The Loft
[Jason is trying to open the door and Courtney opens it and rushes into his arms.]

Courtney: Oh, jason.

Jason: Hey, what --

courtney: Oh.

Jason: What's wrong? What's wrong?

Courtney: Just hold me. God, i'm so glad that you're here. [They go inside and Liz leaves.]

Courtney: AJ hired a PI Jason, to follow me and and if this guy gets proof that you and I are together, AJ will take it to the media or to the authorities whatever will do the most damage to you.

Jason: No no it’s ok, don’t worry about it. I will take care of it.

Courtney: How can you, how can you say that? God Jason, I mean all I wanted was for us to find a place where we can be alone together. You know I didn’t, I didn’t think that it could backfire and be the reason you would be found guilty of murder.

Kelly’s
[Liz comes in]

Liz: Hey Penny, sorry I took so long.

Penny: No problem, you ok?

Liz: I’m great, thanks for asking.

Zander: Yeah, that may work for Penny, but not for me. What’s going on with you?

Liz: I just got a nice cold dose of reality thrown in my face. Life lesson Zander, when two people find any and every reason to be together but they keep insisting they are only friends, they are lying.

The Loft
Jason: Just you know what forget about Aj, he is not going to hurt you anymore

Courtney: Yes he can Jason, by hurting you, and that’s what AJ is all about. If AJ gets evidence that you and I are together, he can expose you and Brenda, which, that would mean that she can testify against you and if that’s going to save her from going to prison, whose to say that she won’t?

Jason: I do! Because she is not going to turn on me anymore than I am going to turn on her. Yeah you know what AJ hates me and I am sure he would love to see me put away or even put to death, but the main motivation for everything he is doing right now is you!

Courtney: Well he is wasting his time! I would never go back to AJ!

Jason: [throws off his jacket] Look we just, we just need to decide if we are going to keep taking the risk of meeting here.

Courtney: I don’t know Jason. I just, I’m just really confused right now. Right now the only way we can be together is in secret and maybe that’s a sign we shouldn’t be together at all.

Jason: [Pained expression] Is that what you want?

Courtney: No, no I mean, I don’t want to be the reason that you get in even more trouble. I just, if its safer for us to just stop than maybe we should.

[Jason walks over to her.]

Jason: I don’t want it to stop. [He moves closer, she grabs his shirt, and they share an emotional kiss.]

Kelly’s
[Liz is mopping the floor when Jason walks in.]

Jason: Hey, I’m glad you’re here.

Liz: That’s debatable.

Jason: I just a just wanna ask you a question.

Liz: I don’t have time to answer your questions.

Jason: Well I’m a just, well um, I’m following up on what you did for Courtney. It was, it was stand up warning her you know about AJ hiring the PI.

Liz: What am I supposed to say? You’re welcome? Will that make you go away?

Jason: You’re really mad at me.

Liz: Ohhh, you’re quick.

Jason: I’ll make it short. I just need a description of the guy or his name.

Liz: You know what? It doesn’t surprise me that Courtney went running straight to you. Big bad scary AJ is after me again, I’m so afraid and helpless. Please you don’t need my help to ride to Courtney’s rescue. Basically you don’t need me for anything, I got that Jason ok loud and clear.

Jason: Alright, I’ll just leave you alone.

Liz: You never change, do you! Don’t bother to ask what’s wrong, don’t care enough to try to fix it and for god’s sake don’t waste any precious time with your explanations. Just walk away!

Jason: You want explanations? I mean, I told you that there were things I couldn’t tell you about my business and you told me that you could handle it. Then you find out Sonny faked his death and got mad at me and said things could never work out between us, and you walked out of my penthouse. What did that say?

The Docks
Jason: Figure I would run into today.

AJ: I’ll get straight to the point. My testimony puts you behind the wheel of Alcazar’s limo the night he was murdered. My guess is you chloroformed the real limo driver, you then drove the limo to the hotel where you chloroformed the guard in the security room, why not it worked the first time. Then you turned off the recorder on Alcazar’s floor, pretty incriminating.

Jason: Get to the point!

AJ: I’m just illustrating how all this makes you look exactly what you are, a hit man, a hired killer. But on the other hand, if I were to change my mind, and realize I didn’t see you driving Alcazar’s car, it’d blow Baldwin’s case out of the water, you walk, free to be Sonny’s number one goon for many years to come. Now all I want in return is my wife.

AJ: I have made mistakes with Courtney, but I love her. And the only thing you love and your only priority is to your job and to Sonny. Now you like to play yourself off as a big hero, well here’s your chance to be one for a change. Let her go. You don’t even have to lie, you just make it clear there is no room for her in your life.

Jason: My personal life is none of your business. Courtney makes her own decisions. You lied to her and you stalked her AJ and I am telling you it’s done!

[Jason grabs something out of AJ’s jacket]

AJ: What are you doing? Things a little tough in mob land or what?

Jason: Your PI just quit. Don’t even think about hiring another one.

AJ: I don’t take orders from you.

Jason: You know what AJ, I have backed off of you for years because of Monica, and grandmother and Emily because in their minds you and I are brothers and we were, but we are nothing alike right now. If you hurt Courtney again, there’s going to be trouble. [AJ leaves]

Later…

Mr. Sepatine: You wanted to see me.

Jason: Yeah, I understand awhile ago you took an assignment to watch Courtney Matthews apartment and now you’re supposed to me following her.

Mr. Sepatine: I don’t know who you’re talking about and I don’t discuss my cases.

Jason: You know when AJ Quartermaine, when AJ Quartermaine hired you did he happenmention that Ms. Matthews was Sonny Corinthos’s sister?

Mr Sepatine: Actually he neglected to mention that.

Jason: Well now that you know, any suggestions on how we should handle the situation?

Mr Sepatine: I certainly don’t want any trouble with Mr. Corinthos.

Jason: Ok, that’s why you just quit and that’s why you won’t be returning any of AJ’s phone calls, and you won’t be available if he wants a statement from you, because accidents happen Mr. Sepatine.

Mr. Sepatine: As of now I never heard of Courtney Matthews or AJ Quartermaine.

Jason: thank you.

Kelly’s
[Courtney comes in]

Courtney: Hey Elizabeth. Listen thank you so much for warning me about that PI AJ hired me. You completely saved my life! So what are we closing early.

Liz: Nooo, I just don’t want anyone coming in while I tell you what a lying hypocrite you are.

Courtney: Excuse me?

Liz: Since when is your daddy Jason?

Courtney: You’re right, I was with Jason.

Liz: I know, I followed you.

Courtney: you were spying on me?

Liz: Your father called. Obviously you have been spending too much time with Jason to see him lately. Never mind the fact that you told me god how many times that there was nothing going on between the two of you, that you and Jason were just friends, or that he was only your bodyguard looking after you because Sonny asked him to. How many other lies were there Courtney, I mean was there ever really a stalker?

Courtney: Ok you know what I resent that, yes there was a stalker, my own husband. Liz: Oh right right, that’s right AJ terrorized you so you would turn to him and he could be the big hero! I could have told him myself that you would go running straight to Jason. Because you have been looking for an excuse ever since you laid eyes on him.

[Jason watches from the window outside Kelly’s]

Courtney: Alright Elizabeth, ok I can see you are upset and we can talk about this but you should to calm down.

Liz: Ohh no no, don’t don’t tell me to calm down. You know Courtney, you make me sick, pretending to be my friend, being all sweet and supportive when I was having problems with Jason. And the whole time the whole time you just wanted him for yourself.

Courtney: Oh my, ok, you know what, get over it! I mean it is a little late in the game for you to get all hurt and jealous. You told Jason to leave you alone and he did, that’s on you!

[Elizabeth slaps Courtney!]
