The Cellar
Mike: Hey. You know, if it helps
at all, you were a charming and beautiful hostess.
Courtney: Thank you.
Mike: But from the look in your
eyes, I gather you -- your charity event didn't raise as much money as you'd hoped
for.
Courtney: Actually, we -- we did
a lot better than I expected.
Mike: Then why aren't you on
cloud nine? Because you have no one to share your triumph with?
Mike: Honey, I -- it's not too
late for you and Jason. The only reason he is with Sam is because he doesn't
believe that he can have you.
Courtney: Jason and Sam are
having a baby, dad. He would never turn his back on his child.
Mike: Sweetheart, he's in love
with you. And there is no one more loyal than Jason. Now, I know that he's
going to -- he's going to work his way back, even if neither one of you has the
slightest idea of how that's going to happen.
Courtney: Has anyone ever told
you you're a hopeless romantic?
Mike: Oh. It's reality. Look at
Sonny and Carly -- the damage they have done; the ways they've hurt each other
over the years. And yet they still keep coming back to one another. I know that
you and Jason are going to work things out one way or the other because of the
love you share. I mean, you have a bond that no one can break no matter who or
what comes between you.
Courtney: Well, you're partly
right. I know that I will always love Jason and I truly believe that Jason will
always -- but, dad, that's as far as it goes. We can't have a life together.
Jason's life is with Sam and their baby.
Mike: And what about your life?
Courtney: I'm still trying to
figure that out.
Later…
[Courtney comes in yelling]
Carly: Courtney? Did you hear Sam
and Jason are going to be married?
Courtney: Uh -- hi, Carly.
Welcome back. Want to hear about the fundraiser?
Carly: Oh, my God. You look
gorgeous.
Courtney: Thanks.
Carly: I'm sure the fundraiser
was this huge success, but you know what, you need to focus or that little tramp,
Sam -- she is going to be married to your husband.
Courtney: There is nothing I can
do about it, Carly.
Carly: Oh, that little witch will
do anything she can to weasel her way into our lives, won't she? First she goes
after Sonny. She can't have him so then she goes after Jason, sleeps with him.
It's not enough that she wants to dangle his child over his head and control
his life with it? Let's seal the deal with a wedding.
Courtney: I don't think it -- I
don't think it's quite like that.
Carly: Oh, yeah. I -- I just -- I
don't get it, how she talked him into this. Really, she must have just
blathered on about -- about responsibility and fatherhood, knowing that it
would push Jason’s buttons. She's in for a surprise, Courtney, because there is
no way that you and I are going to let her do this. So the question is --
Courtney: All right, Carly --
Carly: How do we deal with it?
Courtney: Listen to me.
Carly: Do we confront Jason on --
Courtney: Ok, I am not going to
do anything to stop the wedding and neither are you.
Carly: Sam and Jason getting
married is a sick and awful joke. We have to do something to stop this.
Courtney: Jason has made his
choice.
Carly: Yeah, and it's got
absolutely nothing to do with love.
Courtney: Sam -- she's having his
baby, ok? Jason is committed to her, and I respect that.
Carly: Yeah, well, respect isn't
going to keep you warm at night. Courtney, you love Jason. He loves you, too.
Courtney: Jason's family is the
most important thing in the world to him.
Carly: And you are his family.
Don't you give up hope.
Courtney: What do you want me to
do, Carly? What, you want me to just sweep in and break them up? Why? Why?
Because I can? Because I want to get back together with Jason or I think I have
some sort of a future with him?
Carly: Yeah, because it would
leave an option open.
Courtney: God, Carly, what --
what's the point, ok? It's over, and we both know it.
Carly: So you're ok with it? Sam
and Jason are getting married, and you don't have feelings about that?
Courtney: Come on, of course I
do. Ok, it hurts to see Jason with someone new, someone he wants to build a
future with. It's hard to accept, but, Carly, that's my heart talking. My head
knows that this is how it has to be.
Carly: Are you sure? Come on,
there's no doubt in your mind?
Courtney: We've just -- we've
tried so many times. You know, I mean, we kept -- we kept putting off the
divorce and making excuses why we weren't ready to sign the divorce papers.
Yeah, we just finally have to accept that love just isn't enough. You know? I
mean, we live in two completely different worlds. It just -- it can't work. And
now Jason’s getting on with his life.
Carly: And it hurts.
Courtney: Hey, it'll be better
for you, you know? I mean, Sam has caused so much trouble in you and Sonny's
marriage, and now you two can work on -- on your marriage.
Carly: Maybe. Courtney, I love
Jason too much to let this go.
Courtney: Carly, come on. Just
let it go, ok? I have.
Carly: Then I am obviously talking
to the wrong person.
PH4
Courtney: Hey.
Sonny: Hey.
Courtney: Michael called me and
asked me to come over.
Sonny: Yeah, yeah, he's -- he's
worried about you. Come on in.
Michael: Aunt Courtney!
Courtney: Hey, kiddo!
Michael: Hey! Welcome home!
Courtney: Hi. Hey. What's up?
Michael: Did you hear that Jason
and Sam are getting married?
Courtney: Yeah. I know all about
it.
Michael: Are you sad?
Courtney: Well, a little, but I'm
happy, too, because Jason and Sam are going to have a baby, and Jason will be a
wonderful father.
Michael: Would you still come
over and visit me even if Sam lives in your house?
Courtney: I'm still your aunt,
and I still love you as much as ever.
Michael: Will you be lonely
without Jason?
Courtney: Hey, Michael, I'm fine,
ok? I promise. And you know what, I’m happy for Jason and Sam because they're
going to have a family, and you know how important that is. And you know what
-- Jason is going to need your help. And you can help him by being a good
cousin and by being nice to the baby. And I think Jason would really appreciate
that, don't you?
Michael: Yeah. He really would
like it.
Courtney: Yeah. Come here. Oh,
you're so sweet. Hey, isn't it your bedtime?
Michael: Mm-hmm.
Courtney: Yeah? All right, then
go. Get to bed.
Sonny: Go to sleep.
Michael: I will, daddy.
Sonny: Thank you.
Courtney: Yeah. It was sweet of
him to worry about me.
Sonny: Well, you know, Michael’s
just trying to make this right for everybody.
Courtney: Gee, I wonder where he
gets that from.
[Sonny chuckles]
[Courtney chuckles]
Sonny: Carly is not going to let
him go to the wedding, so he asked me to take his place.
Courtney: And will you?
Sonny: Well, I didn't want to go,
but then I realized, you know, we're all Michael’s family. He learns from us,
and, you know, we can show him how to be selfish. We can show him how to
forgive, how to make sacrifices for the people we love, you know? I just got to
put my anger aside for my son.
PH2
[Jason and Sam come home to see
Carly waiting for them
Carly: I hope that bridal shop
gives refunds.
Jason: Carly, you're back.
Carly: Yeah, and just in time,
because it seems like you're about to do something --
Jason: Ok, Sam, could you just
give us a minute?
Sam: Mm-hmm.
Carly: You know what, eavesdrop
all you want, because I have nothing to hide.
Jason: Carly, come on. Knock it
off. How was your trip?
Carly: What do you expect me to
do? You want me to congratulate her on trapping you?
Jason: That's -- that's not
what's happening.
Carly: You're damned straight
it's not. There's no way I’m going to let you marry her. She is a conniving
little witch, Jason, and you know that as well as I do.
Jason: Carly, please, just stay
out of it, please.
Carly: What are you going to do?
Tell me you're not going to defend her and tell me she's all sweetness and
light.
Jason: I'm the father of her
baby, and we're getting married, Carly.
Carly: You have helped me out
more times than I can count. You have always been the best friend, and you have
told me the truth even if it isn't what I wanted to hear. You've pulled me back
from the brink of disaster time and time again. Please just let me give you
that same favor --
Jason: No, don't do me any
favors.
Carly: Why won't you let me --?
Jason: Carly, stay out of this,
ok? Take care of your own marriage. You should be with Sonny, Michael, and
Morgan right now. You promised Michael he would get his family back, right?
Carly: I don't want to let you
throw your life away.
Jason: I'm not throwing my life
away!
Carly: You are marrying Sam for
no reason. Come on, Jason, just go back to plan A, ok? Wait until Sam has this
baby, and then just pay her off. She's a little gold digger. Give her $5
million to go sailing off into the sunset.
Jason: I can’t. I can't, ok?
Carly: Jason, you are a wonderful
father. And Sonny and I will -- will help you with this baby. It will grow up
happy. It will grow up loved.
Jason: Without its mother?
Carly: Sam doesn't even want this
baby!
Sam: The hell I don't!
Jason's voice: Take
and wear this ring as a symbol of my fidelity and abiding love.
Courtney: Jason, take
and wear this ring as a symbol of my fidelity and abiding love.
Priest: Having made these
vows freely and unreservedly in the sight of God and these witnesses, and
having pledged yourselves each unto the other, you are now joined as husband
and wife in holy matrimony, sworn to love, honor, and cherish each other until
you are parted by death.
Courtney: Oh, my God.
We actually did it.
Priest: That you
have, my dear. Jason, you may kiss your bride.
Carly: You're a real piece of
work, you know that? First Jax, then you chase after my husband, then you sleep
with Jason, and now you think --
Jason: Carly, stop it!
Carly: That you can drag him to
the altar?
Sam: Does it look like I'm
forcing him to do anything?
Carly: You're using your child
and you're holding it over his head.
Jason: Good night, Carly.
Carly: Well, wait a minute. I
have a question here. Is everyone going to ignore her past and pretend that the
two of you could actually work out? That she would actually be a good wife for
you?
Jason: That's enough!
Sam: We're getting married
tomorrow, so get used to it.
Carly: Tomorrow.
Sam: And there's nothing you can
do to stop it.
[Carly leaves]
Jason: You having second
thoughts?
Sam: No. Not at all. Tomorrow
night at this time I'll be Mrs. Jason Morgan.
