The Loft
Jason: You don't have to feel bad
about being with Jax.
Courtney: I don’t. I feel
wonderful. I mean, Jax is wonderful. He loves me. My life would be perfect,
Jason, if -- if I could just stop loving you. Oh, God. Look, I know that you
loved me. I don't have any questions about that. But somehow you've just been
able to turn those feelings off.
Jason: Isn't that what you
wanted?
Jason: Courtney, I don't -- I
don't really know what to say. Our -- our marriage didn't work. We've both
moved on. You're with Jax. You have been for months.
Courtney: What was I supposed to
do, Jason? I mean, we were already broken up, and you lied to me about Sam
being pregnant.
Jason: Are you saying that you're
with Jax because of me?
Courtney: No. God, no, of course
not. No, I'm with Jax because I want to be. But, yeah, in the beginning I gave
him a chance because I needed to let go of you. I -- I didn't want to be in
limbo anymore, you know, not with you, not really free in my heart. You know,
in a way, you did me a favor with that lie. You showed me that our breakup was
irrevocable. You proved to me that we couldn't go back.
Jason: I mean, we were already
divorced. I didn't -- I didn't do it to hurt you. Because I want you to be
happy. I want you to have a good life.
Courtney: You think it's a
mistake that I’m getting involved with Jax.
Jason: I don't like him.
Courtney: Why?
Jason: Well, there were things,
you know, that went down. I don't trust him. Sonny doesn't either.
Courtney: Sonny's convinced the
main reason Jax is with me is because I’m his sister and that it's some sort of
payback. Obviously, you agree. But, you know, you guys -- you guys don't know
Jax as well as you think. Deep down, he is a good person, Jason, and he's fun.
You know, "fun" isn't a dirty word. Life doesn't have to be bleak.
Jason: I never said it did.
Courtney: No, because you never
say anything, Jason. Every time a conversation gets up close and personal, you
just walk out of the room. You know, one of the reasons I enjoy being with Jax
so much is because he's the opposite of you.
Courtney: Jason, where are you
going?
Jason: I'm going home.
Courtney: There's a storm. You're
not going to get through. [He leaves]
[Knock on door]
Courtney: Who is it?
Jason: Jason.
Courtney: Hey.
Jason: Hey, I tried to get out,
but my car was blocked in.
Courtney: My God, you look
frozen. Come in. Can I get you some hot tea?
Jason: No, I'm just going to warm
up and call for help, actually.
Courtney: Jason, no one is going
anywhere tonight. God. You're going to have to stay here.
Jason: Are you sure it's ok?
Courtney: Of course. Why wouldn't
it be? Look, I'm sorry about what I said before. I wasn't --
Jason: Nothing good can come from
talking about that.
Courtney: Yeah, I should've
guessed you would've said that. I don't know about you, but I really need to
get to sleep.
Jason: Yeah, me, too.
Courtney: Good night.
Jason: Good night.
