Title: You're The One, I Know It!

Author: Teresa

Feedback: otowncrazy05@yahoo.com

Rating: PG (if it changes, I will let you know)

Category:WIP

Type:Romance

Summary: What happens when you meet the one person you're meant to be with, but there's something keeping you apart; mainly yourself.

Note: In this story, Courtney and Sonny arent related, Courtney and AJ were never married(thank goodness), and Courtney and Emily are best friends. Also, there is some Robin stuff in here but don't worry it's Journey all the way. I know that probably all of the details with Robin aren't factual, but it gives the story a pretty cool twist!

Chapter 1:

"Thanks," Jason said as he was handed his coffee. It had been really wierd coming to Kelly's since he broke up with Liz, but he could only go so long without decent coffee.

He sighed as he lookedd around the room. "The same people are here everyday," he thought. Then he noticed a beautiful blonde woman he had never seen there before. She was sitting at the counter talking to Bobbie.

Bobbie: "Actually. I was just about to post an add for a waitress, I think you would be perfect for the job."

Courtney: "Great! When can I start?

Bobbie: "Well I could use someone right away. How about you start tomorrow morning?"

Courtney: "That's fine. I'll see you tomorrow."

Courtney stood up to leave. As she turned to walk out, she saw this really cute guy reading the paper

Jason felt someone watching him. He looked up and saw her looking at him. As soon as he looked up, she looked away and walked out the door.

'Damn. Why didn't I say something?' he thought. Once again, he sighed, paid for his coffee and headed off to work.

Chapter 2:

Courtney walked into Kelly's the next day, not knowing what to expect. Secretly, she hoped that cute guy she saw yesterday would be there.

'Man thhis is hard work.' Courtney thought as she cleared off a table. She then went into the kitchen to place an order.

When she came back out, he was sitting at a table with a little kid. As soon as she saw hi, her face brightened up

Jason came into Kelly's with Michael. He needed a reason to go there and Michael said he was hungry, so Jason offered to take him for food. But Jason knew why he was there and it wasn't for food. He was really hoping to see that beautiful blonde woman again. There was something about her. He didn't know what it was but he wanted to find out.

When he saw her come out from the kitchen, he smiled. 'She is so gorgeous.' he thought. He smiled when she made her way to their table.

Courtney: " Hi! What can I get you today?"

She smiled at the little boy sitting there

Michael: "Can I have a hamburgerr, Uncle Jason?"

'So his name's Jason,' she said to herself.

Jason: "Sure, Michael."

Courtney: "Ok. Can I get you anything else?"

Jason: "How about a cup of coffee?"

Courtney: "Sure. One hamburger and one cup of coffee coming right up."

She walked away to put their order in and was all smiles.

"Don't get your hopes up," someone said as Courtney went to get Jason's coffee.

Courtney: "What are you talking about, Liz"

Liz: "Jason. You got a thing for him, don't you?"

Courtney: "What? Am I not allowed to be polite while taking an order?" she said trying to play it off.

Liz: "Whatever. I'm just warning you. Jason is nothing but a cold and heartless person, and he'll just break your heart like he did mine.

Courtney: "Am I sensing some jealously?"

Liz: "No. I just tell it like it is," she said defensively.

Courtney: "Yea. Sure. Whatever you say. Listen, my shift is over, so I'm gonna head out. I'll see ya tomorrow.

Later that day, Courtney was taking a walk in the park, when she saw Emily sitting on a bench. "Emily," she shouted running to give her a huge hug. "Courtney! Hi," Emily said as she gave her best friend a hug in return.

Courtney: "How are you?"

Emily: "I'm great. What are you doing here? I thought you were moving back to Atlantic City?"

Courtney: "I was, but I decided to start fresh in a new place. So I decided to get off at whatever shop I felt like and I ended up here!"

Emily: "That is so cool! I wish I could be that spontaneous."

Courtney: " How about you? How did you end up in Port Charles?"

Emily: "You remember how I told you I grew up in a small town in NY? Well this is it!"

Courtney: "Oh. It's so great that I can see you again!"

Emily: "It's great to see you too! I have a great idea! How about you come over for dinner tonight. You can meet my family. You and my brother have a lot in common."

Courtney: "There you go again, tryin to fix me up. I don't need you to, ya know."

Emily:"Are you telling me that there's a guy?"

Courtney: "Well..."

Emily: "Come on! You gotta tell me!!"

Courtney: "There's someone I'm interested in, but it's just a crush, nothin more"

Emily: "Are you sure?..."

Courtney: "Positive. So, anyway, dinner tonight sounds great. What time should I come?"

Emily: "Is 7 good"

Courtney: That sounds great. Well I better get goin. I'll see you tonight.

Courtney headed home to get ready for dinner, not knowing that she was about to have an interesting night.

Chapter 3

*ring*ring*

Jason: "Hello"

Emily: "Hey Jase, it's me."

Jason: "Oh, hey Em. What's up?"

Emily: "I was wondering if you wanted to come over for dinner tonight?"

Jason: "Is everyone gonna be there?"

Emily: "yea"

Jason: "No thanks. I'll pass"

Emily: "Aww! Come on, Jase!! I really want you to come!"

Jason: "Why?"

Emily: "My best friend, Courtney, is in town and I really want you to meet her. I think you'll like her."

Jason: "I really don't need you fixing me up right now. I mean Liz and I haven't been apart for that long."

Emily: "That's not what I'm trying to do," she lied. "She just moved to Port Charles and I thought that it would be nice if she met at least one sane person here tonight, other that grandmother!"

Jason: "Well when you put it that way; I guess I'll come."

Emily: "Great. See you at 7, bye"

Jason stared at the phone wondering what he got himself into.
