Summary:After Jason breaks up with Courtney, she finds out she's pregnant and battles more than her emotions to keep Jason from finding out about his unborn child.

** I’m sorry I haven’t gotten this chapter out, I’ve been really busy. I know Ch. 1 was kind of short, so this one will be longer.**

Chapter 2

“Well.... Carly... I... I’m p-pregnant,” Courtney stammered. She bit her lip, waiting for Carly’s reaction.

Carly gasped. She couldn’t believe it. “Are you sure? Does Jason know? Did you tell h-“, Carly started, but Courtney cut her off.

“Yes I’m sure, no Jason doesn’t know and I don’t plan on telling him yet, which means you aren’t either, Carly!” Courtney said, feeling a headache coming on.

“Why not? He deserves to know!,” Carly retorted.

“Firstly, we aren’t together anymore. Secondly, if he won’t let me be in his life, even though Sonny told him to break up with me, then he sure as hell wouldn’t let his child be apart of it.”

Carly looked at Courtney. She could see the mixture of emotions in her eyes. She could see confusion, vulnerability, and most of all, sadness and hurt. Carly could see how badly Jason had hurt Courtney, even if he didn’t intend to.

Courtney sighed. “Will you please not tell Sonny, and most especially, Jason? I... I don’t want Sonny to get mad at Jason and I don’t want to hurt anymore than I have to,” she said tears filling her eyes. “Please, please don’t tell either of them,” she begged.

“I won’t,” Carly said. “But I still think that Jason should know. He deserves to know,” she said, putting her hand on her shoulder.

Courtney bit her lip. She could feel all of the hurt and sadness that she had been feeling since the day at the hospital, where Jason nearly died, where he was forced to choose, beginning to surface. She started weeping uncontrollably into her sister- in- law’s shoulder has she tried to comfort her.

The Loft

Jason walked through the door. A quick survey of the room showed that Courtney wasn’t here.

He sighed. The past few weeks had been hell for him. He knew Courtney didn’t feel any better than he did, she probably felt a hundred times worse. She had this happen to her before. She had her heart ripped out by AJ. And he had comforted her. He had helped her get back on her feet. And she gave him the most wonderful gift anyone could ever give him; she gave her heart, only to have it torn apart again.

Sonny was putting him in a really uncomfortable position. He loved Courtney. He had only been able to say that to her once. And she, of all the people he had ever met, deserved love more than anyone.

Chapter 3

Kelly’s

Courtney hung her coat up on the rack. Her face was tear- free, thanks to Carly. She reminded her that Jason loved her and would find his way back to her because of it. That only made her feel guilty. If that indeed did happen, she would have to tell him that she was pregnant. He might get mad at her from not telling him when she first found out. It would probably also push him away for good.

Elizabeth looked at Courtney as she came behind the counter. She was still jealous that Jason was in love with her, even though they had only been together for 3 months. She didn’t want to admit it, but she was also jealous that they both were hurt because of Jason’s decision.

“What are you staring at?” Courtney said irritably.

“Well geez, what’s got you all upset about?” she said purposely.

Courtney glared at her and said “Oh shut up, you are so pathetic that you think that by making me feel bad that it will get Jason back. Well, sorry, but he’s not coming back to you.”

“Well, sorry, but he’s not coming back to a slut like you either,” Elizabeth said coldly.

In a split second Elizabeth was on the floor, her cheek turning red from Courtney’s punch.

“Don’t you ever, EVER call me slut. If anyone is one, it’s you,” she said. Thankfully, Kelly’s hadn’t opened yet, so no one saw what had just happened. Courtney went down to the Cellar to get some glasses as Ric came down the stairs.

“Hey, Elizabeth, what happened?,” Ric said as he helped her up off the floor.

“Nothing, Courtney’s just in a really bad mood,” she grumbled, still wincing in pain. Courtney had hit her before, but she was even madder then. So how could she had hit harder then the last time if she wasn’t as mad?

“Jason?”

“Yep. I say she’s heading for a nervous breakdown. She’s looking a lot worse then she did a couple days ago. She’s probably just sick, like I would care anyway,” Elizabeth said going behind the counter. “You want some coffee?”she asked Ric, as Courtney came back up the stairs with the glasses.

She gave Ric a cold look. Ever since the whole trial mess, she didn’t really trust him. Maybe it was just that Jason didn’t, and he was usually really good at judging people. Maybe it was because he was on Elizabeth’s side. God, she hated her.

PH 4

Carly came in, still absorbed in her thoughts about Courtney, and how to get Jason back for her. She was too scared about him finding about the baby that she wouldn’t really give much of an effort to get him back, so she would have to do it for her.

“Hey Carly,” Sonny said to his wife, placing a kiss on her cheek.

“Hi,” she said. She wasn’t all that happy with Sonny right now and he knew it. That’s why he was kissing up to her (no pun intended).

“Carly, come on. You can’t stay mad at me forever,” Sonny said.

“Watch me. You are hurting Jason and Courtney so badly that you can’t see that you are pushing both of them away,” Carly retorted.

Sonny sighed. Carly was being very stubborn about this. But he wouldn’t give in this time. If it meant keeping his little sister alive, then so be it.“Carly, stop being so impossible. Jason chose to end things with Courtney.”

“Oh, come on Sonny! You are being such a hypocrite! You have a wife and a son and you tell Jason he can’t have Courtney?! She will always be in danger just because she’s your sister!” Carly yelled at him.

“And her being involved with Jason will put her in even more danger!” Sonny said back.

“He can protect her! Just like you protect Michael and me! Why are you being so controlling? Courtney is going through hell and so is Jason! You are pushing them both away! You have already lost Courtney! She made that very clear! Why risk losing Jason too?” Carly screamed.

(Sonny is having this flashback)

**Flashback**

“How could you do this to me?? How could you take away the one thing that means the most to me, Sonny?” Courtney said on the verge of tears.

“Jason chose to save your life, Courtney. He’s doing you a favor,” Sonny said.

“Oh yeah, by breaking my heart? I would think that after AJ you would want me to be involved with someone who actually cares about me! Jason loves me! And I love him!”

“Courtney, you may not understand it, but-“

“NO! I WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND IT SONNY! BECAUSE IT’S NOT TRUE! You’re married and you have a son! Why can’t Jason just be involved with somebody?” Courtney screamed at him.

“He can be involved with somebody, just not you,” Sonny stated.

Courtney scoffed. “You make me sick, Sonny. You are such a hypocrite! You know what? I hate you. I have NEVER asked you for anything, even though you offered. And now I’m just asking for some happiness and love in my life and you can’t even give me that!”

“You have pushed me away for good, Sonny. Don’t try and make me come back- you know what the only way to get me back is.”
