Harborview Towers
Brook Lynn: Yeah, here it is --
what you said -- Sonny Corinthos, right? Ahem. I left it in the lobby.
Max: He isn't expecting anything.
Brook Lynn: That's too bad
because someone's got to sign.
Max: Hmm. Not till I check it
out.
Brook Lynn: Fine. Have it your
way.
[Gun cocks]
Sam: We don't like burglars on
this floor.
Diego: Look, it's not what you
think, ok?
Diego: I was trying to impress
Sonny. Create a diversion, get past the guard, be waiting when he got home.
Sam: And that would make him, what,
like you?
Brook Lynn: Look, I'm sorry, all
right? Diego -- he didn't mean any disrespect or harm. So can we please go
home?
Jason: This has to stop.
Diego: Brook Lynn had nothing to
do with this. I got her into it, so just let her go, ok?
Brook Lynn: Look, Jason, if you
call the cops, my --
Diego: Jason Morgan, calling the
cops? Not a chance. You called Sonny, didn't you?
[Knock on door]
[Courtney comes in]
Courtney: I got here as fast as I
could. What's wrong?
Jason: Diego tried to break into
Sonny's apartment. Brook here served as his decoy.
Brook Lynn: No, look, it's ok,
all right, Courtney? I can explain everything.
Courtney: Don't bother. What were
you thinking, Diego?
Diego: Like I told them, I was
trying to impress Sonny.
Courtney: By breaking into his home?
Come on, you're smarter than that. What's going on? Do you want me to call your
social worker? Is that you want?
Brook Lynn: No, don't do that.
Diego: Do whatever you want.
Sam: Let me guess -- you've had
some bad breaks. Now you think you can do whatever you want, drag your friends
into your mess; shut anyone out who tries to help, huh?
Courtney: Why did you try to
break in?
Sam: I know it's not easy to
trust people, but we're trying to help you.
Diego: Trust? Trust? You were
holding a gun on me two seconds ago, and I’m supposed to trust you?
Sam: You know what? I am trying
to help you here, and it's not in my nature, so I wouldn't push me right now.
Brook Lynn: God, Diego, come on,
just tell them.
Diego: No.
Brook Lynn: No, please, tell them.
Diego: I think Sonny killed my
father, and he might be after me.
Jason:
Why do you think Sonny's after you?
Diego: Well, Maria’s been sending
money to Grace, my social worker, to get me placed out of town.
Brook Lynn: Look, we found this
out when we were stuck in Mexico.
Diego: Maria's trying to protect
me from someone dangerous in Port Charles.
Sam: Why do you think it's Sonny?
Brook Lynn: Because you won't let
Diego near Sonny?
Diego: And my father was involved
with someone dangerous around the time I was born.
Brook Lynn: Look, we don't know
any of this for sure, though.
Courtney: So, what, you were
trying to break in to find a link between your father and Sonny?
Diego: Yeah.
Jason: How long ago did your
father die?
Diego: 17 years.
Jason: 17 -- 17 years? Sonny
wasn't even in Port Charles at the time. He was still in Bensonhurst.
Sam: Can you look into it, Jason?
Jason: Yeah. What was your
father's name?
Diego: Javier Sanchez.
Jason: Yeah, I'll see what I can
do.
Diego: Thanks.
Jason: Let's go. [Jason leaves]
Courtney: You have a lot more in
common with Jason than I do.
Sam: Jason and I -- we might have
some things in common, I guess. I mean, he did help me through a really tough
situation, but you know what that's like -- I mean, you know, dealing with the
loss of a baby and all. Ahem.
Courtney: So, how -- how are you
doing with it?
Sam: You know, some days are
better than others. Seeing Kristina helps. So does being with Jason. Not --
well, not that I'm with him as, like, in a couple or anything. I really didn't
-- I didn't mean for it to sound like that. It's just that Jason is -- he's
here. He's present. He doesn't look back. He doesn't second-guess.
Courtney: Yeah, I love that about
-- oh, I used to love that about Jason. You know, I always second-guess
everything.
Sam: Me, too. Me, too. You know,
I -- I’ve been thinking a lot to myself that if I hadn't gone to the chapel
that night to pray, if Alexis hadn't confronted me and started yelling at me --
I know the doctor said it wouldn't have made a difference, but I wonder, you
know?
Courtney: Yeah, but you're
letting Jason help you, though, and you don't judge him. That's -- that's
really good.
Sam: Oh, trust --
Courtney: It is.
Sam: Trust me, I am -- I am in no
position to criticize anyone.
Courtney: You know, I started out
thinking that I couldn't handle Jason’s work, and that I -- then I switched it
and then tried to ignore it, but in the end I -- I couldn't take the violence.
But it doesn't bother you, does it?
[Jason comes down]
Courtney: Anyway -- uh -- I'd
better get going. Thank you. Thank you for calling me about Diego. You were
great. Both of you were great.
Sam: I'm just glad Sonny wasn't
home, and that would've, you know, been messy.
Courtney: Yeah, me, too. Bad.
Sam: Ok, I'm going to start dinner.
Jason: Start dinner?
Sam: Got a problem with that?
Jason: No, no.
Sam: Ok, then. See you.
Courtney: Bye. Anyway, thank you
again.
Jason: Yeah, and I'll walk you
out.
In the Hall…
Courtney: Ok. Do you really
think that Diego has anything to worry about?
Jason: You know, Diego is his own
worst enemy, not Sonny.
Courtney: Yeah, well, if you find
out anything, will you please let me know?
Jason: Yeah, yeah.
Courtney: Thanks. So you -- you
and Sam? I mean, she's the last person I would've expected, but you guys --
you're really great together.
Jason: Well, we aren't really
together.
Courtney: Still, she makes you
happy, even if you won't admit it.
Jason: Yeah.
