There was joy throughout the room as Jason Morgan and Courtney Mathews celebrated with their new friends over Courtney’s pregnancy. No harsh words were spoken only news of hope and love for the new family that was to come.

“So Courtney you never showed me the ring,” Carly giggled as she ran to her sister in laws side to gaze upon the beautiful diamond that was given to her by her fiancee.

“Carly is that all you care about? How classy the diamond is that Jason bought for Courtney?” Sonny stated with a bit of laughter and frustration in his voice.

“Well of course no honey...It’s just that I want to see how good of a job Jason did without me at his side ordering him on what he should do, and I must say you did an amazing job sweetie.” She quaintly looked at Jason with a smirk on her face as if there was some secret message hidden from their better halves.

Everyone turned around when they heard a silent knock on the door. Slowly Monica popped her head in the room to check up on how Courtney was doing.

“So is everything ok? How are mother and babies today?” Monica could not help but want to be a part of these babies lives. She could not help but want to be the grandmother that she was never allowed to be with Michael. She was finally going to get her chance....but there was no way to make up for the lost years.

Jason gently brought his hand up to Courtney’s stomach and rubbed it softly. A smile spread across his face as Courtney brought her hand to his. “We are doing just perfect. So when do you think that I will be able to get out of here?”

“Well you can get out of here as soon as the papers at the front desk are signed.” She said sweetly.

“That sounds wonderful doesn’t it sweetie,” Courtney said looking up at Jason with excitement in her eyes.

“Yes it does” he replied. “Hey Mom would you stick around for a minute? We would all like to talk to you about something very important.”

“Well of course honey. What is so important? You’re not thinking about moving away,” she said with fear laced in every word.

“No it’s nothing like that” Jason reassured her. It’s just that Courtney and I have been talking and we would very much love it if you would be a part of our children’s lives. I know that there have been some things between us in the past, and I can promise you that I will never be your perfect Quartermaine son again, but that doesn’t mean that I want you completely out of my life.”

“Oh and don’t forget about Michael coming over to,” Carly blurted out not allowing Monica to forget.

Tears filled Monica’s eyes as she looked at her son and realized he was the missing piece to the puzzle. He was what here family had been missing. Not just him but Courtney, Sonny, Carly, Michael, the whole package. Jason moved closer to her and pulled her into a tight sentimental embrace before she quickly pulled back.

“Sonny, I know that we have not always gotten along that well. I would really much enjoy it if all of you would come and eat dinner at our house tomorrow night. We could get reacquainted and stop out petty arguments. The only guests will be all of you, Myself and Allen, Lila, (Edward is optional) I leave that up to you and Lila, Jason. The whole family will be there.” She exclaimed excitedly.

“Well not everyone” Jason said with a tone of sadness in his voice.

“I am not inviting AJ or Skye sweetie. I’m sorry but they will do nothing more but corrupt our family and ruin any chance we have to have a civilized evening.” Monica hated the thought of having to upset her son but there was no way she would let her conniving children ruin any chance she had of seeing her grandchildren.

“I don’t want them there,” he exclaimed. “I was talking about Emily, I really wish I could see her again. I miss her so much. I want her to be a part of my life as well as all of you.”

“Well...Emily was suppose to be coming back in a week but I think I might be able to pull a few strings and get her back here in time for the dinner.”

“You would do that for me? I mean I can fly her back...I have the money you know that I just can’t believe you would have her come back early on my behalf.”

“Of course we would Jason. Emily misses you as much as you have missed her and she was just asking me about you the other day when we were discussing her plans to return. She will be more than thrilled to see her older brother again.”

“Well than that settles is,” Sonny said clasping his hands together. We will all have dinner tomorrow night at the Quartermaines, but for now Jason you need to take Courtney home and get her some rest. After all she is sleeping and eating for four now.”

“Is this how you are going to be the entire time that I am pregnant? Ordering Jason around telling him how to take care of me?” She said with an innocent grin on her face taking her brother in.

“Well yeah I guess so,” he smirked as he looked at the happy couple before him. “I will try not to be too bossy.”

“I am going to go get the papers from the front desk. Everyone needs to clear out of here so Courtney can get changed and go home. That means you too Jason,” She said ushering them all out the door.

“Oh mom, why can’t I stay???? It’s not like I haven’t seen her like this before.”

“Whoa...brother in the room here. I don’t need to hear that kind of talk coming from my best friend about my sister.” Sonny just smiled at Jason to assure him he was only kidding but her would have many more jokes to come for the young man.

“Jason Morgan...speaking in front of your mother like that...Out of the room.” Monica led everyone out of the room and to the front desk were Jason signed a few papers and awaited for Courtney’s as well.

After a few minutes Courtney walked to the front desk to meet her family. She could not help but feel overwhelmed but the events of the past 24 hours. It seemed as if the world started spinning faster and finally decided to slow down a bit so she could catch up.

“Jason honey, I’m ready to go home are you?” The smile on her face told him she had something special on her mind.

“Definitely, I am just going to speak with my mom for a moment and I will meet all of you at the elevator.”

“Ok, well I will go ahead and have Marco pull the car around and we can all ride back together.” Sonny was shocked by the look he saw on his sisters face.

Courtney remembered she completely forgot to tell Sonny about the loft. “Well...Sonny, Jason and I will not be going back to Harbor View Towers. We will be going to our place.”

“What? You two have a place of your own? How come I never knew about this Jason?....Oh wait. That must be the place that you met when you didn’t want me to know where the two of you were? And that must be the place that you two spend your romantic evenings together. Say no more...I will have another car here to bring you to your place.” Sonny saw the shocked look on his sisters face as he finally put all of the pieces of the puzzle together. He finally had the answers to all of the questions that he had been wondering for so long.

“It seems like you have figured everything out for yourself so why don’t you and Carly just go down and I will wait for Jason. I will be fine don’t worry, It’s not like no woman has ever been pregnant with triplets before big brother. And personally I believe I am just the person to handle the job.”

“You seem extremely determined so I guess I will leave you here.” He wrapped his arms around her and gave her a soft hug before turning back to Jason. “You make sure to take care of my little sis man because if not....I know where you live.” With those few words Sonny and Carly proceeded to the elevator and waved one final goodbye before the doors closed.

“Jason, I know that you need to talk to your mom and there is something that I would like to do. So would you please just meet me at the nursery?”

“Ok, no problem....are you sure you will be ok?” Jason could see no fear in her eyes but only love. A love so strong for him, and it was like nothing he had ever felt before. He could not believe just how incredibly lucky he had become.

Jason pulled Courtney close to him am placed a sugary sweet kiss on her lips. When they pulled apart Monica pointed out the way to the nursery and walked Jason to her office so they were able to talk privately.

Nursery:

Courtney slowly slid her hand over the soft railing of the window looking into the hospital nursery. The room was filled with dozens of babies. Each one was wearing a small cap with pink or blue to specify boy or girl. Courtney looked adoringly and began to wonder what it would be like to have a little one of her own. Better yet what it would be like to have three little ones of her own. Looking up she noticed that one of the nurses from inside was staring at her with a motherly grin. She slowly motioned for Courtney to enter the room.

“Mama, would you like to hold your baby? Which one is yours?” The woman was surprised by the look on Courtney’s face.

“Yes, I would love to hold my baby but I can’t. Mine will not be born for some time now. I just wanted to look at the babies, I can’t wait to have three of my own.”

“Three babies? Your having triplets? Congratulations, that will be quite a job. Well if you would like...you could hold one of the babies in here. Babies respond to touch and they love the be held. Maybe one of these babies needs the kind of love that I can tell you have.”

“I would love to, but are you sure...I mean I don’t want to get you in trouble or anything. I don’t need my future mother in law mad at me the same day as my engagement.”

“So your the one Mr. Morgan has been waiting for all day. You are one lucky lady....I take it he is the father?”

“Yes.....and I could not be happier. I love him more then anything in this world.”

“I wish you much happiness for the future. I know Mrs. Quartermaine will not mind if you hold one of the babies. Which one would you like to hold?”

“Are there any that have been abandoned? Any children who don’t have some one to come here and hold them every day and love them?”

“Yes, there are. Quite a few actually, there seem to be more and more every day. Follow me and we will see what we can do ok sweetie.”

“Thank you.”

Monica’s office:

“Jason, what did you need? Do you have any questions or any concerns about Courtney’s condition?” She wanted to do her best to reassure her son that she would let nothing happen to his new fiancee.

“ Well....I feel kind of stupid asking you this because you are my mother. I was wondering....if Courtney could ummm....ummm....

Monica could see he was struggling with embracement so she finished his sentence for him.

“If Courtney could have sex???? Is that what you wanted to know?” Monica was trying not to show it but he was finding a bit of amusement out of seeing her son so embarrassed.

Jason looked down at the ground and ran his hand over his face before looking back to his mother.

“Yes, that is what I meant. I just don’t want to do anything wrong...I don’t want to hurt her.”

“You are allowed to right now but be gentle. When it comes closer to her due take you are just going to have to have a little self control so if I were you I would get to work on that right now because you don’t seem like you have that much.”

“Hey, where did you get that from? I have not done anything today.” Jason was trying to sound innocent but he knew that Monica had caught him.

“I saw those secret looks the two of you gave each other. Believe it or not I use to be like that to I understand what it’s like to be young and in love.”

“Ok, you caught me...I will get to work like you said. I’m sorry to leave so soon but I would really like to go check up on Courtney if that’s ok with you.”

“That’s fine...but sweetie I want you to remember one thing....She is not glass. She will not break that easily so try to treat her as normally as possible. You don’t want her to feel to overwhelmed.”

“Ok, mom I will remember. No I am going to go....I Love You and I will see you tomorrow morning at the trial?”

“Yes you will...No go,” She giggled as she watched him rushed out of her office.

Nursery:

Jason walked up to the nursery in search of Courtney. He suddenly became warm and his eyes filled with tears as he saw Courtney holding a baby boy that was not more then one month old gently rocking him in and old Victorian style rocking chair. Her love was radiating throughout the room as she held the young child close. For a moment he closed his eyes and tried to imagine what it would be like when they had three children of their very own. When he opened his eyes he noticed that Courtney had looked up and she was staring at him but did not move. She sweetly motioned for him to come in and join her and he eagerly did.

“Hey honey, what are you doing? Who is this little man you are holding?” He gently ran one of his fingers across the babies warm cheek and saw him squirm for a moment before becoming content once more.

“I was standing out side looking at all of the babies and the nurse asked me if I would like to hold one. This here is Jacob. His mother was a single teenage girl with no family. She came in here to give birth but it was just to much for her and she passed away. There is no one to hold him and talk to him. No one to love him and be there for him. So I thought that I would just see if I could give some of my love to him.”

Jason looked at her with tears in his eyes. He had never known some one so caring and so giving of themselves before he met her. Here she was sitting in a hospital nursery trying to share some of the love that she had with the children who did not receive it every day for one reason or another.

“I think that is a wonderful idea. Do you think that I could hold one?” He looked around for the nurse but she was no where in sight.

“Of course you can. I talked to the nurse a minute ago and she said she new you would come in so she told me you had permission.”

A smile spread across Jason’s face as he spotted a little girl about the same age as Jacob with the name Anna. He walked over to her and carefully picked her up in his arms. “She’s just so beautiful...how could some one leave something so precious behind and never look back?”

“I was wondering the same thing myself. I know what it is like to have to be without your family and be without someone there to love you. I just wish there was something I could do to help these children out.”

Jason’s mind began to wonder as an idea....A special surprise for Courtney popped into his head. He would not share it with Courtney just yet but he wondered what she would think.

A moment later the nurse walked back into the nursery adoring the couple that was standing before her. She could already see what wonderful parents they would make.

“Ok guys, I’m sorry to do this to you but it’s time to put the children to sleep. I hope you come back soon. I am sure the babies would love to be taken care of by you two.”

“Well, I guess it really is time that we go,” Courtney said glancing at Jason. He slowly walked back to Anna’s bed and gently laid her in it. Then he leaned down and gave her a sweet kiss before whispering “Goodbye angel.”

The couple said their goodbyes and walked out of the nursery hand in hand. “So Jason, what did you need to talk to Monica about?”

“I was just asking her a quick question about the surprise I had for you tonight. I had the proposal all planned out. The babies just add to the perfect evening...So just wait and prepare to be amazed,” he said pulling her body so close to his he could feel the heat on her skin. Carefully his lips found hers and he brought her into a passionate kiss full of unforeseen promises.
