Chapter 4

Jason sighed as he rang the doorbell to the Quartermaine's house.

'This is going to be one crazy night' he thought.

Emily opened the door and startled him.

Emily: Hey. Umm... Are you ok?

Jason: Yea. I'm fine. Why?

Emily: I don't know. You just seemed lost in your thoughts or something.
She said giving hime a wierd look.

Jason: Nope I'm great. So whats for dinner. I'm starved.
He said trying to play it off.

Emily: I don't know, but we have to wait for Courtney. She should be her any minute.

Jason and Emily walked into the living room, where the rest of the family was. "Jason! I'm so glad you could come!" Lila said as she gave her grandson a hug.

Jason: It's good to see you too, Lila.

AJ: Well, well, well, if it isn't the perfect one. How nice of you to grace us with your presence.

Jason: Let's not talk about this AJ.

AJ: Talk about what? How about Monica and Alan loved you more than me: their OWN child? Or better yet, how you kept my own son away form me? Come on Jasee. Lets talk.

Emily: AJ! Please just stop! What happened between you and Jason is in the past; leave it there.

Jason: I need some air.

He walked onto the patio. Just then, the doorbell rang.

Emily: Thats probablyy Courtney. Everyone, please don't ruin this evening for me.

Emily went out into the foyer to me Courtney.

Courtney took a deep breath as she rang the doorbell.
'I don't know why I'm so nervous' she thought 'It's just dinner'
Emily opened the door and smiled when she saw Courtney.

Emily: Hey

Courtney: Hi! Sorry I'm late.

Emily: It's ok. Come on in!

Courtney: This house is amazing!

Emily: I'll show you around later. Come on! I want you to meet everyone.

They walked into the room.

Emily: Everyone, this is my best friend, Courtney.

Courtney: Hello. It is nice to meet you all.

Emily: Courtney, this is my grandmother, Lila, my grandfather, Edward, my dad, Alan, my mom, Monica, my sister, Skye, my one brother, AJ, and my cousin, Ned.

Just as Emily was finishing her introductions, Jason walked in from outside.

Emily: And this is my other brother, Jason.

Chapter 5

Courtney sood there in shock. She couldn't believe that the diner guy was Em's brother.

Courtney: Hi! It's nice to meet you.

It took Jason a while to respond. He was in completee disbelief.

Jason: Hey! It's nice to meet you too! Welcome to PC.

He started to turn red. 'I think I sounded too excited to see her' he thought.

'Was it me, or did he sound really happy to see me?' Courtney wondered

Just then Reginald came in and announced that dinner was ready. They all headed and sat down. Thanks to Emily, Jason and Courtney wound up sitting next to each other. Even though both Jason and Courtney didn't want to be fixed up, Emily was determined to make sparks fly.

AJ noticed the awkwardness between Jason and Courtney. He decided to have some fun and make Jason squirm a little.

AJ: Do you two know eachother or something?

Jason and Courtney both turned red.

Jason: Why would you think that we know eachother?

AJ: Just curious. Well do you?

Courtney: Not exactly

AJ: What do you mean?

Jason: Not that it's any of your business or anything, but I took Michael to Kelly's for lunch and Courtney was our waitress.

Emily tried to stifle a laugh but it came out kind of like a snort. Everyone turned and stared at her.

Emily: I'm sorry. It's just, I can't really picture you being a waitress, Court.

Courtney: Well, I have to admit, it's not something I've done before, but I've enjoyed it so far.

She gave Jason a smile.

After dinner, Courtney said that she must go.

Emily: Are you sure you don't want to say for some coffee?

Courtney: I wish I could, but I have the early shift at Kelly's tomorrow.

Jason stood up

Jason: I should be leaving too.

Emily: Great! Then you can take Court home.

Courtney: That's not necessary. I'm not that far from Kelly's.

Jason: I really don't mind.

He said eagerly.

Courtney: ARe you sure? (she blushed) I mean, You don't have to go out of your way for me.

Jason: Kelly's is on my way home. We can take the senic route and I can show you the town.

Courtney: (smiles) Well, how can I say no to an offer like that?

Jason: I don't think you could! ( he smirks)

Courtney: OK then, lets go. (turning to Emily) Thanks for dinner. I had a great time

Emily: You're welcome.

Courtney: stop by kelly's tomorrow ans we can have lunch.

Emily: Ok. see ya.

Jason gave Em a quick hug and he and Courtney left.
