Summary: After Jason breaks up with Courtney, she finds out she's

pregnant

and battles more than her emotions to keep Jason from finding out about

his

unborn child.

Chapter 1

Courtney walked into the loft, still shaken up about what the doctor

had

just told her. The words kept ringing in her ears, "You're pregnant,

you're

pregnant, you're pregnant..."

She knew who the father was. It didn't take a genius to figure it out.

Jason

would be upset; she knew it. If he couldn't even let her be in his

life, he

most certainly wouldn't accept his own child.

Courtney's eyes glanced over the picture of the two of them on the

wooden

entertainment center. They were both so happy then. Until the accident.

Until Sonny got involved.

Sonny could never accept his precious baby sister to be with his best

friend. Courtney knew this from the start. Sonny was another reason

they

kept their relationship a secret. Jason and Courtney both knew Sonny

would

do anything in his power to split them apart. And he had succeeded. In

keeping his little sister out of harm's way, he had to break a heart or

two.

"Jason, why can't you just stand up to him?", Courtney thought as she

stared

at the picture. "Why can't he understand that we're in love?"

"Carly why are you mad at me? Jason made his decision. That's that,"

Sonny

said flatly to his wife. He knew that they had this argument many times

before. Too many to count.

"You forced him to choose between you and Courtney, Sonny! They're in

love!", Carly ranted.

"Jason knew the risks of staying with her and he didn't want to put her

in

danger," Sonny yelled back.

"Oh, don't give me that crap! You told him that he couldn't have what

you

have, Sonny! You have me and Michael! Jason has nothing! And they're

both as

miserable as hell right now because you forced him to choose!"

Carly was starting to lose her temper. She knew that Sonny was as

stubborn

as his sister and that he most likely wouldn't budge, but Jason and

Courtney

deserved to be together. She would fight until she died if she had to.

If

that's what it takes.

The Docks

Courtney looked out at the water. She was tired. Her eyes were barely

open

and she felt hurt and miserable and confused.

"No different than any other day these days," she mumbled.

"Hey Courtney!"

Courtney turned around to see Carly running down the steps towards her.

"Hey Carly," she said weakly.

Her sister-in-law pulled her into a hug. "Why can't I be more like

Carly?"

Courtney thought silently to herself. She's so strong. I can barely

keep my

eyes open."

"How are you doing?" Carly asked looking very concerned for her.

"Okay, I guess. How about you? I hope you and Sonny haven't been

fighting

about me and Jason again..." Courtney said.

"I will fight until you two are back together, Courtney. Jason was

never

happier than when he was with you and I won't rest until I see him

smile

again," Carly said.

"Oh, Carly you don't have to..."

"No, I'm going to," Carly interrupted.

"No, I mean it, you don't have to anymore," Courtney stated sadly.

"Why not?" Carly said with a puzzled look on her face.

"Well......
