Sonny: Jason? It's not a good idea for you to be here.

Jason: I'm here for Carly. I'm staying.

Sonny: I'm just -- I'm telling you as a friend that you shouldn't be here.

Jason: This is important to carly. She asked me to be here. I'm not going to walk out on her on opening night.

Later…
[Jason walks over to Court]

Jason: If it's easier for you, i'll just -- I'll leave.

Courtney: That's the last thing I want.

Later…
sonny: Jason? Did you see -- did you see carly?

Jason: She was with courtney a few minutes ago.

Sonny: She was but -- she knew i had to talk to her about something, and she disappeared. I think something's wrong.

Jason: Why would she take off without saying anything? That's not like her.

Sonny: Well, that's what I'm telling you. It's opening night and she wouldn't miss it for the world. She left. Something is not right. Can you go find her?

Courtney: You are so incredibly arrogant.

Sonny: Could you not do this right now, courtney?

Courtney: Did you know that the whole time he's been playing god with us, ordering you to give me up and trying to send me away, he's been cheating on carly?

Sonny: So that's what this is about? Carly thinks that I've been unfaithful?

Courtney: Carly saw you kissing brenda on the pier. So what happened, sonny? You and brenda got so hot for each other, you know, with your big, scary love, you couldn't find someplace private?

Sonny: No, it wasn't like that.

Courtney: God, you are such a hypocrite. Telling jason to leave me alone so he won't hurt me. What about the way that you're hurting your own wife?

Sonny: Ok, see, you don't know what you're talking about. See, carly misinterpreted what she saw.

Jason: Hold on. Tell me what's going on. Were you kissing brenda or not?

Sonny: Yeah, I kissed her.

Sonny: What happened with brenda is a one-time thing. I have not been unfaithful to carly, and I am not leaving her.

Courtney: So, what, you think it's better to just stay with carly and keep breaking her heart over and over again? Why don't you just admit, sonny, that love is just a word to you? You don't feel it. That's why it was so easy for you to take it away from jason and me.

Jason: All right, courtney, I want you to go.

Courtney: I will not.

Jason: Yes, you will. You and everybody else. Hey, charlie, that's it. The club is closed. That's it, it's closed. Everyone goes -- staff, guests. Everyone, out! Max, marco, help him.

Charlie: All right, you heard the man. Everybody out!

Jason: Go!

Max: Come on, guys.

Charlie: Come on.

Marco: Get, let's go.

Jason: I'm just asking you to leave.

Courtney: I don't understand.

Jason: I need to speak to sonny alone.

Courtney: If you need anything, call me. Or don't. [She leaves]

Jason: What the hell are you thinking?

Jason: You know, I would tell anyone who would listen to me how much you've given me. But I gave you something, too. Carly and michael were my family, and i turned them over to you because I trusted that you could make th happier than i ever could. I trusted that you would love carly and that you would honor her.

Sonny: I do.

Jason: You think it honors carly kissing brenda in public?

Sonny: It wasn't like that! Courtney and carly -- I guess they misinterpreted a situation that they didn't understand. You're supposed to because you know me.

Jason: I understand, sonny. Let's be honest.

Sonny: Fine.

Jason: You've been lying to carly ever since brenda came back.

Sonny: Ok, now I'm a liar. I'm a liar now.

Jason: Well, haven't you been?

Sonny: No.

Jason: Something's going on. I don't know what it is, but carly came to me right before i married brenda, crying, saying, "jason, he's going to leave me for her." I said, "no, carly, he's not. He doesn't love her. He loves you. Trust me"!

Sonny: I never lie! I love my wife!

Jason: How could you -- how could you let this happen?

Sonny: I don't seek out brenda. You don't understand what happened. I'm going to tell you what happened.

Jason: Tell me.

Sonny: Ok. I was on the docks. I'm fighting with carly. She walks away. I turn around. There's brenda. One thing leads to another. She comes to me. We kiss. Now, the reason I kissed her is because I needed to find out for myself, once and for all, and I did. It's over. And the fact that carly saw me kissing brenda kills me inside.

Jason: Well, I think that's going to be a little hard for carly to grasp right now.

Sonny: Ok, wait a minute. She's my wife. I hurt her. I have to fix it.

Jason: Fine. Go fix it. I'll wait here in case she comes back.

Sonny: Ok, you know what? I didn't betray your trust. Your instincts were 100% right. I love my wife even more than she loves me. [He leaves]

Later…
Jason: Carly?

Courtney: I -- i took a chance that you'd still be here. Is carly coming back to meet you?

Jason: No, sonny went to look for her. I'm just waiting here in case she comes back.

Courtney: Well, I'd like to stay here with you.

Jason: Don'T.

Courtney: Does it hurt you to see me, jason? Because it hurts me to see you, to know that you're in so much pain, and I can't hold you or make you feel better.

Jason: Courtney, just -- just go.

Courtney: God, jason. You're the best thing that's ever happened to me, and i'm not going to just let that go. And I realize that i may be fighting you every step of the way, and I know that there will be times when one of us will be hurt and angry, but I also know it'll be worth it because i'll be fighting for us.

[She moves towards him and touches his face, running her hand down his chest. He backs away.]

Courtney: I love you, jason.
