CHAPTER 3

Jason and Courtney finally approached the docks. It felt as if they were walking all night. They didn’t say much during the walk, other than Jason asking her if she was cold and then handing her his jacket. She could smell the scent of his cologne and it gave her a sense on security that she had never felt before. She just breathed in heavy and took it all in.

“Do you want to sit down with me?” Jason started looking a little nervous.

“Sure” Courtney responded taking a seat on the bench. He moved closer to her so there legs were touching. She could feel the warmth of his body and it surged through her. She could feel it all the way up to her neck. There was a silence and a long stare. Neither of them wanted to speak afraid they might loose the moment.

They had to give in and get it over with. “What’s going on Jason? What did you need to talk to me about?” Courtney asked as if she already didn’t know. Jason was looking at her longing for her. He couldn’t help but notice the way the moonlight lit up her perfect face. He thought he could melt.

“I’ve never told anyone this Courtney and what I am about to say to you is all new to me, but I have to say it.” Jason started getting really nervous. He could feel the sweat start to pour and he rubbed his forehead anxiously. He continued stumbling to get the words out straight “But I have to tell you because if I don’t I will go insane. God Courtney your driving me insane.”

Courtney just stared at him with a blank look on her face. She could feel her heart in her throat. “Did I do something Jason? What did I do?” Courtney asked him on the verge of tears. She could feel them welling up in her eyes as she fought like hell to keep them back.

“No Courtney you didn’t do anything wrong. God don’t you see it?” He stood up getting frustrated at himself.

“See what Jason? Tell me what is going through your mind. We can’t talk about it unless I know what we are talking about. Please Jason look at me.” She pleaded with him. She just wanted to hear him say it. If he said it maybe it would be easier for her to follow.

“Never mind Courtney, I just can’t do this” he said starting to walk away.

“Jason Please!” Courtney began to cry, but pulled herself together “Jason please don’t walk away from me. I don’t want you to go. I don’t want you to ever go.” He kept walking slowly away “I’M IN LOVE WITH YOU JASON MORGAN”

Jason stopped dead in his tracks. He couldn’t bring himself to walk away. His heart started to pound harder and harder. He didn’t turn around yet as he was still in shock. “What?” He asked turning around . He had to hear her say it again. He had to be sure that that is what she had said.

“I said that I am starting to fall in love with you Jason. I am sorry if that causes you confusion, or hurt. I’m sorry if it complicates your life but, dammit Jason I can’t help it. I look into your eyes and I see my whole world. I don’t know what I would do if I ever…….” Before she could finish her statement his lips pressed to hers and his arms wrapped around her so tight. She threw her arms around his neck and pulled his head passionately closer to her own. She rubbed her hands all through his hair. After a few minutes of this they thought they would burst if they didn’t have each other, all of each other.

They stopped kissing and looked deeply into each others eyes.

“Are you sure this is what you want too Jason?”

He responded to her surprised she even had to ask. “Am I sure? Courtney! I have never been so sure of anything in my entire life. I am falling so hard for you. I feel like I am free falling and I can’t stop. You are so beautiful and so sweet. You have to understand that I have always had complete control of my life. But with you everything goes out the window. Do you think that if I wasn’t falling in love with you, I would be here with you right now doing this? You are Sonny’s sister. Courtney do you have any idea what I am putting on the line?”

Courtney just stood there taking all the information in. “I don’t want to come between you and my brother. You guys are best friends.”

“Don’t worry about Sonny. I want to be with you Courtney. I will find a way to explain everything to Sonny.” Jason told her a little unsure himself.

He took her hand and smiled. “I promise, everything is going to be ok. I am going to talk to Sonny and I will meet you at your apartment.”

Courtney asked him with disappointment in her eyes. “ You have to go now? You have to go tonight? Can’t you go in the morning, and I will go with you and we can explain it to him together.”

Jason looked up at her with a smile. He couldn‘t help but notice how brave and independent she was. She was unlike any girl he had been with before. “No Courtney, This is something I have to take care of right now. I have to. I owe your brother that much respect please understand.”

“I do understand, but I am coming with you Jason. I am not going to let you take the wrath for feelings that we both have.” Courtney finished.

“Well if I told you no would you still come?” Jason asked her laughing a bit.

“What do you think?” was her only response.

He was glad in a way and wasn’t going to argue with her. “Fine lets go. It’s now or never.” He took her hand “Lets go!” She stated back getting a little giddy.”

They headed back to Luke’s to get his motorcycle, and head to Sonny’s penthouse.
