Kelly's

Courtney: Hi.

Elizabeth: Hi. Any chance your brother's going to get out by christmas?

Courtney: I don't know. Sonny promised michael last night after they arrested him, but scott baldwin made it sound like there wasn't a chance.

Elizabeth: "As the hunt for prime suspect brenda barrett continues, sonny corinthos, with longtime associate jason morgan, are in police custody, charged --"

ric: Do you mind if i look at that?

Elizabeth: Sure.

Courtney: Yeah, you know, what that doesn't say is that the police showed up at my brother's house last night and handcuffed him in front of his little boy. As far as I can tell, they don't even have any proof at all. This is all about, you know, scott baldwin hating my brother and jason.

Interrogation room at the PCPD

Jason: Why are they going to keep holding us if they're not going to ask us any questions?

Sonny: Gives them an excuse to keep the cuffs on. It's not enough for taggert to drag me out of my home in front of my child. Now he's going to lock us up until our arms fall off. What happened with brenda? You didn't say anything.

Jason: Ok. I got brenda out of the quartermaines', brought her back to her place so she could grab some stuff and -- jax snuck up behind me and knocked me unconscious.

Sonny: Well, you know what? We got to give him some credit. He got brenda out of the country, you and me charged with murder, locked up away from my family on christmas eve. And I got to tell you something -- that's what bothers me the most. I promised michael that I'd -- I'd be home for christmas. Now they're going to make me a liar.

PCPD Lobby

Courtney: Sonny's in jail on christmas eve. Don't you want to -- i don't know -- tell him that you're thinking of him?

Mike: All we're going to do is fight.

Courtney: Ok. Then fight if that's the way you show you love each other. It's better than staying away.

Mac: Well, I assume you're here to see sonny. You'll have to go in one at a time. Let's go. Step in here. [They move into the interrogation room] Jason, let's go outside. Come on in, mike. Well, in the spirit of the holiday, I'll give you a choice. You want to be locked in the cage or chained to a desk? [Jason sees Courtney.]

Jason: Desk.

Mac: Let's go.

Mac: Taggert, i'm going to the hospital christmas party. If there's any trouble, page me.

Courtney: Merry christmas. [to Jason]

Jason: I'm sorry about all this.

Courtney: No. Don't apologize because scott baldwin has -- has it out for you and A.J.'S --

jason: No. Everything's going to be ok.

Courtney: No, not when you're arrested for no reason. Jason, you shouldn't be here, and neither should sonny. He should be at home with his family, and you should be at the loft with me, enjoying our tree.

Jason: I like that tree.

Courtney: Yeah, me, too. You know, I went out and i got a bunch of lights and decorations, and i was going to surprise you and have it all done up. But then i looked at it, and, you know, it's just right the way it is. Just one beautiful tree with one perfect ornament that looks like rosie. I couldn't change it.

Jason: That's good.

Courtney: Why good? What, you have an aversion to decorating trees or something?

Jason: Hmm -- maybe or maybe, you know, I just like knowing how it looks. I got that picture in my head -- that room, that tree, and you.

Taggert: All right, time's up. Let's go. Visit's over.

Sonny: Thank you for coming. I mean that.

Courtney: You don't have much luck with christmases, do you?

Sonny: Well, I mean, two years ago, i was shot and I lived. A year ago, I found out that i had a sister, and here you are now, coming to visit me. I think, overall, it's improving.

Courtney: Yeah. For me, too.  [Courtney kisses Sonny on the cheek.]

Sonny: Aw, that's sweet.

Courtney: Merry christmas, sonny.

Sonny: Yeah, merry christmas.

Mike: Merry christmas, michael.  [Mike and Courtney leave.]

Taggert: You're first, all right? Let's go. We're going down to lockup.

Sonny: Hey, my wife's coming to visit me.

Taggert: Really? Well, you know what? She's too late. I need to process you, get you downstairs before the patrol cars start bringing in all the --

officer: Taggert?

Sonny: You don't have a heart?

Officer: Call on line three. Judge weston's office.

Taggert: Don't move.

Jason: Did you call in a favor?

Sonny: No, I didn't. I couldn't reach anyone. I don't know what the hell's going on.

Taggert: I don't know about you, mr. Morgan, but i'd be a little dissed there. Your boss there -- he calls up a judge, wakes him up christmas eve, pulls in a favor, gets a letter of release, and he leaves you here to twist in the wind. Talk about loyalty.

Sonny: Are you going to get those paperwork -- that paperwork for me to sign or not?

Taggert: Oh, yes, sir, mr. Corinthos. Wouldn't want to get you a little tiffy there -- call your personal judge and have me up on harassment charges.

Sonny: Well, I don't know what's going on, but i'll get you released as soon as -- as soon as i can. You all right?

Jason: Yeah.

Sonny: You sure?

Jason: Mm-hmm.

Carly: Sonny? Hey. I'm sorry I'm late. It took me forever to get michael settled. I was going to bring you a present, but i figured the police would just confiscate --

sonny: I don't need any presents because i'm -- I'm coming home

Carly: What?

Sonny: Yeah. Somehow, i'm getting released. I don't know --

carly: Oh, my gosh, this is the best christmas present ever. Oh. So, what are we waiting for, hmm? Taggert, come on. Unlock jason. We need to get going.

Taggert: Firstly, jason isn't going anywhere. Secondly, you don't show me a little respect, neither is your husband. I want you to look these papers over, sign page one, three, and the last one.

Sonny: Judge weston is a friend of yours?

Ric: Judge is a harvard grad. We traded a few cigars.

Taggert: You also traded a few favors, huh?

Ric: Well, if you're implying that there's some sort of illegal coercion going on here, lieutenant, i'm afraid you're sadly mistaken. No, the judge looked over mr. Corinthos' papers, found them to be in order. He released him on bail.

Taggert: Totally legal.

Ric: At least as legal as sitting on the paperwork until the courts close on christmas, thereby extending the time the pcpd could hold mr. Conthos in the lockup.

Taggert: Mr. Corinthos isn't in lockup. All he's got to do is sign those papers and he's free to go.

Ric: Good.

Sonny: Hey, hey -- I didn't hire you to represent me. I didn't -- I didn't ask you to get me released. Did you?

Carly: No, but -- but who really cares --

sonny: Ok, you know what? Let me just -- you are not my attorney, ric lansing. I don't want you working on my behalf. If my wife wants to employ you, that's her business, but you do not represent me.

Carly: Sonny --

sonny: Wait a minute! Now, whatever I owe you, you go ahead, send me the bill. I don't want to discuss this again.

Ric: See, i was under the impression that you might not want to spend christmas in jail.

Sonny: See, i was under the impression that I told you to stay out of my business.

Carly: Sonny, can i speak to you for a minute, please?

Carly: Do you mind if i ask ric to help get jason out? Listen, it's not about business right now. It's about christmas. And I know ric overstepped his bounds. He did something -- I don't know -- ok, but he's getting you to come home. And I'd like it if jason was able to come home, too.

Sonny: I don't know about this guy.

Carly: I know.

Sonny: And I don't want you interceding for him, you know what I'm saying?

Carly: I won't, i promise. This is just for jason.

Sonny: For jason?

Carly: Yeah.

Sonny: Right.

Carly: It's christmas.

Sonny: Right. Hey. I want -- I want -- I want to see what you can do to get jason released.

Ric: Ok, just so we understand each other here, mr. Corinthos, you are instructing me to represent you and mr. Morgan in this matter?

Carly: Ok, will you please just, ric, do what you can to help get jason out? Sonny and I have to go home. Michael's waiting for us.

Ric: I'll make a couple of calls.

Carly: You ok?

Jason: Yeah, I'm fine.

Carly: Listen, I just thought ric could help and get jason out, so --

sonny: Well, I'm sure he can if he's as good as, you know,
says he is, right?

Carly: Well, just in case, merry christmas, ok?

Sonny: I'll get you out, man.

The loft

[Music is playing Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. Courtney is looking at their tree and crying. She moves to the couch and Rosie jumps up on her.  The door opens and Jason walks in.  They go to each other and kiss passionately.]
