Chapter 1

Carly and Courtney walked into penthouse 4. They had just dropped Michael and Rosie off ate Bobbie’s to spend the night.

“Do you want a soda, or something?” Carly asked Courtney as she threw her purse over the desk chair.

Courtney shook her head, “No thanks.”

As Carly walked into the kitchen, the phone rang. “Hey Courtney, could you get that” Carly yelled from the kitchen.

Courtney picked up the receiver. “Hello?” She answered sweetly.

“Hey Court.” It was Andie, “Is Sonny there?”

“Nope, Sorry.”

“Well, then can you have him call me as soon as he gets in. It doesn’t matter how late.”

“Why don’t you call his cell if it’s so urgent?”

“I tried, but his cell is off.”

“Oh god.” Courtney tried not to panic.

“Courtney, don’t worry, I’m sure he is just in an important meeting.”

“No, no, Sonny never turns off his cell phone. Something is wrong. Look, I’m going to call Jason.” Courtney hung up the phone, then quickly dialed Jason’s cell.

“Yea?” He answered.

“Oh, Jason, thank god. Are you okay, is Sonny with you?”

“Courtney, I’m fine, and Sonny is here with me. Are YOU alright?”

Courtney sighed, relieved. She decided not to ask why Sonny had his cell phone, off. She was sure he had a reason, now that she knew he was safe. “I’m fine. Just worried, Andie just called and…” Courtney drifted off, not wanting to get into details on the phone.

When Courtney mentioned Andie’s name, Jason looked up at her, she gave him an innocent wave and smiled. He nodded at her, his way off telling her good job. “Courtney, I might not be home till…well, late.”

“I understand.” Courtney sighed. She knew that this came in the package of being with Jason. Just then Carly walked into the room.

“Is that Jason? Let me talk to him” Before Courtney could protest, Carly had the receiver to her ear. “Jason, you weren’t going to leave this pretty girl all by herself tonight?” Jason just laughed, as Carly went on, pretending that Jason had answered her. It seemed to trick Courtney. “Well, we were going to the club anyways.”

“We were?” Courtney laughed.

“Carly, are you done yet?” Jason questioned. “Okay, I think we’re ready, so whenever you can get her here.”

“Alright, bye.” Carly hung up the phone, grabbed Courtney’s coat off of the chair and flung it at her.

She caught it neatly in one hand. “Why are we going to the club?”

“When you manage club, there is a bunch of crap to do.”

Courtney laughed at her remark as she followed her out the door.

Jason slowly put his phone away. He looked up at Sonny and Andie trying to get a banner to stay up above the bar. When they finally got it fixed, it read, ‘Happy Birthday Courtney’ He smiled knowing that she had forgotten her own birthday. That was something else that amazed him about her. How she always remembered Michaels, Sonny’s, Carly’s and his birthday, but she somehow always forgot hers.

There were pounding feet on the stairs behind him, as Michael came running into the club. “Is Aunt Courtney here yet Jason?”

“Not yet, buddy. She’ll be here soon though. I promise.” Jason smiled down at the redhead. Michael smiled up at Jason, and then ran over to help Sonny. Bobby took a quick look outside, and then ran into the club once more. “They are walking up to Kelly’s as we speak.”

Jason quickly took action, ushering Bobbie and Andie into the office, and Michael and Sonny behind the bar. He then hit the lights, and joined Michael and Sonny.

Carly walked down the stairs, Courtney following. When they reached the bottom, Carly turned in the lights revealing the multicolored balloons and banners.

Courtney smiled brightly, and looked at Carly. She returned her smile, and pointed at the bar.

Slowly Jason and Sonny walked out from behind it. Michael was sitting on Sonny’s shoulders. “Happy Birthday Aunt Courtney!”

Courtney laughed, completely taken aback. “Who…I…” She was speechless. Just as Jason predicted, she had forgotten today was her birthday.

Sonny put Michael on the ground. “Jason said you’d forget it was your birthday. Guess he does know more about you.” Sonny grinned.

“Jason, you did this?”

He smiled and nodded. “Yea.”

She ran up to him and threw her arms around his neck. He picked her up, and twirled her around.

“Okay, who’s up for a famous Sonny Corinthos meal?” Sonny rubbed his hands together. Courtney laughed still holding Jason. “Always.” Sonny walked out the back door motioning for Bobbie’s and Andie’s help.

Carly grabbed Michael’s hand leading him up the stairs. “We’ve got to get your present.” Carly smiled at her sister-in-law.

“Thank-you” Courtney whispered in Jason’s ear. Jason leaned down and kissed her. After they pulled away, she smiled at him. “I love you” He whispered.

“I love you, too.” They kissed again, but pulled apart when they heard Bobbie enter with a tray of food. Jason noticed a sudden change in Courtney. She stopped smiling, and looked upset. “Courtney, are you okay?” Jason looked into her eyes worried. They were shinning with unshed tears.

“My dad. I…I wish he was here.” Courtney looked away, pained by the loss of her father. “I’m sorry, I know I should be happy, but I…”

“No Courtney,” Jason cut her off. “You have nothing to be sorry about. Look, do you want to just go home?” He asked as he wiped away a fallen tear.

“No,” Courtney quickly composed herself. “That’s the last thing I want. I want to be with my family.” She smiled up at Jason, feeling his love through his gaze. Jason once again pulled her into an embrace, not wanting to let her go.

Courtney and Jason walked into the Penthouse. As soon as Jason shut the door, Courtney jumped into his arms, laughing. “Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you!” Courtney kissed Jason on the lips. “This is all I could want for my birthday” She smiled at him. “I know how much family means to you Courtney, and I just want you to be happy.”

“I know.” With that, Jason swept her into his arms, and carried her into the bedroom.

Chapter 2

Jason lay there as the sun was rising. The dim light that shown through the window made her face glow. He smiled, enjoying watching her sleep. Jason looked over Courtney’s head at the clock. 7:15. He forced himself to get out of bed, not wanting to leave Courtney’s side. He silently got dressed and walked downstairs. He grabbed his leather jacket, and walked over to meet Sonny.

Nearly two hours later, Courtney walked over to Carly and Sonny’s place. She smiled at Marco, as he let her into the apartment. Carly was on the couch, reading a magazine, and by the way it smelt in the house, Sonny was cooking.

When Carly saw Courtney, she put her magazine down, and stood up. “How are you?” She asked smiling. “I’m fine thanks, any reason you ask?” Courtney asked suspiciously. “I can’t ask how my sister-in-law is doing?” Carly smiled

“Knowing you, no, not without wanting something.”

“Okay, okay, I need your help with something.”

Courtney sighed, “What?”

“Well, I love managing my club, and I think I do fine at it on my own, but…Well, I could use some help.”

“Oh, no Carly.” Courtney protested even before Carly could ask her.

“Courtney, you would be great at it, and it would give you something to do. Look, I know that you aren’t going to say yes now… ”

“Or ever” Courtney raised her eyebrows.

“All I’m saying is think about it.” Courtney sighed, about ready to argue once more, but decided against it.

“Okay, I’ll think about. I’m not saying I will. But I’ll think about it.”

Carly nodded, satisfied. “Is Jason not home?”

Courtney shook her head no, “I heard him leave pretty early in the morning.”

“So are you and Andie getting along any better?” Carly questioned Courtney as she sat back down on the couch.

Courtney laughed, “I can stand her, if that’s what you mean.”

“Well, then maybe you’ll be sad to hear this, but she left town this morning. Sonny said that it will probably be for a very long time.”

“I wouldn’t say that I was sad about that.” Courtney laughed.

Sonny walked into the room, “Courtney, hey.”

“Hi Sonny. What’cha cooking?” Courtney smiled afraid of his answer.

“Nothing special, don’t worry, just an omelet.”

“I said no to one, I suggest you do the same.”

“You know I’m a good cook.” Sonny smiled at Courtney.

“I would choose one of your meals over one of Carly’s any day. No offense Carly.”

“None taken.”

Sonny smiled. He loved this, he loved that his sister was a part of his family. He knew that it was dangerous for her, especially now that she was with Jason, but he knew Jason could protect her. At least he hoped he could.

“Well, I need to go and meet my mother, so bye.” Carly kissed Sonny, and began to head out the door, but stopped. “Hey, Courtney, do you want to meet later at the club?”

“Sure.” Courtney smiled and waved goodbye.

“Well, I’m going to finish my breakfast, would you like to join me?” Sonny grinned at his sister.

“Only if I can buy you lunch later.”

“Not going to argue with that.” Sonny smiled and led Courtney into the kitchen.\

Courtney walked into Kelly’s at eight to meet Carly. She sighed when she saw Elizabeth behind the counter. Reluctantly she walked straight past her, preparing to go down to the club, but Elizabeth stopped her, “Could you tell Carly that Bobbie was looking for her?”

Courtney was shocked at the civility that Elizabeth showed. “Sure” Courtney smiled, and walked down to ‘the cellar’.

“Hi Courtney.” Carly smiled as she saw her sister-in-law trot down the stairs.

“Elizabeth mentioned Bobbie was looking for you.”

“Yea, she found me. Thanks.” Carly got up from her chair in front of the bar. “I am so sick of doing this paperwork. You know, I could use some help finishing…”

“Carly,” Courtney cut her off. “I said I’d think about it. Stop trying to pressure me.”

“Sorry” Carly threw her hands up in mock surrender. “But could you think a little faster?”

Courtney laughed and nodded, “I’ll try my best.” Just then, Carly’s cell phone rang.

“Hello?” She answered, “Oh, I completely forgot. No, no, wait just five more minutes, I’ll be right there.” Carly hung up the phone and began gathering her things.

“Carly what’s the matter?”

“I have to meet with someone about some of this paperwork. Thank god her share of it is done, but there’s a lot more I need done by tomorrow. Look I hate to ask, and this is not my way of pressuring you, but you know how to fill them out. If you could just do two or three tonight, I’ll come in early tomorrow and finish them?”

Reluctantly Courtney nodded her head, “Fine. But you owe me, big time”

“Thank you. Okay, I need to run.” Carly smiled and ran out of the club.

The paperwork took longer then Courtney expected, when she finally finished, it was nearly eleven. She had also done more then Carly asked for, but Courtney was happy to do her a favor. After she put the papers on Carly’s desk, she began to gather her things, preparing to leave, when she heard a gun shot. In a panic, Courtney dropped all of her things, and ran up the stairs and into Kelly’s.

Courtney’s eyes widened with terror at the sight before her. On the ground in a pool of blood, laid Andie.

Chapter 3

“Andie!” Courtney cried, confused. She ran to her, and knelt beside her body. “Oh god, Andie.” Courtney touched her face, needing to know that she was not dead. “Andie please, just be alright.” Not knowing what came over her, she broke down into tears. She was her step-sister, and even if they didn’t get along that well, she was family. Courtney rested her face in her hands, ignoring the blood that was now all over her as well, and sobbed.

“Oh my god!” A voice from behind her shrieked. Courtney turned around to see a young woman standing at the bottom of the stairs in her pajamas. “You killed her!” She looked in fear at Courtney, and then ran up the stairs.

She’s going to call the police! Courtney thought. She didn’t know what to do. If she stayed there, then the police would arrest her for murder, she was sure of it, but if she ran…Her thoughts were interrupted by the front door of the restaurant opening. Jason stood there in shock at the sight before him. Courtney kneeling beside her sister, covered in blood. “Jason…” Courtney didn’t know what else to say.

Quickly Jason grabbed Courtney’s arm and led her out of the restaurant. She didn’t need to explain anything; it was if he already knew. Courtney made no effort to stop Jason from trying to get her away; she just let him pull her to his motorcycle. As they drove away, the rain began to fall.

They ended up at a hotel near the Harbor view towers. Jason registered them under false names, and paid the man behind the counter to inform him if anyone asked questions.

Once inside the hotel room, he said nothing, just pulled Courtney into his arms as she sobbed into his shirt.

“What happened?” He asked when she pulled away.

Between sobs, Courtney tried to explain. “I was in the club, when I heard the gunshot; I dropped all of my things, and ran upstairs. I found Andie there. A woman saw me; I think she must have called the police. Jason I swear I didn’t do it.” She looked into his eyes, needing to know that he believed her.

“I never thought that you did.” He saw her relax, almost as if his faith in her made all the fear go away. “Look, I need to get you out of here. If the police have any evidence what so ever, and that includes the woman who saw you, then they will try and find you right away. Especially because you are Sonny’s sister.

Courtney nodded, knowing he was right, but not wanting to have to leave Port Charles. Jason began laying out the plan once more, “I’ll call Sonny, and have him meet us with some of your clothes. Then we’ll drive to Canada, get on a plane, and fly, wherever you want to go, just somewhere out of the country.”

Courtney looked at Jason with doubt in her eyes. “I can’t just ask you to pick up your life and…”

“Courtney, don’t. I would do anything for you, and there is no arguing this. I am taking you, alright?” Courtney numbly nodded.

“I’m going to go take a shower.”

“Are you going to be okay?”

“I don’t know.” She whispered, and then headed into the bathroom.

Courtney came out of the bathroom twenty minutes later, relieved to have the blood washed off. She left her wet hair down, not bothering to try and comb it.

Jason set on the bed his face resting on the backs of his hands. When he heard Courtney walk out of the bathroom, he stood up, still looking worriedly at her. She said nothing just slowly laid her head upon his chest and tried to let the fear go, tried to know that Jason would always protect her.

“You should try and get some rest, I called Sonny. He is meeting us in four hours. I’ll wake you up.” Courtney nodded, and slipped under the covers.

“Courtney?” Jason gently shook Courtney. He hated to make her wake up, she needed whatever sleep she could get, but he needed to get her out of Port Charles before the sun rose. It was 3:40, and they had to meet Sonny at the warehouse in ten minutes. As soon as he gave them their things, and a car, they would be gone.

As they walked out of the hotel, the rain fell harder and harder. Jason constantly looked at Courtney; he couldn’t tell if there was rain or tears on her face.

Sonny was waiting at the warehouse when they arrived. When they entered the building Courtney ran into Sonny’s arms, and hugged him tightly. Sonny pulled away, “Courtney, you need to get out of here.” He handed Jason a large shoulder bag and car keys. It hurt Sonny to see how upset Courtney was. Jason had explained the whole thing to him, but luckily, as far as he knew, the police had not identified who the woman had seen with Andie. “Jason, I want you to drive until the sun rises, as soon as it does, get her to a hotel. Do this every day until you get to Toronto Canada. I’ll have a jet there waiting for you. Tell the pilot where you want to go, and he will tell me where you went.” Jason nodded, relaying the information over in his head.

Jason turned to Courtney, “We should go.”

Courtney nodded, but she first walked back over to Sonny. She hugged him again. “I love you, Courtney” Sonny whispered in her ear.

“I love you, too.” Courtney tightly closed her eyes to hold back the tears.

Sonny pulled away, and then kissed her on the cheek. “This isn’t goodbye. I will fix this.” Sonny looked into his baby sisters’ eyes, he was tearing up inside.

He silently watched as Courtney and Jason got into the car and drove away from Port Charles.

Chapter 4

“Mrs. Corinthos is much too guarded, and the boy has a guard even at school. There is no way to get to either of them.” Frank looked up at his boss from his sitting place.

“Then who else can we get at?” Lex Roster looked at Frank, his number one enforcer.

“The only others close to Sonny are his sister and his enforcer. They disappeared six months ago. The girl shot her step-sister.”

“That’s what many think. That won’t matter though, not after we kill her.”

“Excuse me? How do you expect to kill a girl who nobody can find?”

“We find her. How hard can it be?”

“Easy for you to say.” Frank said under his breath.

“I want you to find them. Go for the girl first, but I don’t want you to just kill her. I want her to be tortured and killed, right before Morgan’s eyes.” Lex grinned at the thought.

“Morgan won’t just let her die.”

“You’ll have to find a way to make him.” Lex was happy knowing that he would be able to ruin both Corinthos and Morgan with one death. “Call me when you’ve got them. I want you there tonight.” Lex opened the door and motioned for Frank to leave.

Courtney ran into the house, Jason chasing her. He finally caught up with her, and grabbed her, causing them to both fall onto the couch. She let out a laugh as he tickled her.

“Okay, stop it.” She laughed. Jason smiled at her, admiring how she had held up for the past six months. They had been to four different places, and yet somehow, she managed to make him forget everything that must be going on in Port Charles. He pulled her face to his, and kissed her.

“What was that for?” Courtney smiled.

“No reason.” Jason returned her smile.

Courtney sighed, “I don’t know how much longer I can take this Jason.” She looked away from him. “I love being with you, but I miss Sonny, Carly, and Michael. Hell I even miss Elizabeth.”

Jason laughed, “Then you really must miss Port Charles.”

“I do.” She whispered looking back at him.

“I’m sorry; I don’t know what to do.” Jason felt helpless. “I can’t take you back there, not until Sonny gives us the okay.”

“I know, Jason. It’s hard, I know, but as long as you’re here with me, I’ll be fine.” She forced herself to smile.

“Courtney, Sonny will fix this. He just needs to find out who killed Andie.” He saw Courtney flinch. She had never liked talking about Andie, not after the night she was shot, and so far they never had. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to…”

“Please Jason, don’t.” Courtney looked at her hands folded across her lap. Outside, she could hear the crash of waves against the sand. By far, this was Courtney’s favorite place they had stayed. If she had to stay anywhere, other then Port Charles, she wanted it to be here. Deep down, she knew that would never happen. She knew that soon, Sonny would give them another call telling them to move on to somewhere else. It had been that way for so long now, and Courtney was slowly getting used to it.

Jason let out a sigh. “Sonny says Michael has been asking about us.”

Jason saw Courtney’s face light up with the news. “Really? What did Sonny say to him?”

“Just that we went away for a while, but were coming back. Carly says Michael things we went to go get married.” Courtney laughed, “He’s angry because he wanted to see it.” Jason smiled, knowing that he had just made Courtney’s day better.

“Thanks.” She smiled at Jason and kissed him.

“Mommy, when are Aunt Courtney and Jason coming back? I miss them.” Michael was sitting in bed while Carly finished reading him a story.

“Michael, I told you that they are going to come back as soon as they can.” It was so hard for Carly to have to say that to her little boy. She missed Courtney and Jason more then she could ever have imagined. It was her fault that Courtney was in this mess. If only she hadn’t asked Courtney to do the paperwork for her, then they would still be in Port Charles.

It was all Carly could do to keep her tears back. “Okay honey, it’s time for bed.” She tucked Michael under his covers and kissed him on the cheek. Before she turned off the light Michael said, “As soon as Jason and Aunt Courtney come home, I want THEM to read me a bedtime story.” Carly smiled and nodded.

As soon as she was downstairs, she fell down on the couch and began to cry.

Sonny walked into the Penthouse two hours later to find Carly asleep on the couch. He could tell that she had been crying. He carefully picked her up, and carried her to their bedroom. He knew what Carly was upset about. It was the same thing that he had been so upset about for the past six months. He had tried everything in his power to find out who had killed his step-sister, and get the charges against Courtney dropped, so that she could come home. Everything had failed. There were no leads whatsoever, nothing that could prove Courtney was innocent, just her word. Since she was his sister, her word meant nothing to Scott Baldwin.

He needed to talk to Courtney again, ask her again every detail of that night. Sonny had grilled her already, but there had to be something. He needed to see her, face to face. He looked down at his sleeping wife, and gently shook her awake.

“Sonny?” Carly looked groggily up at him.

“I’m leaving. I need to see Jason and Courtney, and don’t even try to come with me, Michael needs you. Just try and hide where I went from the police, I have a feeling they might ask questions.”

Carly nodded, trying to take in all of the information. Before Sonny left the room, Carly stopped him, “tell them I miss em’” Carly lay back down, and tried to fall asleep. She listened as Sonny walked down the stairs and out of the Penthouse.

It was late, and the night air was warm and refreshing. Jason walked out onto the balcony to find Courtney there looking out into the water. He came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist.

She smiled “It’s so beautiful.”

“It’s even prettier from where I am standing” Jason said, resting his head against hers.

Courtney closed her eyes. She felt the wind brush against her face. She turned around to face Jason. He lightly kissed her on the lips. The moment was interrupted by a sharp knock on the door.

There was no one else on this island, unless…Baldwin? Could he have figured out where they were? Jason quietly took Courtney into the bedroom; they grabbed their still packed bags, incase of an emergency like this, and snuck out the back door.

When they were at the side of the house, Jason peeked around the corner to see who was at the door. Nobody was there, but he could see that the door had been kicked in.

Meanwhile

Sonny sat on the plane, anxiously waiting for it to land on the island.

Chapter 5

There was a voice from inside the beach house, “Morgan!” They wanted Jason. He slowly looked around the corner, being careful not to be seen. Frank Jerric was inside, gun in hand, smashing crystal, and breaking down doors. Jason turned around to face Courtney.

“Follow me,” He whispered. Courtney nodded, but still looked worried as Jason led her away from the house. For the first time, in a long time, Jason had no idea what to do. None of his planes were on the island, and it would take at least an hour for him to get one there. Still, Jason led Courtney to the airstrip, hoping to get a hold of Frank’s plane.

They quietly walked to the airstrip. It was at least a ten minute walk, but maybe that would be enough to get Courtney away from Frank.

Jason decided that incase there were any other men on the island, they had better stay hidden, so instead of following the beach, he led Courtney into a grove. Short cut, or not, they were much safer when they were hidden. When they came to a clearing, Jason turned to Courtney, “I’m going to go check it out. Stay here, but if you hear anything, come running. Okay?”

“Okay. Be careful.” Jason nodded, pulled out his gun, and continued walking. He was able to make it to the airstrip never seeing anyone. He noticed that Frank’s jet was still there. Knowing this, he turned around, ready to bring Courtney up there. Just as he did so, there was a scream.

“Jason!” Courtney cried. It was obvious that she was struggling with someone.

“Courtney!” Jason jumped into action, and sprinted towards the grove.

There was a knock on the door. Carly looked up from the refrigerator, frustrated. She groaned as she opened the door.

“Hello Mrs. Corinthos.” Carly rolled her eyes at Baldwin.

“Would you like something Scott?” Carly leaned against the door, placing one hand on her hip, blocking his way.

“Actually I was here to see your husband. Is he around?”

“No.” Carly flatly stated.

“Well, could you inform your husband that I need to speak with him immediately?”

“Would you like anything else…coffee, doughnut? That’s what you live off right? It would explain the gut.” Carly smiled sweetly.

“Oh, forget it. I suppose I will stop by later. I expect that he’ll be here. He wouldn’t have left town to see anyone, would he?” Scott said, knowing the answer.

“Oh, I’m sorry; I missed when you started stalking my husband. You really are desperate aren’t you Scott? Shouldn’t you be spending your time trying to find who really killed Andie, instead of wasting your time following my husband? I must admit, I understand why you do. He is handsome.” Carly smirked at Scott, and shut the door on his face.

Jason ran into the patch of trees. He could no longer hear, or see Courtney, but he kept running. He needed to find her. He had spent so long protecting her; he couldn’t let anything happen to her now. He kept running, not sure of where to go. He would randomly make a turn, hoping that he was going the right way. He couldn’t seem to find his way out of the grove. He finally spotted an opening in the tress, as he was about to reach it, he felt something heavy against his skull, then he blacked out.

Chapter 6

Courtney hadn’t even heard the men come up behind her, but before she could do anything to stop it, they had grabbed her, and were forcing her to walk with them. She struggled at first, yelling Jason’s name, trying to pry them off, but they were much stronger then her. They brought her back to the beach house, and threw her onto a chair. Before they could tie her down, she was on her feet. She kneed the biggest guy in the crotch, and began to move on to the next, but the two men remaining overpowered her, and held her down in the chair as they tied her to it.

She sat there, struggling with the rope, glaring at the guy in front of her on a cell phone. “Mr. Roster? It’s Frank. Look, we got the girl. Yea, Clark is working on that. We’ll get him.” Frank looked frustrated. He rubbed his hand over his forehead, and hung up the phone.

“Torrance, O’Riely, go find Clark, and tell him to get here faster.” Frank barked. The two men grabbed their guns, and rushed out the door.

“So, what do you want…Frank?” Courtney raised her eyebrows at the man that was towering over her. Inside, she was extremely scared, but she knew that she couldn’t show it.

Frank chuckled, and knelt down so that he was face to face with Courtney. “Miss Mathews, you should know what we want.”

Courtney rolled her eyes, “to get to my brother.” She said flatly.

“You’re only half right. You see, not only are you Corinthos’ little sister, you are also Morgan’s girl. Therefore, with you, we can kill two birds with one stone.” Frank smiled. He grabbed Courtney’s chin in his fat hand, he brought her face to his, and kissed her. Courtney jerked her head back to get away from him.

Courtney only glared at Frank. He just laughed, and walked to the other side of the room, positioning himself on a chair.

Courtney kept her eyes on Frank as she fiddled with her ropes. She could feel them slowly loosening.

Jason woke up, “Courtney.” He moaned. His mind was racing, where was she, was she okay, what happened to her?

“Look whose up.” He heard a voice. He looked up to see Johnny Clark hovering over him. Clark…He was one of Lex Roster’s men. He worked with Frank, too.

“Where the hell is Courtney?” Jason tried to stand up, but found that he was tied to a chair.

“Your girlfriend is fine, for now that is.” Johnny smirked at Jason, enjoying making him panic.

“I am warning you now that if anything, and I mean anything, happens to Courtney, you will pay.” Jason glared up at Johnny.

Even tied to a chair, Johnny was afraid of Jason, but he wasn’t about to let him know that. “If I were in your position, Morgan, I would not be the one making threats.” Jason jerked his chair towards Johnny, causing him to jump back in alarm. Jason’s eyes were cold, and hateful. It scared Johnny. Why the hell did I have to deal with Morgan? He asked himself. “Watch yourself Morgan. I have the power in this situation.” Johnny then walked out of the room, leaving Jack O’Riely to watch Jason.

“Mr. Corinthos?” Sonny heard the pilot’s voice on the intercom. “It appears that there is another plane on the airstrip. Do you still want me to land?”

Another plane. That couldn’t be good. “Yes.” Sonny replied. He looked out the window across from him, and sighed, praying that Courtney and Jason were okay.

Frank looked up as Johnny and Pac walked into the room. “We’ve got Morgan.” Johnny smirked at Frank.

Courtney could feel her heart beat increase with fear for Jason. Frank nodded, and the other two men left without another word.

Frank turned to face Courtney. He smiled, revealing yellow teeth. “You hear that? I guess that means it’s time for your final goodbye.”

Chapter 7

Courtney did nothing, just glared at Frank. “What’s wrong, girly? Aren’t you scared? Do you want to be killed?” Frank snorted.

He untied her ropes, and griped her arm. Courtney grimaced as he tightened his grip, and drug her out of the house. She made no effort to escape; she needed to know where Jason was first.

Frank led Courtney towards the back of the house. The night air was cool, and sent chills down Courtney’s spine. He led her to the shed behind the house; they walked past Jack and Pace, both standing outside.

They walked inside the dimly lit shed. Courtney could make out Jason’s figure, tied to a chair. “Jason!” Courtney struggled trying to get out of Frank’s grasp. When that failed, she elbowed him in the stomach, and ran to Jason’s side.

“Impressive.” Jason smiled at Courtney as she began to loosen the ropes, but before she could get far, Frank wrapped his arms around her waist, and lifted her up.

“Get the hell off me!” She yelled, kicking her legs, trying to wriggle free of his grasp.

Frank threw Courtney on the ground, and sat on top of her. Jason’s eyes flashed with anger as he watched Frank withdraw both his gun, and a knife from his belt. Courtney struggled as Frank held her arms and legs to the ground. He lifted the knife to the light. The silver gleamed, and Frank smiled at Courtney, then at Jason. “Say goodbye to your girlfriend. Courtney whimpered as he turned to face her, preparing to slit her throat.

Before he could, the back door was kicked open, and Sonny ran over to Johnny, throwing him off Courtney. He then began viciously beating Frank. He stopped punching him long enough to look up at Courtney, “I want you to take Jason’s gun, and go up to my plane. The pilot will take you to London. Tell him to call for another plane to land, and pick Jason and me up.”

By now, Courtney had untied Jason. “Sonny, I am going with her.”

“No.” Sonny yelled. “We need to take care of these guys.” Jason shook his head, ready to protest. “Jason! I promise you that as soon as we get what we need out of them, I will get you a plane, and you will fly to meet Courtney, but right now, just do what I say.”

Jason turned to Courtney, “Jason, I’ll be fine.” Jason looked at her, fear in his eyes. “Just promise me one thing…That you will always find me.”

“I will.” Jason leaned down and kissed her gently on the lips. He gave her his gun, and she ran out the back door, while he ran out the front to get the other goons.

Chapter 8

When Courtney made it to the plane, the pilot was waiting for her. “Where are Mr. Corinthos and Mr. Morgan?”

“Not coming with us.” He nodded, knowing better then to ask questions. “One thing though,” Courtney stopped him.

“Yes Ms. Matthews?”

“Sonny wants you to call for another plane to land, ready to pick them up.” The pilot nodded, as he returned to the cockpit, and prepared for take-off. Mr. Corinthos had already informed him to go to London, no matter who made it back to the plane. He first called in for another jet, then took off.

Sonny and Jason had the four men all tied to chairs. “So, what is it that you want with my sister?” Sonny questioned pacing in front of them.

“What do you think we want with your sister?” Sonny stopped pacing for a moment in order to bend down and put his face in Frank’s,

“Wasn’t very smart.” Sonny spit. “Would you like to tell me who sent you?” “Lex Roster.” Pace softly said.

“Idiot!” Frank yelled.

“Shut-up!” Sonny screamed, pointing a gun in Frank’s face. “Now why did Roster send you?” Sonny turned back to Pace.

“He wanted us to ruin Morgan by making him watch his girlfriend die, and ruin you by knowing you killed your sister.” Pace was looking at the floor, avoiding Sonny’s intimidating glare.

Sonny then turned back to Frank. “What he says. Is it true?”

Frank smiled and nodded. “Don’t worry Corinthos; I had some fun with her too.” With this remark, Jason jumped forward, and punched Frank. He fell backwards, chair and all.

“You want to say something else about Courtney?” Jason threatened. Noting Frank’s silence, he turned his back.

“One more thing, Frankie. My step-sister. Andie Hart, you know her?”

Frank laughed, “I killed her.”

“We got all we want.” Sonny stated, pointing a gun at Frank, “Now it’s your turn.”

Sonny and Jason arrived at the airfield to see that there was another plane waiting for them. “Where are we going Mr. Corinthos?” The pilot asked.

Jason looked at Sonny, almost as if pleading with his eyes. “London.” He stated. The pilot nodded, and headed in to the cock pit.

Sonny was startled by the shrill ring of his cell phone. “Hello?” He answered.

“Sonny?” Carly sounded hurt, and scared.

“Carly what is it?”

“Courtney.”

Sonny stood up in fear. “What is it…Is she okay?”

“Sonny, her plane…It…it crashed.”

Chapter 9

“No. No, this is not happening.”

“Sonny, the plane went down somewhere over Florida.” Carly was sobbing uncontrollably, trying to get out her words.

“Is she…”

“Yes.” Carly whispered. “They found two bodies. One of them was Courtney’s.” Sonny now had tears in his eyes. Jason looked worriedly at Sonny, waiting for him to finish his conversation. “They just called me with the results of the DNA test. It was her.” Carly broke down again, not knowing how to stop.

Sonny slowly let the phone fall to the ground. “Sonny, what is it?” Jason looked at Sonny, scared that something had happened.

“Courtney.” Sonny couldn’t seem to let out any more words.

“Sonny? What happened? Tell me!” Jason found himself yelling.

“She’s…Dead.”

Jason’s eyes widened with fear. “No, she can’t be. No. She isn’t dead. She isn’t dead.” Jason’s eyes were filled with unshed tears. “No.” He fell to the floor, sobbing, feeling his whole world crash around him.

Epilogue

She was dead. He had seen the DNA tests. Heard all the Forensics experts. She was dead. But all the proof didn’t matter to Jason. He had a feeling, like she was still out there. Screw the DNA test. Screw the experts.

He couldn’t do any work. He had tried, but his thoughts always drifted back to Courtney and the last promise he had made to her.

“Just promise me one thing…That you will always find me.” He could still hear her soft voice that sent shivers up his spine.

“I will.” He had answered. He had never broken a promise he made to her before, and he wasn’t about to start now. He would never believe that he had lost the one person that he loved more then anything in the world. He looked up from his sitting place on his motor cycle as a tear rolled down his cheek. She made him promise that he would always find her. “I will, Courtney. I will.” He whispered as he drove out of Port Charles.
