as Leanna shook her head, pursing her lips together while Samuel
scratched his head.
"Did you talk to Sonny?" Leanna asked, nodding her
head, trying to get Samuel to admit more. She knew that something was up with
him, but if he was unwilling to tell her right away, it would obviously take
awhile to know what it was.
"Yeah" Samuel said simply, causing his wife to become
overwhelmingly impatient.
"What about?" She asked, biting her lip to control her
anger, unsuccefully keeping herself stress free.
"Stuff" he said as Leanna finally gave up with playing
the calm and sweet wife.
"Samuel, just tell me what's going on!" she cried,
stomping her foot as Samuel jumped in surprise.
"How do you know something's going on?" he asked
shakily, wringing his hands as she placed her's on her hips.
"Because your acting like an idiot! How could something not
be going on?!" she yelled, giving him an obviouse look as he closed his
eyes and sighed.
"Alright, your right... We did talk about something...
important" he admitted slowly, choosing his words carefully as Leanna
crossed her arms across her chest.
"How important?" she asked, becoming slightly worried.
"Life changing.." Samuel told her, his voice only just
above a whisper as Leanna blinked away the tears of fear that appeared in her
eyes.
"What is it?" She asked him again, taking a deep
breath as Samuel somehow managed to tell her the truth.
"I'm going to work for Sonny"
A deadly silence settled in after those words were said. Leanna
drew in a sharp intake of breath and stood, looking at her husband in shock.
Samuel was speechless. He didn't think it would be that hard to tell her, but
it was almost unbearable.
Out of nowhere, Leanna brought her hand up and slapped Samuel
across the face with as much anger and fear as she had inside of her.
*PH 4*
Courtney and Carly sat up in the baby's nursery, buried
underneath piles of fabric and bows among many Disney toys.
"Carly... Do you really think this is all necessary?"
Courtney asked, tossing a bright pink bow that had landed on top of her head
out of the way.
"Look, your fiancee finished your baby's nursery already
ok? So don't start. I have to finish where Sonny left off and yeah, this is all
necessary." Carly said, weaving around the actual question as she flipped
through a design book while Courtney rolled her eyes and grabbed a Minnie mouse
baby blanket, folding it neatly into a pile.
"Alright Carly, you only had to say yes but whatever"
she answered softly, brushing her fingers through her light blonde hair as
Carly threw her book across the room and stood up quickly.
"Ok, so first of all, why don't you start putting together
the changing table, while I get the dresser all decorated.." She said as
Courtney stood up reluctantly and began opening the assigned box. "Let's
just be thankful that Sonny already put together the crib"
"Nope, I did that too" Courtney whispered to herself,
shaking her head as she picked up a hammer that had been sitting on the floor.
"What was that?" Carly asked as Courtney put a
cheerful smile on her face.
"Nothing Carly" She said innocently as Carly nodded
and went back to the dresser.
"You know what Sonny did" Carly said mysteriously as
Courtney gritted her teeth and put a perplexed look on her face.
"What did he do Carly?" she asked in mock wonder, her
face looking a bit ditzy as Carly ignored the sarcasm.
"He gave Samuel a job in the organization" she said as
Courtney's _expression turned to surprise. That was something she wouldn't have
guessed in a million years, only because she knew how protective Sonny was over
Leanna.
"Did Samuel actually take it?" she asked as Carly
nodded, a look that clearly said 'yeah go figure' painted on her face.
"Does Leanna know?" She asked as Carly's face turned from calm to
scared out of her mind.
"Well she probably does now, unless Samuel took a detour on
one of the elevators going home" She joked as Courtney cracked a smile,
despite the discussion topic.
"Do you think she's killed him yet?" Courtney asked, unknowingly
biting her nails.
"It's too soon to tell, I haven't even heard a scream
coming from downstairs yet" she said, staring down at the floor as Court
did the same.
"So where's Jase?" Carly asked, changing the subject
quickly as Courtney raised an eyebrow.
"He's out getting a tux with Leigh Leigh... She's going to
get her's, Em's and Lans' Dresses once they get to the 'special store'."
She told her, using quotation marks as Carly furrowed her brows.
"She's not picking out my dress is she?" She asked
sternly as Courtney sighed and shook her head.
"No Carly." she said simply as Carly gave her a
dignified look. "God forbid..." Courtney thought to her herself as
Carly continued to place little trinkets on the dresser.
"So you just let her pick out everyone else's dress?"
Carly asked again, turning around with a confused look on her face as Courtney
gave her a look.
"Yeah, I trust my sister like that" she snapped as
Carly shut her mouth, finally getting the hint as both women went back to work.
*Davids Bridal*
"How can you guys stand to be in here? It's so..."
Jason started saying as he and Leah walked among racks of dresses.
"Bright... Cheerful... Refreshing?" She offered with
an over enthusiastic grin on her face as Jason gave her a weird look.
"Something like that..." he said as she laughed at
him.
"Come on Jase, you know your having fun.. I'm better
behaved than all of the other women aren't I?" Leah asked as a smile
tugged at Jason's lips. "Yeah, see you love me." she stated, causing
Jason to burst out laughing. After the phone call from her previous father,
Lucky had comforted Leah, rocking her back and forth soothingly as she rested.
Something that she hadn't gotten to do since before her birthday. Hearing of
her mother's death was taking a toll on her concience, increasing her fear of
how good of a mother she could be to her girls, but with the help of her
family, she would be ok.
"Oooh, what about this one?" she asked, grabbing a
bright pink dress from the racks and holding it up against her body as Jason
nodded.
"Sure, sounds good" he said as Leah also nodded. He
wasn't paying attention.
"You suck" she said simply, throwing the dress at him
as she walked past him and went down a different row. "You could at least
give me your opinion Jason, this is your wedding too you know." She said
loudly as he sighed and placed the dress carefully back on the clothing rack.
She did have a point, but if women only knew the tortue that men go through
when searching for a dress, they wouldn't complain half as much as they do when
their husbands and boyfriends suggest going to wrestling matches.
"Look, I'm sorry.. It's just really hard for me to do
this.. I like motorcycles, not bows" He said honestly, catching up to her
as she turned around and looked at him as if he were crazy.
"And I do?! Come on, you saw the look on my face when
Courtney walked out in that one dress... I wanted to kill myself" She said
throwing her hands up in the air as Jason chuckled.
"Ok, I get the point.. what do you want me to do?" He
asked, not knowing what kind of hell she would soon be putting him through.
Once he said those little words, Leah ordered him to hold out
his arms and began piling dress after dress on top of him, ranging from A line
and Princess cut to Taffeta and Silk.
Now Jason was sitting in the waiting area, just outside of the
dressing rooms, feeling a sense of Deja vu overcome him as he remembered his
last experiance with the dress searching, picturing Courtney's beautiful face
standing in front of him, twirling her gorgeous gown in the light.
"... Earth to Jason, is it good or not?" Leah asked,
snapping him out of his daydream as she stood with an Electric blue strapless
gown wrapped around her expanding body.
Jason smiled up at his soon to be sister in-law and stood up,
enveloping her in a hug as she stood in surprise from the unexpected gesture.
"It's perfect" he said, hoping that that would be
enough for her to buy the dress so they could leave.
"Yeah I bet it is... Whatever Jason, if I look like crap,
so does your sister... and it will be all your fault too" Leah said
sternly, spinning around on her heal and marching back towards her curtain
hideaway.
"Fine with me, let's just go!" Jason called after her
as he heard her mumbling something in response. He held in a chuckle and walked
up to the nearest service person who greeted him cheerfully.
"Hello there! How can I help you this eve?" she asked
brightly, her face glowing strangly as Jason apprehensively cleared his throat.
"Um, my sister in law is changing out of a dress, and I was
wondering if I could get it in a size medium and a small also?" He asked
as she nodded hurriedly and rushed off into the back of the store after getting
the dress name and style number.
Once Leah had changed out of the dress and back into her street
clothes, her and Jason payed for all of the clothing items and walked out,
waiting at the front of the store for Max to pick them up.
"Ok, so we have all of the Bridesmaids dresses... Carly
just needs hers, we have to get Alyssa's and Lulu's.. and we also have to get
the rest of the guys' tux's after we get yours" Leah said preoccupiedly as
Jason only half listened, focusing on the approaching Limo as he saw the
silhoutte of a gun.
"Leah watch out!" He yelled, pushing her to the ground
and covering her body with his as gun shots rang out.
*PCPD*
Lucky stood at the front desk, shifting through papers
nonchalontaly with a bored look on his face. This is what his great cop career
had turned into. Running errands for the D.A, Playing operator, and some of the
more demeaning jobs the PCPD had to offer. What Lucky really wanted to do was
work in the squad car. Zooming through city streets, talking into the handheld
walkie talkie, working that glorious siren.. It was every police officer's
dream... or it was at least his.
Walking back to his tiny cubicle of an office, Lucky sat down at
his desk and dropped his head into his hands as he propped his elbows up on the
desk's surface.
"Hey Spencer, phone call for you.." One of the guards
said loudly while holding the phone against his broad chest. Lucky sighed and
stood up unwillingly, grabbing the phone from the man as he brought it to his
ear.
"Hello?" He said, forgetting his usual business mannor
as Carly's voice came on from the other line.
"Lucky? It's me." she said, holding the phone up to
her ear using her shoulder as she dragged several empty boxes downstairs.
"Hey Carly, is something wrong?" he asked, scratching
his head absentmindely as Carly stood up and took the phone into her hands.
"Not really, um... Have you talked to Leah recently?"
She asked in wonder as Lucky became worried.
"Not since she left with Jason to go shopping, I got called
into work unexpectedly... Did something happen?" he asked, his hands
gripping the desk's edge as Carly twirled her hair around her index finger.
"Not that I know of... Courtney was just worried about
Jason since they're not back yet." Carly said, now pacing back and forth
as both adults felt uneased from the missing relatives. "I'm sure there's
nothing to worry about.. You know me, p-... Paranoid as every!" Carly
said, stuttering slightly as Lucky bit his lip and nodded to himself.
"Yeah, your right.. everythings fine... Just... Let me know
if they contact you, I've been a litte worried ever since I left" Lucky
said. His voice soft with yearning and desperation.
"Of Course, Lucky. I promise, If I hear anything then I'll
call you... not that anythings wrong!" She said quickly in a loud and
defensive tone.
"No... No, of course not" he said as she nodded to
herself and hung up the phone, taking a deep breath as she closed her eyes.
Lucky stood next to his desk, drumming his fingers against the surface as his
ears started to ring, his heartbeat carrying throughout the room.
"Hey Spencer, I need you to take care of a case for
me." Scott Baldwin asked, poking his head around the corner as Lucky
jerked his head up. This was finally his shot at proving himself. "There
was a shooting down by Davids bridal on main-..." he continued as Lucky
tuned out.
"Leah had been at David's bridal" He remembered, his
heart stopping in his chest as he raced past Scott and ran out of the station
as fast as he could, jumping into his car he drove, speeding fast trying to get
to Leah, praying that she was ok.
*PH 11*
Out of nowhere, Leanna brought her hand up and slapped Samuel
across the face with as much anger and fear as she had inside of her.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"What the hell is wrong with you!" She screamed, her
face twisted in fury as Samuel wiped a spot of blood from his lip. "Damn
it Samuel.. What happened to all of our plans?! What am i-... What am I
supposed to do if something happens to you!" She cried, tears falling
rapidly from her dark brown eyes as Samuel reached over and took her firmly
into his arms.
"Don't even think like that. Nothing's going to happen to
me ok? I'm not doing this for Sonny so I can ruin our chance at a family.. This
is something I have to do.. more for myself really" he told her as she
buried her face into his shirt.
"What about me Samuel? What, do you just expect me to be ok
with this? With you putting your life on the line for a stupid job! Samuel,
this is all about status, and you know it!" She yelled, pushing herself
away from him while wiping the hot tears from her face.
Samuels heart broke as he listened to her, knowing that what she
was saying was true. Working in Sonny and Jason's kind of organization was
merely a job of status... but what else could he do? Work at Mcdonalds?
"Baby, just please... Listen to me" He begged, inching
his way to her as she wrapped her arms around her small stomach and bit her lip
to hold back a sob.
"I don't w-.. want to hear it Samuel... I'm going to bed,
Enjoy sleeping on the couch" She snapped, stomping off to their bedroom as
Samuel sighed and closed his eyes... It was going to be a long night.
*Davids Bridal*
Jason raised his head as soon as the shots cleared, keeping his
body pressed on top of Leah's just in case. Once he saw that the shooters had
left, he got up carefully and looked at his sister in-law, who had her hands
gripping her stomach as she looked around with a frightened look on her face.
"Are you ok? Are the babies alright??" Jason asked
quickly, holding onto her waist and her arm as he helped her up, an incredibly
scared look on his face in the process.
"Yeah, I'm ok, I promise.. I'm ok" She said
truthfully, still looking quite a bit shaken as her hands never left her
stomach, her face as pale as a sheet. "God Jase, what was that?" She
asked him, her bottom lip shaking as Sirens could be heard in the distance.
"I-.. I don't even know.. It-..." He said, stumbling
on his words as he tried to process what had just happened. He was interrupted
mid sentence as a Cop car pulled up to the curb and Lucky jumped out, racing
around the vehicle while Leah flew into his arms.
"Oh god, Baby I was so worried" Lucky said, embracing
his wife tightly against his body as one hand held onto her petite body and the
other cradled her head. "Are you ok? Did you get hurt?? How are the
babies?!" He asked all at once, causing Leah to hold her hand up to slow him
down.
"I'm ok, I'm not hurt.. and the babies are fine, their
still kicking up a storm" Leah said, reasurring him as Jason watched from
the sidelines. Leah patted her stomach thankfully as Lucky let out a sigh of
relief and leaned his forehead against hers.
"God, I thought I lost you" He whispered as she smiled
gently, closing her eyes as she wrapped her arms around his neck and leaned
into him for comfort.
"I'm stronger than you think" She said softly to him
as he rolled his eyes playfully. "And besides, Jason was there to protect
me" She told him, trying to get the message across, only Lucky was too
stubborn to listen to reason.
"Something still could have happened Leah, we came so close
to losing everything, I came close.." he said as she reached up and
caressed his cheek, watching the sadness in his eyes.
"Lucky, you can't keep me safe by yourself... Look, our
babies are perfectly fine, I'm fine.. You need to just calm down ok?" She
said, both of her hands moving to his chest as Jason turned and started walking
down the sidewalk so that he could call Max.
"Hey Morgan! I'm not finished with you yet" Lucky said
loudly, causing Jason to turn around with a look that said 'like I care'
written on his face.

"Hey Morgan! I'm not finished with you yet" Lucky said

*Davids Bridal*
"What do you want Lucky?" Jason asked impatiently,
gazing at him as Leah watched with a concerned look on her face.
"I want to know what kind of bull shit you and your boss
are pulling... Which enemy tried to kill my wife this time because of you
two?!" Lucky asked loudly as Jason looked at him like he was crazy.
"What the hell are you talking about!? I didn't even see
who the guy was before I pulled Leah down for cover. Maybe it's some guy who
hates cops and is out for revenge." Jason said sarcastically as Lucky
scowled at him.
"Why don't you quit the games and be a man for once instead
of hiding behind your gun." Lucky said daringly as Leah gaped at the two.
"Both of you just knock it off!" She cried as Jason
stepped towards his future brother in law with fire raging in his eyes.
"Tell that too your husband, or if you can even call him
that" he said as Lucky lost it and jumped forward, ready to give Jason the
beating of his life.
"Lucky quit!" Leah yelled, holding him back as Jason
smirked.
"Hey Lucky, where were you when your wife was home alone
and devestated over her mother's death? Oh, thats right... You were at work!
Talk about being married to your job.." Jason said, scoffing slightly as
Lucky shook his head and gritted his teeth.
"You leave my wife out of this." He growled, twisting
his hands into fists.
"Why? because she's the whole reason your coming after me?
Come on Lucky, you want me?... Come and get me." Jason said, holding his
arms out with his eyebrow raised. Lucky shrugged and took a step forward as
Leah's eyes widened.
"You asked for it." Lucky muttered, reaching into his
pocket as he took out a pair of handcuffs. "Jason Morgan, you are under
arrest for the attempted murder of Leah Corinthos Spencer and her unborn twin
daughters..." he said as Leah gasped and her hands flew up to her mouth in
horror.
"God this is insane! I did not try and murder my best
freind Damn it!" Jason cried, his face turning red in fury as Leah started
to cry, which went unnoticed by Lucky.
"Tell it to the Judge" Lucky said, taking Jason and
leading him to the cop car as Leah ran after him.
"Lucky!!! Stop it right now!!!" She screamed as Lucky
turned around.
"Leah I have to do this, for our family" he told her
as she shook her head in confusion. Where was all of this coming from?
"For our family?! Lucky, God what is wrong with
you?!!!" She yelled, her fingers gripping the roots of her hair in anger
as Lucky pushed Jason into the car and shut the door.
"Go home, this has nothing to do with you" He said as
he got into the front seat, leaving his wife on the sidewalk with her
expressions blank and pale. Something horribly wrong was going on.
Leah shook her head violently and rubbed the streaming tears out
of her eyes, reaching into her pocket as she pulled out her cell phone and dialed
her sister's number blindly, her brown hair sticking to the sides of her face.
"Jason?" Courtney's voice asked hopefully on the other
line as a sob escaped Leah's lips.
"Court..." Leah whispered shakily as Courtney's face
dropped slightly.
"Leah? What happened, are you ok?" She asked quickly,
thinking up worst case scenario's while Leah tried to get herself together.
"Umm.. Actually.. God, I don't know how to tell
you..." She said as Courtney's heart stopped in anticipation.
"Tell me what?" She said firmly,
gripping the phone tightly in her hands.
"Something happened... and Lucky arrested Jason... I can't
tell you everything on the phone but if you meet me at the police station I can
explain it bette-..." She said as Courtney drifted out of the
conversation. The only thing that she heard was that Jason was in jail...
and... Wait, Lucky arrested him???
"Lucky?.. But why..." She said confusedly as
Leah shut her eyes tightly, hot tears leaking out of the sides.
"Court, just meet me at the station." Leah said,
shutting her phone off as she slid to the ground in a squatting positing, her
head resting ontop of her knees as a car pulled up to the sidewalk. Leah gazed
up, praying that it wasn't the same person who shot at her and Jason, as her
eyes met with Marco's silhoutte.
"Ms. Leah? Are you alright?" He asked in a concerned
tone of voice as Leah stood up slowly and wiped her eyes dry, slipped her phone
back into her pocket.
"Not really, uh Marco could I get a ride to the PCPD?"
she asked as Marco nodded promptly and helped her carefully into the car before
seating himself down and driving off towards the police station.
*PCPD*
"Thanks Max" Courtney said hurriedly, jumping out of
the car as Max nodded before driving away. Courtney rushed up the stone steps
and made her way into the station, the sounds of computer keyboards typeing and
key chains rattling could be heard above the constant discussions. As soon as
her sister had hung up, she grabbed her coat and ran out of the penthouse, not
even bothering to leave Carly any sort of explanation, only thinking about
whether or not Jason was ok.
"Well.. Ms. Matthews, can I help you?" Scott Baldwin
asked from behind the front counter as Courtney ignored him and looked aroung
for any signs of Jason or Leah.
"Courtney!" She heard someone calling for her at the
entrance as she turned around quickly. Leah ran up as fast as she could with
her belly and flew into her sisters arms.
"Hey hey hey, What's going on? Where's Jason?" She
asked, rubbing Leah's back steadily as she felt her sister's body shake.
"Leah, talk to me please" she begged, her hands framing Leah's face
as she whimpered.
"Someone shot at me and Jason after we came out of Davids
Bridal... He protected me from the bullet and then Lucky came and accused Jason
and Sonny of being involved.. I t-.. I tried to get him to stop but he put
Jason in handcuffs and drove off.." She explained, her voice cracking as
she did so.
"Wait, He just left you alone in the middle of new
york!?" Courtney asked incrediously as Mac walked by them suddenly,
leading Jason into the interrogation room.
"Wa-... Jason!!" Courtney cried, catching the
attention of both men as Jason held out his arms for her, despite the fact that
he was still being handcuffed. "Oh my god, I was so worried... are you
ok?!" She asked, embracing him tightly before cupping his face in her
hands, his expressions worn and tired looking.
"I should be the one asking you that. How are you? Is the
baby ok?" He asked, putting all of his energy into her as she leaned her
forehead against his and placed his hands on her stomach.
"Yeah, we're both ok... God, I just missed you.. Leah told
me what happened" She said as his look turned serious. "Your going to
get out of here Jase, Leah won't let you sit in here for something you didn't
do." She said confidently as Jason nodded.
"I know, It-.." he said as Mac tapped him on the
shoulder.
"Social hour's over Morgan, let's go." He said as
Courtney sighed.
"I love you" Jason said, kissing Courtney on the lips
firmly as she pressed her lips together with a sad look on her face, hoping to
savor the taste of his lips on hers.
"I love you too" She whispered, watching Mac lead her
fiancee into the interrogation room as Leah put her head on her sisters
shoulder.
"It's going to be ok Court, I'll take ca-.." Leah
started as Courtney shifted back and looked at her sister like she was crazy.
"Leah, Your pregnant... You shouldn't have to take
c-..." She started as she was interrupted by Justus Ward, who was carrying
a briefcase, tapping her on her shoulder.
"Excuse me, are you Courtney Matthews?" he asked as
both Leah and Courtney looked at him suspiciously.
"Yeah, thats me." She said wearily as he shifted his
bag and held out his hand.
"I'm Justus Ward, Jason's Attorney and Cousin.. Kind of
unexpected to be back here but it seems that he has been staying out of trouble
while he's been with you." He said with a smile as Courtney returned it
and her expressions softened.
"Well, I don't really know about his past troubles with the
Law, but I'm glad that your here to help us." she said as Justus nodded.
"Anything that I can do to help, Jason is family... and I'm
guessing by the size of that ring that you are too?" Justus said, noticing
Courtney's engagement ring as she blushed a dark shade of pink.
"Oh... well, we were planning on getting married in a few
weeks.." She said, slightly embarresed as Justus nodded once again and
took her hand, giving it a quick squeeze.
"Congratulations, it means alot to see my cousin so happy..
Let me know if you guys need anything" He said to her before bowing his
head carefully at Leah, who stood behind her sister, giving Jusus the Corinthos
stare, the most she could give him at the moment for her gratitude.
Justus turned and swiftly made his way into the interrogation
room as Courtney's eyes followed him before she turned around and looked at her
sister in confusion.
"Do you know him?" Courtney asked, thinking back to
the moment before Justus walked away as Leah crossed her arms across her chest.
"I called him here because I knew that he would help Jase,
and I knew that he is a trusted worker for Sonny with Legal problems.. but no I
do not know him personally." She said in a serious tone, looking in at the
room where Jason was being kept as Mac sat in there and talked to him, Justus
watching from the sidelines.
*PH 4*
Sonny sat down on his leather couch with a sigh, his white
button down shirt slightly coming up from being tucked in his pants, after
putting Michael and Morgan down for the night. He ran his hand over his face
just as Leanna opened the door forcefully and stomped her way into the room.
Sonny looked up at his cousin, his head hanging heavily with sleep as she gave
him the hardest look of hatred that she could muster up.
"What did I do now?" Sonny asked, sighing deeper than
he had before as Leanna started to shake with anger.
"How could you Sonny?" Leanna whispered loudly,
knowing that her little cousins were asleep upstairs.
"How could I what??" He asked, looking up at her in
confusion as she shook her head.
"You know what you did! Don't try and deny it." She
said, accusing him firmly as he looked at her like she was crazy.
"Ok, no I really don't know what I did.. Please enlighten
me" He said, leaning back to get a good look at her as she scoffed at him.
"You ruined my family, thats what you did! How the hell
could you hire my husband into that horrible environment you call a
business?!" She screamed, forgetting all curtesy as Sonny sat and took all
the she dished out to him, he had expected that she would react like this.
"God, you have no Idea what you've done!! Samuel could have gotten a good,
safe job, instead of being hired into that hell whole-.." She started
again before the door suddenly burst open again, only to have several officers
walk in as Sonny jumped up worriedly.
"Sorry to bother you miss... But we are here to take Mr.
Corinthos downtown" One of the men said, walking towards Sonny as Leanna
tried to say something, although no words would come.
"What the hell did you do now??!" Leanna asked loudly
as soon as she found her voice as Sonny twisted his face up in fury and looked
at the man who was leading the officers... Capelli.
"Sonny Corinthos, You are under arrest for the attempted
murder Leah Corinthos Spencer and her unborn twin girls, you have the right to
re-..." he said as one of his fellow men walked behind Sonny and cuffed
his hands behind his back.
"What happened to my sister?!?" Sonny yelled, his face
burning with anger, praying that his baby sister was ok.
"Well it seems like your plan failed as she is fine, but I
would advise y-..." Capelli started saying with a smirk as Leanna watched
in confusion.
"I did not try and hurt my sister damn it, who put you up
to this!?" Sonny cried, spitting every which way as Capelli snapped his
fingers, while one of the officers led Sonny out of the room. "Wait, My
family is upstairs.." He said as Leanna jerked out of her transe.
"I'll tell Carly, Sonny it's ok.." She said honestly as
Sonny nodded before the door closed loudly behind him.
*PCPD*
Several minutes later....
Courtney stood against the cold glass of the interrogation room
window, chewing her finger nails in worry as Jason's eyes studied her, glancing
at her lovingly as she fought to keep her emotions in tacked. Unexpectedly, Ric
Lansing walked past her and pushed his way into the room.
"Comissioner, we need this room for another suspect, if you
can move Mr. Morgan elsewhere than I would -..." He started before
Courtney heard what he was saying and interrupted him from behind.
"What are you doing with Jason?" She asked, glancing
between both officials as Mac stood up.
"It's alright Ms. Matthews, I'll just be taking him into
another pa-..." he said as a stampede of arguments sounded into the
building.
"I want to speak to my Attorney!" Sonny yelled,
fighting as hard as he could to get out of the handcuffs that bound him as
Capelli rolled his eyes.
"Lansing, what do you want me to do with Corinthos?"
He asked as Ric appeared from his office.
"Put him in the interrogation room." He said as Jason
was moved out by Mac and another officer, leaving Courtney frozen. "You
should be used to it, right Sonny?" He answered snidly as a yell came from
no where.
"What the hell do you think your doing?!?" Leah
screamed, coming towards them, pregnant and all, with her purse flinging from
all angles.
"Miss..." One of the officers said, trying to hold her
back from the room as she started to beat him with her bag.
"No, let my brother go!" She cried, pushing her way
past him as she ran into the room, jumping into her brother's arms while tears
traveled down her cheeks. "God Sonny..." She said softly, as he held
onto her as tight as possible.
"Shhh, it's going to be ok" He said soothingly, tears
sparking his own dark brown eyes as Lucky bounded into the room, his eyes
widening from the scene he had just walked in on.
"Leah, get away from him" He ordered as she let go of
Sonny and turned around, a look of disgust and shock painted on her face.
"What did you just say?" She said in disbelief as he
swallowed deeply.
"He tried to have you killed, I don't want you an-.."
he started as she pulled her hands into fists and started to shake with anger.
"Lucky, leave us alone, Now" She said loudly, her eyes
burning through him as he refused to budge.
"I will not leave you here with hi-..." He said as she
walked over to him, her _expression staying the same.
"Then let me help you." She said, pushing him out of
the room before slamming the steel door behind him. Lucky stood in surprise,
gazing at the cold metal.
"Baby, what happened?" Sonny asked, seating himself
down at the large table as Leah followed suit, taking a deep breath to calm
herself down as she adjusted her clothing.
"Jase and I were outside of Davids Bridal with the dresses,
and then this guy comes in a car and starts shooting. Jason covered me from the
bullets and then Lucky came and accused him of being involved." She said,
choking on her own words as she tried to hold back tears. "He also started
saying that you had something to do with it, and then he took Jason in the
squad car and left me there.. Marco came and got me a minute or so later."
She told him, unable to continue as she broke down in sobs.
"Oh Angel, it'll be ok.. There has to be some
explanation.." Sonny said, bringing his hand up to cup her cheek as she
whimpered. "You know I would never do anything to hurt you right?" he
said, his eyes filling with sadness as Leah looked up at him in surprise.
"God, Sonny of course no-..." She started as Ric
pulled open the door once again, more forcefully this time.
"Family times over, let's go." He said as Leah jumped
up from her seat, causing Sonny to brace himself for whatever would come next.
"You know what Ric, you do anything to my brother and I
swear to god.. I will come after you" she whispered loudly, her tone
forceful as Ric gave her a sarcastic look.
"With what, your prenatal vitamins?" he asked as she
grabbed him by his shirt and slammed him up against the back wall, her face
right up against his.
"Don't play with me you Son of a b*tch! I am no-.."
She said as Sonny grabbed her and pulled her off of Ric.
"Hey, don't freak yourself out because of me ok? I don't
want this to damage your health." He told her rubbing her arms as best as
he could as she breathed in deeply. "I can't stay here wi-..." he
started saying sadly as she shook her head hurriedly.
"It's fine, I need to speak with my husband" She said,
her lips pursed together as Sonny raised his eye brows.
"Alright, I'll see you later.." he said, kissing her
cheek as she returned the gesture and gave his hand a quick squeeze, turning
around as she watched him walk out of the room to be admitted.
"You need to go home Leah" Lucky said as he walked
into the room, shutting the door behind himself as she watched him steadily.
"Not until I get some answers... Why the hell are you doing
this Lucky?! Is it because of your job?? You think that Ric with promote you if
you help put my brother in Jail?!" She asked, stepping towards him as he
backed down slightly, still trying to hold his own.
"I'm just trying to protect my family" He defended
himself as she laughed spitefully.
"No Lucky, you know what your doing? Your destroying me!
God, I hate you!!!!!!!" She screamed. and not just a horribly loud scream,
it was more like the deathly blood curtling screams. Leah rushed passed her
husband and opened the door, shutting it behind her with such force that the
glass shattered all over the floor. She ran through the deparment, pushing her
way past Carly, who called after her while walking through the entrance.. It
was too late... she was gone.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________
Hatred, fear, and sadness flooded through her body as Leah raced
down the sidewalks of the bare city. The familiar hot tears burned her cheeks,
capturing her hair as it clung plastered to her face.
"Oh, God.." She choked out, her words being enveloped
by a sob, body sinking to the dirty wooden planks of the docks as she held her
hands over her heart, her eyes shut tightly, desperatly attempting to hold back
the forlorn tears. It was all a nightmare.. Any minute now she would wake up,
warm and relaxed in her own bed with Lucky's arms wrapped securely around her
waist, and they would talk about the twins, nothing bad would happen... But why
wasn't she waking up? Why was her head throbbing, her heart beating at a rapid
pace, constant sobs choking her words, why couldn't this all just be a
nightmare?
Then suddenly, pulling her up out of the darkness, two strong
arms supported her carefully, wrapped gently around her waist, lifting, picking
her up slowly, taking a step forward before setting her down on the abandoned
old bench overlooking the bay.
"Daddy" Leah whispered, her eyes discovering him with
his face twisted in worry, blue eyes concerned and caring. Her head fell
foward, burrying steadily into her fathers shoulder as Mike wrapped his arms
around her, hands traveling up and down her back soothingly.
"Sweetheart, what happened? Why are you out here a-..."
He started asking, leaning his own head against hers as she gently shook from
grief.
"Dad, It's Sonny" She cried, lifting her head up,
pulling away from him as he sat in complete confusion.
"What about Sonny? What happened?" he asked quickly,
his eyes continuing to search her, studying for a way to help her.
"Lucky... Jason was arrested... Sonny.." She said
hysterically, sobbing harder than ever, her words coming out in pieces as Mike
watched her, eyebrows furrowed in thought.
"Where is Sonny, baby? Just tell m-..." He started
asking her again as she burst out.
"Daddy, Lucky arrested Sonny and Jason!" She screamed,
eyes brightly shining with moist, salty tears.
"Oh god, honey.." Mike said, pulling his daughter
forward, towards him.
"No, Daddy I hate him, I hate, I-..." Leah said, her
tone firm, teeth grinding together.
"Hey, Hey Hey. Don't you say that, everything's going to be
ok." he said, looking up to the stars as Leah cried softly into his shirt.
"Adella, please help us" he thought, praying up to his true love as
he held their daughter in his arms.

"Hey, What does a pregnant lady have to do to get some
service around here?!" Carly cried loudly, standing next to the front
desk, hand bobbing over the small brass bell.
"Mrs. Corinthos, you are disturbing the officers here,
please keep it down." Mac called, sighing, feeling deeply annoyed as Carly
narrowed her eyes together, growling with her eyes locked on the man ahead of
her.
"Let my husband go and I'll keep it down" She said menacingly,
glaring with a look of hatred portrayed on her face.
"If he's convicted of this crime, he won't be leaving any
time soon" He told her, slamming the paper cubicle seperators together as
Carly balled her hands into fists, stomping towards him angrily.
"Sonny didn't do anything you stu-..." She started,
screaming loudly as Courtney rushed around the corner, her breathing ragged and
labored.
"Carly, Carly hey.." She said, touching her sister
in-laws arm gently as Carly turned around and let out a breath of relief,
pulling her best friend into an embrace.
"Hey, have you heard anything yet?" Carly asked,
pulling away slightly to look at Courtney's face, which was burdoned with worry
and sadness.
"Not yet, I just got to talk to Jase, he looks so upset
Carly.. I don't-... I don't know what to do" She said, her bottom lip
quivering as tears slowly made their presence known in her sapphire eyes.
"I know sweetie, it's going to be ok... It's
alright.." Carly told her, holding her close once more, supporting her
head gently.
"God Carly, all I wanted to do was get married to the man I
love.." Courtney said, tears clouding her eyes, sniffling softly she shook
her head in confusion. ".. Our lives are so complicated, I mean-... Do you
think Leah's ok?" She asked shakily, hormones taking over the conversation
as Carly stood, startled from the change in topic.
"Courtney, don't worry about Leah ok? She's a big girl, we
need to focus on you right now." She told her sister in-law, stroking the
sides of her tanned arms, trying to sooth her. Everything had seemed to be
about Leah lately... First her birthday, with the anniversary of Adella's
death, then her adoptive mother's death, then Lucky arresting Jason... No one
could really protect her from those things, they were just a part of life, and
she was an adult who would have to work though them in her own way.
"I know, I know.. I just-... God she's under so much stress
and she's my baby sister Carly, I-..." Courtney said, closing her eyes and
bringing her hands up to frame her face, sliding them back, raking her fingers
through her hair.
"And she's my sister in-law, but she can handle her own
life Court, you shouldn't be stressing yourself out over this... You know what,
we need to go talk to someone, they're has to be someone who can tell us what's
going on-..." Carly said, her voice fading off as she grabbed Courtney's
arm and started walking to the back of the station, nearly running into Justus
while turning around a corner.
"Oh god, Justus hey." Carly said, blinking several
times to adjust her vision as Courtney smirked slightly.
"Mrs. Corinthos, it's great to see you again." Justus
said, nodding his head at Carly, who gave him a quaint smile while waving her
hands dismissfully.
"It's Carly, not Mrs. Corinthos" She said, giving him
an obviouse look, folding her arms across her chest and resting them on top of
her swollen belly.
"Well Carly, it's a pleasure. Congratulations on the
daughter..." He said, motioning towards her stomach. Courtney watched
closely from the sidelines in amusement as if she was watching a soap opera.
"Oh thank you, thank you.. Um, have you heard anything
about what-..." Carly started to say, rolling her shoulders and trying to
push the subject forward.
"Not as of yet, I'm meeting with Ric, Mac and some other
officials soon to really figure out whats going on... Then I can work with what
I get from there." He told her, giving the two women apologetic looks as
Carly smiled.
"Thanks Justus, I appreciate what your doing for Sonny and
Jason" She said, grabbing his hand as he nodded once more and gave her
hand a quick squeeze.
"So do I" Courtney spoke up, wrapping her arms around
herself as Justus sighed deeply.
"I care about what happens to Jason, he's family... and
Sonny's is one of my best clients, i'll do my best to fix this." He said,
giving the two a quick smile before retreating around the corner to the front
of the station. Just as Carly turned to Courtney, Lucky came out from one of
the interrogation rooms, his face red and strained.
"Whoa, where the hell do you think your going?" Carly
burst out, holding her hand up to stop him. Lucky looked up at her slowly, his
right hand resting on the side of his face as his eyes burned into hers.
"What do you want Carly?" He asked tiredly, feeling as
if she was interrupting something important while resting his hands on his
hips.
"I want an explanation damn it! Why the hell did you arrest
my best friend?!" She cried, brown eyes searing with anger as Courtney
shifted her stance nervously.
"Look, I'm just trying to protect my wife o-..." Lucky
said, holding his hands up in surrender as Carly ripped into him.
"No Lucky, Your killing her! Sonny and Jason would never do
anything to hurt her and you know it! God, you are such a self centered son
o-..." She continued as Courtney flinched, knowing what was coming while
moving foward and tapping Carly on the shoulder.
"I'm going to go get something at Kelley's, I'll be back
later" She whispered loudly to Carly who's eyes never left Lucky, nodding
her head slowly in response.
Courtney carefully slipped away from the two before the
conversation got to the point of no return, took a deep breath, and walked out
of the police station, ready to take a break by herself with a nice warm cup of
tea.
"Stay out of this Carly" Lucky said warningly, his
face as cold as stone, unmoving and emotionless.
"My husband's in jail, I can't stay out of it." She
reminded him, matching his look just as well with her hands clentched into
tight fists. "I don't know what the hell you think your doing, but you
better think about your family and how much your ruining the perfect future you
wanted for your daughters" She snapped before spinning around on her heel
and walking off to harrass Ric.
Lucky stood in silence, Carly's words playing back into his mind
like a tape recorder. Over, over and over again.
"you better think about your family and how much your
ruining the perfect future you wanted for your daughters"
"No!" He yelled, covering his ears with his hands,
trying to block out the words. He had to be strong about this, there was no
backing down.
*The Docks*
"God daddy, I hate this so much.. I can't..." Leah
said, her voice broken, shaky and high. Her hands wringing each other as Mike stroked
his daughter's cheek.
"Leah, everything's going to be ok, alright? You need to
listen to me.. It's goin-..." Mike started as Leah shook her head
furiously, interupting him.
"No, no it's really not.. I'm so sick of everything being
about me... I just want to have some peace in my life, I want to put my family
first... I want something more than this..." She said, urgency and
yearning visible in the tone of her voice as she let out a sigh.
"Baby, everything isn't always about you" Mike said,
brushing aside the topic as if it were the silliest thing he had ever heard
while Leah licked her lips, trying her best to stop the silent tears constantly
flowing down her face.
"Daddy, I haven't stopped crying since before I turned
19." She snapped, giving him a sarcastic look as he raised an eyebrow
while taking a hold of her hand.
"What about earlier, when you were with Jason?" He
asked, hoping that if she opened up to him, maybe she would be in better
condition to go home alone while he checked up on his son.
Leah nodded slowly, visions of that day in front of the bridal
shop flashing through her mind. "You know, I still see it. The frightened
look on Jason's face as Lucky put him into that cop car. I've never seen him
that scared, and I know it was because of Courtney and the baby.." She
said, staring off into space, her body numbing. "I don't know what to do
Daddy, I'm so scared..." She told her father, her words cracking as his
heart broke for her.
"Honey, everyone's going to be behind you, you ha-..."
He started, trying to convince her that her family would support her through
everything, even though coming up unsuccessful.
"No their not Daddy, they shouldn't have too. I'm an adult
remember? I have to figure out what I'm going to do next, whether Lucky and I
can move forward from this or not..." she said, looking down at her hands
as Mike's ears perked up and he looked at his daughter strangely.
"Are you thinking about a divorce?" He asked her
firmly, watching her with intense eyes, the way she shifted in position and
personality.
"I have to be ready for anything right? I mean, I don't
want to think that my marriage to Lucky was never meant to last, but what do I
do if it doesn't?" She asked, resting her arm up against the back of the
bench as her hand supported her head.
"You shouldn't have to think about this" Mike said,
shaking his head in disbelief as Leah closed her eyes sadly, her face twisting
into a painful _expression as she thought about her marriage.
"But I am.. I don't know, it might be for nothing.. I just
need to keep my thought's intact, at least for my girls.." She told her
father, speaking with all of the honesty inside of her as Mike sighed and
looked into her dark brown eyes.
"I love you baby, and I promise you, everything will work
out for the best" He said, leaning forward as his lips pressed against her
forehead, kissing her skin gently as she smiled to herself. Leah nodded,
watching as her father stood up silently, turning to look at her before
disappearing into the darkness of the streets, most likely heading for the
police station.
Leah gazed into the empty night, body limp against the bench
just as her senses sharpened and a figure emerged from the dark. She brought
her legs up against her chest despite her rounding stomach, her hands gribbing
the chairs edge tightly, causing her knuckles to turn white. This was not
exactly the best time for her to be mugged.
"Leah?" A Man asked, his tone concerned and curiouse
as he stepped out of the night's shadow.
"Samuel?" Leah said incrediously, the last of her
tears drying up as she watched the italian man approach her.
"What's wrong?" he asked, his features softening in
worry, taking a seat next to her as she cleared her throat.
"Marriage trouble... what about you?" She asked,
noticing a red mark on his face as well as the sadness in his eyes.
"Leanna's mad at me, I agreed to work with Sonny.." He
said, his voice trailing off as Leah's eyes widened in surprise.
"Are you f*cking kidding me?" She asked him loudly,
causing him to jerk back in alarm from her language.
"Um.. No I'm not" He said awkwardly, rubbing his hands
together, leaning his head from right to left.
"Is that where you got the red mark from? I'm surprised she
didn't kill you" Leah said in awe, shaking her head at him as his
shoulders slumped foward, mentally kicking himself for the way he handled
things.
"So am I" He told her truthfully, nodding slightly as
she placed a hand on his shoulder, smiling at how guilty he looked. The man had
a concience.
"It's alright, you were just doing it for Leanna and Alex,
right?" She said, trying to put Lucky's answer against Samuels, hoping to
understand why her husband was acting the way he was.
"In a way I am, but then their's a part of me that justs
wants to do something different ya know? I want to explore different
possibilities, live on the edge alittle.." He said, explaining his actions
to his cousin who listened closely, laughing ironically at the last few words.
"Yeah, I've been there" She said, remembering the past
when she thought about only danger, freedom and suspense, let alone herself.
"So what's the marriage trouble about?" Samuel asked,
bringing Leah out of her revery as she looked up at him unknowingly.
"Oh, uh... Lucky jumped to conclusions, arrested Jason, and
now my brother is down their being questioned as well.. I'm just rethinking
alot of my priorities right now." She told him, her tone sounding
unfortunate.
"Well babe, you know I'm here for you.. maybe in some weird
way I can relate." He told her as she allowed a smile to appear on her
lips, leaning forward she embraced Samuel, clutching her arms around his neck
for support as he held onto her tightly.
"I always knew you were perfect for this family" She
whispered into his ear, breathing deeply as he felt a smile tug at his lips.
*Somewhere around Port Charles*
Mike hurriedly walked down the street, heading over to Kelley's
to check out before making his way to the PCPD, where hopefully he could find
out what was really going on. Courtney sat at the front counter, sleepily
breathing in the steam from her hot cup of tea as her head hung between her
shoulders, legs twisting her revolving chair slowly.
Coming up to the front of the diner, Mike brushed his shoes off
on the mat quickly before pulling the door open, gliding into the room without
seeing Courtney ahead of him. Just as he was heading into the back, a flash of
blonde caught his eye, causing him to stop as he looked in the direction of his
oldest daughter.
"Hi sweetheart, what are you doing here alone? I would have
thought you'd be at the station-..." He said, running up to her, catching
his breath while she looked up at him and sighed, shrugging her shoulders.
"I know, I talked to Jason though, and he wants me to get
some sleep, so I"ll be there first thing in the morning." She said,
trying to sound as cheerful as possible without coming off as fake. "How
did you know?" She asked softly, her eyes looking at him questioningly.
"I ran into Leah.. She was a wreck.. I got some of the story
out of her.. but she so broken, I didn't know what to do but hold her..."
Mike explained, his words causing Courtney to feel the pain inside of her rise
to the surface, tears reforming surely.
"I need to go to her, I have to help her, she-..." She
started, pushing her cup away while grabbing at her things. Mike stood up from
the chair he had sat down in moments ago, holding his hand up to stop her.
"Courtney, she'll be ok, don-..." He said, trying to
convince her to stay when she interrupted him.
"Daddy, she's my sister, she needs me! I-..." She
cried, her voice sounding urgent as Mike refused to move, standing his ground.
"She needs you to stay safe baby.. Just... come here, sit
and tell me what really happened..." He offered, motioning for her to sit
back in the chair as she contemplated what she was going to do next. She
finally gave in, sighing as she flung her bag back onto the counter top.
"Alright, Jason said that the two of them were buying the
bridesmaids dress for our wedding, then they went outside and I guess, a man
drove buy them and started to shoot.. Jase pushed Leah to the ground and
covered her until the shot's stopped, and Lucky pulled up, accusing Jason of
setting up the whole thing, including Sonny..." She told him, her words
coming out slowly as if she was trying to remember the last conversation she
had with her fiancee. "Everything goes off from there." She finished,
smacking her lips together as Mike scratching the top of his head, blinking
several times as he processed the story.
"This is crazy..." Mike muttered, hardly understanding
how his children could be going through something like this as he just sat back
and witnessed it all.
"Yeah, tell me about it" Courtney said sarcastically,
taking a deep breath while flipping her hair over her shoulder.
"Are you going to be ok, honey?" He asked her, concern
for her showing on his face as she scoffed at the question.
"I will once I get Jason back" She said firmly, ready
to recieve what ever Ric, Mac and the rest of them had to dish out at her.

"I will once I get Jason back" She said firmly, ready
to recieve what ever Ric, Mac and the rest of them had to dish out at her.

Mike sighed, realizing that there was obviously no known way to
calm either of his daughter's down besides just allowing them to go off and
take care of their own lives, despite how hard it would be for him to just back
off.
"You know what Dad, I should get going.. Jason needs me and
I don't think I will be able to sleep tonight anyway..." Courtney said,
breaking the silence as she stood up, sliding her mug across the counter as she
snatched her purse from it's location, hanging loosely around her chair.
"I'll see you later" She said, giving him a soft smile while tossing
a five doller bill onto the counter.
Mike watched her leave, a look of remorse flooding his features
as he scratched the back of his head gently. "I don't know what to do with
them.." He thought to himself, thinking of his kids while picking up
Courtney's empty cup, taking it into the back of the diner along with her
payment.
*PCPD*
Leah brushed in through the front doors, pulling her down filled
jacket closer to her expanding body as she stepped by the cold white counters.
Ric spotted her entering the station and stood up from his seat in the back
cubicle, meeting her halfway before she rounded the corner.
"Back again Mrs. Spencer?" He asked in a brisk tone,
giving her a quaint smirk as she cleared her throat and turned towards him.
"I need to talk to my brother" She said firmly,
looking directly into his eyes, the one's that matched her own while he held out
his arms expectantly.
"I'm right here" He said smartly, standing there as if
he owned the world. Leah rolled her eyes, spun around on her heel and walked to
the back of the building, not caring whether she was supposed to or not.
Looking into every bare room she passed by, Leah began to feel
deveated, unable to find her brother until she came to the square box of a room
at the end of the cold hallway. She walked inside, spotting Sonny sitting next
to a large metal surface with his right wrist handcuffed to the table leg, and
head resting down on top of it.
"Bubby?" Leah whispered, her bottom lip shaking as
Sonny lifted his head up from the table and looked in the direction of the
voice.
"Hey Baby, Come'ere" He said gruffily, motioning for
her to walk over to him as she complied, slowly pacing while keeping herself
together.
Once she made it to her brother's side, she shakily took his
hand in hers, forcing a smile to her lips as Sonny watched her. "Ar-...
Are you ok?" She asked, her _expression turning pained with sadness while
Sonny gave her a quick squeeze, unsure of how to make his sister freed from the
sadness she was clearly feeling.
"I will be once I get you smilin' again.. Whats
wrong?" He asked, Bringing her closer while resting one hand on her
enlarged belly, smiling as he felt his nieces greeting his touch.
"I-.. I want you home Sonny, with your kids.. You shouldn't
be in here because of my husband" She said, tears glistening through her
dark brown eyes as Sonny stared intently.
"Hey-... Hey, look at me. This is not your fault." He
said firmly, bringing his free hand up to her face, wiping away her fallen
tears while she scoffed.
"Well it's not your's either! God, you shoul-.." Leah
started, getting her self worked up all over again. Sonny took his hand and
layed it over her lips, causing her to immediatly shut her mouth while glaring
at him.
".. Shouldn't be here, I know.. But ya know, it's going to
be ok. I'll find a way to get home to everyone, you just need to take care of
yourself." Sonny told her obviously, bringing both of her hands to his,
rubbing the back of them with the pad of his thumb.
"I know.. I know" She answered softly, sighing while
looking down at the floor. Just as Sonny was about to respond, Mac and Ric both
walked into the room, followed by Lucky who was leading Jason, as well as
Carly, Courtney, Justus and a fellow guard, catching both sibling's attention.
"Mr. Corinthos, I have an announcment to make, so I thought
it'd be nice and cozy to bring everyone into your room..." Mac said
loudly, drawing attention to himself as Sonny's eyes fixated on Carly, who took
a deep breath and leaned against the stone wall next to her sister in-law who
was busy concentrating on Jason.
Sonny changed his view to Mac, nodding his head in reply,
signaling that he was listening. Mac looked around the room, gazing at the
family who's lives would be changed from the announcement that he was about to
make.
"Alright then... Spencer, Lansing.." He started, clearing
his throat as he looked up at his colleagues who both seemed taken aback from
being addressed by the commissionar. "I'm afraid that we do not have
enough evidence to put Corinthos and Morgan behind bars, all of our sources
have come up clean, we're going to have to let them go." He finished,
causing Justus' face to turn victorious as he held up his arms, pacing back
like he had just won a marathon. Leah's face broke out into a grin while she
pulled Justus over, kissing him on the cheek while whispering a soft thank you
in his ear. Carly clapped her hands together several times, nodding her head as
she glared menacingly at both her cousin and Ric.
"Try harder next time, Ric" She spoke up, daring him
with her words while she walked over, embracing Sonny as tightly as she could
with her growing stomach. Ric breathed out through pursed lips, spinning on his
heel as he marched out of the room, arms swinging back and forth like a two
year old being put in time out.
"Thank you god, thank you-.." Courtney cried out,
shimmering tears falling from her eyes as she ran to Jason, pulling him to her
as he held her closely despite his hands still being in handcuffs. "Oh
god, Jase-.." She muttered, burrying her head into his shirt while closing
her eyes.
"It's over baby, it's going to be ok now" he whispered
soothingly, taking a deep breath.
Lucky stood, frozen to the spot after hearing that everything he
had started had basically been for nothing.. They were getting off. Staring off
into space, eyes locked on the wall in front of him he stayed, silently waiting
as Leah gritted her teeth, balled her hands into fists and walked up to him.
"I guess you didn't get your way huh?" She asked, eyes
burning through him as he rubbed his face tiredly.
"Lea-..." He started when she suddenly held her hand
up, interrupting him.
"Lucky, I am so sick of fighting with you, and I'm
sick of crying, and it may just be my hormones.. I don't know, I just-... I
don't want to have to worry about you going after my brother, or about my girls
not having a dad" She started loudly, her voice breaking as she spoke,
desperatly fighting the clouding tears away while everyone in the room turned
to watch them. "I just want you." She finished, holding her hands out
a few inches away from her body, choking on a sob as Lucky listened intently,
eyes glazing over.
"I want us.. I want to feel the way I've always felt with
you, I don't want this!" She cried, bring her hands up as she raked her
fingers through her hair. Courtney held on to Jason, biting her bottom lip to
control her tears, fighting herself to go in and save her sister from the
battle she was going through.
"Why couldn't you just listen to me?! Is your job that much
more important to you? More important then your family, Lucky?" Leah asked
him, urging him to answer her.
"Oh come on, you know it's not" He spoke up, giving
her a look that said 'this is ridiculous' while Carly and Sonny sat together,
both with looks of morose.
"Oh but isn't it? I practically begged you to lay off of my
brother and you barely blinked before you locked him up! God, I just want to be
happy! I want to plan my sister's wedding, I want to buy little lace dresses
for my daughters and you know what?! Maybe this is a sign that we were never
supposed to be together at all." She yelled, her voice echoing off the
stone walls as she rushed out of the room, heading back to her penthouse, just
wanting to get away.
"God-..." Lucky muttered under his breath, storming
out of the room as well while heading into his office to think things through,
especially on what he should do next.
"Hey you.. Make yourself useful and unlock these"
Jason said, breaking the immediate silence as he addressed the extra guard who
had remained in the room through out the family's conflict. The man coldly took
a ring of key's from his belt loop, stuck one into the hole of Jason's
handcuffs and unlocked them, taking them off as Jason sighed and rubbed his
wrists. The man was about to leave when Jason inturrupted him in the doorway,
causing the guard to turn around.
"Wait, unlock him too." He ordered, motioning over to
Sonny who sat quitely in his chair, Carly standing behind him with her hands on
his shoulders.
"Someone feeling bossy tonight?" Sonny retorted,
smiling at his partner who gave him a look before grabbing a hold of Courtney's
hand which was shaking.
"Baby, whats wrong?" Jason asked her, a look of worry
spreading over his face as she looked up at him.
"I Just want to go home Jase.." She answered softly,
looking down at the floor. Jason nodded understandingly, not wanting to spend
another minute in that hell hole of a place.
"Ok.. You guy's going to be alright?" Jason answered,
looking at Sonny and Carly while him and Courtney started towards the door,
watching as Carly nodded.
"We're right behind you" She said, smiling slightly,
helping Sonny up from his seat.

Chapter 54
"Oh
but isn't it? I practically begged you to lay off of my brother and you barely
blinked before you locked him up! God, I just want to be happy! I want to plan
my sister's wedding, I want to buy little lace dresses for my daughters and you
know what?! Maybe this is a sign that we were never supposed to be together at
all.".
"we
were never supposed to be together at all"
"never
supposed to be together at all"
"never"
"never"
"Damn
it!!" Leah screamed, replaying the last words she said in her mind,
pressing the palms of her hands against her head while shutting her eyes
tightly, steadying herself against the hallway walls of Harborview towers. How
desperatly she wanted to hide away from it all, lose herself in a large bottle
of booze, pass out until the late afternoon a day later and have no
responsabilites to deal with, no pain, no expectations, how simple her life
used to be before she decided to face reality. Now she had to look her marriage
in the eyes, decide where to go from the place she was stuck at now and whether
she should go or stay. The bad girl, the rebel, the wanderer, that was who she
used to be. Now she was going to be a mom to two tiny innocent babies who never
asked for anything except for love and protection, and no matter what would
happen, she would make sure that they would always have that constant.
She
pushed herself away from the wall, staggering towards her penthouse, looking
for something familiar, comforting, reassuring.. something. Unconsciously
inserting the key into the lock, the door swung open to reveal the place dark
and lonely. "He didn't even bother to come after me" she thought to
herself, barely noticing her surroundings as her legs carried her aimlessly
into the nursery, her keys slipping through her fingers, falling onto the floor
with one sharp movement.
She
walked through the doorway, into the pastel wonderland that was made as a safe
haven, a comfort home for her girls by their father. Every memory of Lucky that
she had inside of her ached her heart, tearing her up inside. Fueled by the war
she was fighting with herself. Leah softly knelt and sat down on the plush
carpet, bringing her legs together underneath her while her chin quivered and a
single tear slipped down her cheek.

"I
Still don't see why we couldn't have stopped at Mcdonalds" Carly's voice
spoke up as the group of four walked out of the elevator onto their floor.
"We've
had too much excitement already Carly, that would have outdone all of us."
Sonny replied, smiling at her as she gave him a look and walked up to their
penthouse.
"Yeah
your the expert, your idea of fun is Drinking brandy and putting on an
apron" She retorted, crossing her arms across her chest as Jason chuckled.
"Burn
baby Burn-..." He sang as Courtney interrupted him.
"Jason."
she said warningly.
Carly
ignored Jasons comment and opened the doors to the penthouse, waving at Leticia
who rushed out, leaving for an urgent appointment she had to take care of, as
Sonny followed her in.
"Do
you guys want to come in and get drunk with me?" Carly asked, mostly for
reaction, causing Sonny to nearly trip over himself and Courtney to laugh
softly.
"We
have some things we need to plan and finalize" Courtney explained, a
mysterious air surrounding her as Carly's face looked smug and she nodded
knowingly.
"Wedding
things?" She asked with wonder as Courtney shrugged and grabbed a hold of
Jasons hand, intertwining their fingers.
"Maybe."
She answered playfully, walking out of the penthouse as Carly shook her head.
"What
kind of answer is that? Not a good one, thats what it is-.." Carly
muttered to herself, walking into the kitchen as Sonny chuckled and hung his
jacket up on the coat rack.
"Carly,
honey, what are you going to do in there?" Sonny asked, worried about what
her intentions were for his kitchen as he heard several forks hitting the
floor.
"I'm
going to make my own damn Mcdonald's, thats what." She cried, shuffling
through several cupboards for pots as Sonny's eyes widened and he fought the
urge to run in and save all of his precious materials.
"Have
fun" Sonny choked out in a squeeky voice as he turned around with as much
control as he could bear, walking upstairs to visit with Michael, Morgan, and
Rocky, the dog they kept hidden away from all civilization, or more presently
when Carly and her stilettos were home.
"Carly?"
A voice yelled, pushing open the penthouse door as Carly quickly lost interest
in what she was doing and peeked her head around the corner into the living
room to see Leanna. "CARLY!" She shrieked, stepping closer into view
as Carly jumped from the outburst and nearly ran into the room.
"I'm
here, I'm here, calm down. Whats the problem?" She asked, taking a deep
breath to calm herself down as Leanna crossed over to the couch and sat down,
wringing her hands together impatiently. "Oh, Time to talk isn't it?"
Carly said, answering her own question as Leanna looked up at her with a blank
_expression.
"Carly,
I can't sit and wait for him to die." Leanna started, causing Carly to be
surprised by her choice of words, already knowing what she meant by that.
"How do you do it? How do you stay at home and accept the fact that he may
or may not make it back to you?" She finished, watching as Carly too
crossed over and joined her friend on thecouch, resting her hands in her lap.
"Lans,
despite the strong front I put up, yes I am afraid of what could happen, and
despite of all of the worrying and insecurities, I love Sonny, and I know that
at the end of the day he will do everything he can to come back to me and the
boys." Carly began, her voice understanding, worn, and gentle.
"Courtney goes through the same thing with Jason, Leah does in some way
with Lucky too I guess, but you know what, whether it's me losing a cousin,
Leah losing a best friend, or Courtney losing a brother, we are all at risk of
losing someone we love. Life is not guaranteed, it doesn't matter where you
live or what your job is. Lord knows I'm not trying to praise the mob or anything,
but you need to decide for yourself and for Alex, whether you are willing to
wait for Samuel at the end of the day or not."
Leanna
stared silently into space, her thoughts and Carly's words battling inside her
head while she shook her head gently. "I love him, after every stupid
fight, arguement, and decision that we have had to go through, I still love
him. He's the reason why I wake up in the morning, the reason for everything I
do, and the reason why I know that I'll be safe when I fall asleep at night. I
just don't want to lose him Carly, I can't lose him now." She said, her
voice breaking as she said her last word, closing her eyes as tears slipped
down her cheeks.
"Leanna,
you need to tell Samuel how you feel, let him know that your scared, but don't
walk out on him because you don't want to watch him die, because staying with
him and letting him know that you love him everyday that you two are together
is better then letting him die thinking you hated him for the decision he made
for himself." Carly said honestly, leaning forward as Leanna took in a
shaky breath and nodded, knowing that sooner or later she would have to talk to
Samuel, without contact of course.
"I
know.. Thanks Carly" Leanna said softly, barely above a whisper, scooting
closer to the edge of the couch as Carly smiled.
"See,
I do know a few things, I know how to handle these situations with the
men." She said, winking at her friend who rolled her eyes and stood up.
"Yes,
you are the experianced one Carly." she admitted playfully as Carly
laughed while gasping.
"That
is so mean!" She accused, gently throwing a pillow in Leanna's direction
as she giggled and ran towards the door, wiping the last of her tears from her
eyes before waving goodbye and exiting, leaving Carly to sigh and collapse
against the couch. "That girl is a walking basket case" Carly said to
herself aloud, pressing her hand up against her forehead in exhaustion.

After
Courtney and Jason had gotten home niether wanted to be apart for fear of being
seperated again, now nearly two hours later they were wrapped up together on
the couch, Courtney lying on top of Jason in between his legs with a throw
blanket of them. Courtney had fallen asleep, her head resting on his chest as
she heard his heart beating, while Jason lye awake, simply content with hearing
the sound of her breathing.
Courtney
slowly woke up, lifting her head up while blinking her eyes several times to
adjust her vision as Jason knelt his head back to look at her. "Hey,
something wrong?" he asked, seeing the strange look that rested in her
eyes as she bit her bottom lip.
"Jase,
there's so much sadness here right now, I don't really think it's somewhere we
should get married I mean , I don't want to move because most of our family is
here, but I want our wedding to be happy and not something that people have to
act through and pretend to be happy about you know?" She rambled on,
quickly explaining her thoughts as Jason fought to catch up.
"Yeah
I do, I think a wedding here would mostly be about the decorations and how
fancy it is instead of us just getting married. I want our wedding to be
special for you, and you too little Leah." Jason answered, reaching
underneath the blanket to caress Courtney's small belly as she grinned at him.
"Did you have any new places in mind?"
"Well
I always thought about beautiful wedding locations for some reason when I was a
little girl because I thought thats what every girl my age thought about at the
time, and I really like France, Italy, or Spain." Courtney said hurriedly
with an innocent look on her face, causing Jason to chuckle in response.
"Which
one do you like the most?" He asked, hoping to get a solid answer from her
as she tilted her head, causing several strands of hair to fall into her face.
"France"
She said firmly, pressing her lips together while Jason shifted his position
and sat upright.
"Then
France it is. I think we're going to have to get new bridesmaid dresses
though" He said as Courtney suddenly looked worried and concerned.
"why?"
she asked, furrowing her brows in confusion while Jason started to explain.
"Because
I don't think Electric blue dresses are good for the French countryside."
He told her as her eyes widened.
"You
bought Electric blue dresses?" She asked in horror, eyes nearly popping
out of her head as her mouth hung open.
"I
forgot to pay attention and Leah went crazy." He said soothing, acting as
if it were some normal everyday occurance.
"Oh,
I feel so much better." she said, smacking him playfully on the arm while
rolling her eyes.
"You
just find some new dresses you like, I'll go tell Leah." He offered,
kissing her softly while waiting until she nodded before getting up to inform
his best friend of the new plans.

Leah
lay down on her back in the center of the nursery, her eyes staring up at the
ceiling , brown hair spread out around her, one hand resting comfortably on her
medium size stomach, running back and forth gently.
"Ooh
babies, Mommy doesn't know what to do." She said aloud, looking down at
her belly as she felt the girls kicking. "I Want your daddy here too, but
I can't change what he did..."
"I
promise you guys will never have to worry about not having someone to be there
for you ok? You've got me, and us Corinthos-Spencers have to stick
together" She spoke, almost laughing at herself and how silly she must
have looked then, but only hoping that everything would work out in the end.
"Mommy
loves you so much Carly and Mikayla, and if the doctor was wrong for some
reason and you two end up turning into boys, we can just change your names to
Carwin and Michael... Michael the fourth I think is free.. oh well, I love you
too no matter what you turn out to be." She whispered fondly, patting her
belly when the Nursery door creaked open and Jason walked through.
"Hi
Phsyco, talking to yourself now?" Jason asked in a kidding tone as she sat
up and glared at him. '
"Sensitive
Jase, real sensitive." She muttered getting to her feet while Jason held
his hands up in surrender.
"Ok
I'm sorry, I just wanted to come by to ask you if you had any plans this
weekend?" He asked as she looked at him as if he were crazy.
"To
do what?" She remarked incredulously causing him to laugh softly.
"Yes
or no?" he asked, urging her with his gaze to answer as she watched him
with interest.
"No,
no plans." She answered, shaking her head softly while Jason nodded.
"Ok,
well pack your bags, we're going to France." He said swiftly, nearly
causing her to lose it from impatience. "Courtney and I are going to get
married." He finished as she smiled with a hint of surprise.
"Oh,
no big Carly wedding here?" She asked in amusement as Jason returned the
smile and simply shrugged.
"Call
your husband, we're going to leave as soon as I get tickets out of here,
probably sometime tomorrow." Jason urged her, giving her the 'I know your
stubborn but just do this because you love me" look.
"Ok,
yeah." She said, not thrilled about having to talk to her recently
somewhat estranged husband.
"Alright,
tomorrow then! Bonjur'!" Jason yelled, running out the doors as Leah
giggled and licked her lips, walking to the living room to grab the phone.
She
barely noticed dialing the number to Lucky at work, holding the reciever up to
her ear.
"Hello?"
Lucky asked, picking the line up from his desk.
