Michael: I will

Carly: We won’t be late. [They got to the door, Jason is there]

Carly: Jason.

Michael: Hi Jason.

Carly: You’re home? Why did you leave the hospital.

Jason: I’m ok.

Carly: Don’t you need to get some rest or something?

Jason: You going ice skating buddy.

Michael: Yeah.

Carly: Yeah we are going to a play date with kids form school.

Sonny: He will be supervised?

Carly: Yes Sonny.

Jaosn: You better get going so you’re not late.

Michael: I am glad you are feeling better. [He goes towards him]

Carly: Ok ok ok don’t hug Jason, we can’t hug him right now, so just blow him a kiss. [Michael slaps him five] Or that. Or that. See ya. Bye guys.

Sonny: Bye

Michael: Bye daddy. [They leave]

Sonny: So Carly’ s been trying to call you all night, because Marco said you took your bike out. I wish it didn’t have to be like this.

Jason: Yeah so do I.

Sonny: Maybe you should just take a couple days to rest.

Jason: Nsh it’s too quiet there.

Sonny: So does that mean you want to get back to work.

[Courtney comes in]

Courtney: Sorry I’m late.

Liz: Well I didn’t expect you to be here with everything going on.

Courtney: Yeah well I guess you were wrong.

Liz: I try to be nice and see what happens.

Ric: Aw cut her some slack she had a rough night last night.

Liz: Oh so she could take it out on me? I know I messed up by telling Sonny she and Jason eloped, but it is not my fault that they wrecked that SUV.

Ric: C – Courtney, Jason broke up with Courtney last night.

Liz: What?

Ric: Yeah, Sonny told him to dump her and he did.

Later….
Liz: I heard about you and Jason.

Courtney: Look I just need to get through this shift ok?

Liz: He did the same thing to me, if it makes you feel any better. What Sonny says always goes.

Courtney: I’m not having this discussion right now.

Liz: We both got dumped that’s all I’m trying to say.

Courtney: Ok you know what, I love Jason enough to fight for him. What the hell am I doing here. [she leaves]

Sonny: You know what maybe it’s just not a good idea for you to be walking around like this.

Jason: If you want me to work I’ll work.

Sonny: well I’m just saying if you –

Jason: The whole point that I am supposed to be doing my job.

Sonny: Yeah.

Jason: That’s all that matters.

Sonny: That’s right. A gunman opened fire on me and Carly. Ah he was shooting blanks. It was a warning from Faith Roscoe.

Jason: She doesn’t have the money or the guys to go to war with you.

Sonny: Well your cousin Ned is bankrolling her. She’s greedy, he wants revenge. Bad combination. I need you to let her know that if she moves again, I’ll stop her.

The Loft
[Courtney dials the phone]
[Jason’s machine: Leave a message]
Courtney:Are you ok? Are you at the hospital? I don’t know if you got my other messages but would you just call me back.

Sonny: you shouldn’t leave your door unlocked. Who am I to talk, right.

Courtney: Go away.

Sonny: I want to help you.

Courtney: Does that mean you changed your mind.

Sonny: It means I want you happy. Let me give you a life.

Courtney: Let me give you a life. You mean send me away.

Sonny: So you can start over.

Courtney: No you mean forget about Jason, but that isn’t gonna to happen.

Sonny: Well that’s what you say now, but a month, six months down the line.

Courtney: You think I am just going to forget the man that I love in six months? Why is that Sonny? I mean are you the only person who gets to be loyal? No one loves forever except you Sonny? Is that how it works?

Sonny: Ok you know what I know it’s hard for Jason but he doesn’t want to see you.

Courtney: That’s a lie!

Sonny: He doesn’t want you to hurt anymore than I do.

Courtney: So you want to protect me?

Sonny: Ye-Yes, what do you think I’m trying to do.

Courtney: There is no protection when you are left behind and you know it. There is only an empty space in your heart that never fully heals, but so what? You move on and if you are lucky someday you will find love and if you are even luckier that person will love you back. That’s what Jason and I have and you are not gonna to take it away from us!

Sonny: You get involved in Jason’s life it’s going to ruin your life. I’m telling you that right now.

Courtney: Why do you get to be married and Jason doesn’t? Why do you get to have a family and Jason can’t even see anybody?

Sonny: Not anybody, just you!

Courtney: I never wanted anything from you and I still don’t. God you are selfish. Sonny you take money from people who work hard to earn it and the second they try to fight back you make them disappear. But you know what you can’t make me disappear! I am not going anywhere!

Sonny: Go ahead and hate me, but at least you’re safe. And you won’t die in anybody’s arms. And you won’t get shot down because of Jason.

Courtney: Wow, wow you can control all that? I am impressed.

Sonny: It’s my responsibility to make sure you are protected and that you are out of danger! That’s all I am trying to do. You are my sister! Did you forget that?

Courtney: [crying] No!

Sonny: No?

Courtney: You’re nothing!

Sonny: What do you mean I’m noth-

Courtney: I don’t have a brother! Just go just get out!

Sonny: Is that what you really want?

Courtney: Get out! Just go!

[He leaves]

Later….
[Jason walks in and sits on the couch. Courtney comes in]

Courtney: You came back. I knew you would.

[Courtney sits next to him and he moves away]

Courtney: We can find a way to be together, I know it Jason, you know it too, that's why you came back.

Jason: I've just got to get my things.

Courtney: Why aren't you in the hospital?

Jason: I paid the rent on this place for a while.

Courtney: Who's taking care of you?

Jason: You can stay here if you want.

Courtney: Just stay today, just lie down on the couch. Jason, I'm afraid for you.

Jason: I just gotta get my things. [He looks at her, his lip quivers]

Courtney: Sonny wants to send me to college out of state.

Jason: I know.

Courtney: You know if Sonny gets his way, I'll leave as soon as possible. I'll start over somewhere else like we never happened. I'll never see you again. Is that what you want?

[He shakes his head and leaves.]
