The hospital
Elizabeth: I'll let you know if
there's any word on kristina.
Jason: Thank you.
[Liz leaves]
Courtney: I hardly know what to
say at times like this. I'm sorry, jason. I know how much you loved that baby.
Jason: Yeah.
Courtney: So how's sam?
Jason: She's -- she's been
unconscious the whole time. She doesn't even know that the baby's gone. When
she wakes up, i'm going to have to tell her.
Courtney: You know, when we lost
our baby, you held me together. This time I want to help you, jason. Will you
please let me?
Courtney: You know, when you and
i lost our baby, you were amazing, jason. You were. I mean, I blamed myself for
what happened, but somehow you made it ok, like i know that you're going to do
the same for sam. You'll get her through this. But underneath all that
strength, jason, you're hurting, too. I mean, you feel things so strongly, and
you almost never let it out. I want to listen. Please let me help you.
Jason: Elizabeth said that, you
know, sam and I should clear out the baby's room together. You know, I don't --
should --
courtney: Yeah, no, elizabeth's
right. I tell you, it helps to have someone there, you know, to know that
you're doing something that -- I don't know, to acknowledge the depth of each
other's pain. Oh, jason, i mean, you and sam had months to prepare for this
baby, I mean, to imagine what her life would be like. You have to give
yourselves time to grieve. And it's going to take a long time, it is, but this
experience -- sam being pregnant, allowing herself to believe she could be a mother
-- it's changed sam. You know, the truth is it's changed you, too. I love you,
jason. I mean it, if you need anything --
jason: Uh -- I'm going to be ok.
But thank you.
Courtney: Ok.
