Faith’s Hotel Room
Faith: Well, you know I'm not a
patient woman. If you don't want me to take action, you'd better do it
yourself, and I mean soon. Fine. I'll try to wait. But I reserve the right to
protect myself if I have to.
[She fires a round of shots into
the closet, where Jason and Courtney are hiding. She then opens the closet and Jason has his gun to her head]
Jason: Move back.
Faith: Maybe you really are
inhuman.
Jason: No. You're just a bad
shot.
Faith: I haven't had as much
experience killing as you have.
Courtney: You're a sick
psychopath.
Jason: Court--
faith: Better let him handle it.
He's got a reputation to uphold.
Jason: Shut up!
Faith: Do your job. Go ahead.
Kill me.
Faith: Well, you have to kill me.
I'm a threat to everything you know.
Jason: Stop talking.
Faith: Make me. Put a bullet
right here. That's how you do it, right -- clean, easy? Is that how you killed
my husband? Oh -- maybe it would help if little bunny left us alone.
Courtney: Ok, faith, the bunny
thing is getting really old.
Faith: Mm-hmm. Well, that's
what's stopping you, right? You don't want to expose courtney to the facts of
life.
Courtney: Someone's going to make
you pay for this.
Faith: Not today. Jason doesn't
want you to see him work.
[Jason cocks gun]
Jason: Are you sure I won't do
this?
[Knock on door]
Guard: Security! Open up!
[Knock on door]
[Jason nudges Courtney to open
it, and takes Faith to hide in another room]
Courtney: Hi. Is there a problem?
Guard: You're not mrs. Rosco.
Courtney: Yeah, she's my sister.
She's in the bathroom. Did we do something wrong?
Guard: Well, we've had noise
complaints. Someone heard gunfire.
Courtney: Oh -- faith, I told you
the tv was too loud. We're watching "scarface." She can't get enough
of it, you know. Anyway, I forced her to turn down the volume after the big
shootout scene. I'm sorry.
Guard: You know, I don't remember
mrs. Rosco ever mentioning anything about having a sister.
Courtney: Well, honestly, we
weren't very close before --
faith: Walt, is that you?
Courtney: Faith, this nice man
here was worried about --
faith: I know. I heard. We didn't
mean to bother anyone. I'm sorry you had to come all the way up here.
Walt: It's no problem, mrs.
Rosco. You two have a good day.
[Court stands in front of the
door so Faith can’t escape]
Faith: Get out. Next time it'll
be me that surprises you.
Jason: Courtney saved your
life. [They leave]
Courtney: She almost killed us.
Jason: Not here. Come on.
The Loft
Jason: I'm not going to tell you
what to do or how to live, but dealing with faith isn't your job. The next time
she comes near you you need to call me or you need to get marco.
Courtney: Ok. But there's
something else.
Jason: You want to know why I was
at faith'S.
Courtney: You were going to kill
her.
Jason: It didn't happen.
Courtney: Hey. You didn't want me
to see you kill faith because -- because you were afraid if I did that I would
start believing what other people say about you?
Jason: This is my job.
Courtney: Yeah, but what I think
about your job shouldn't matter.
Jason: Well, it does to me.
Courtney: Jason, all I care about
is that you do whatever you need to do to stay alive.
Jason: Even if it makes you
afraid of me?
[They are holding hands]
Courtney: I've seen you fight.
An, I've heard you threaten people.
Jason: You shouldn't have been
there.
Courtney: No, I'm glad I was,
because I saw that you don't take any pleasure in your job. It's a burden, but
you carry it to protect my brother and his wife and my nephew, to protect me.
Jason: I chose this.
Courtney: Yeah, and you have to
do horrible things. But you're not trading on your soul, jason. I know who you
are, and I love you for it.
[He leans down to kiss her on the
lips and then the forehead]
Jason: I got to go.
Courtney: I know.
Jason: Thanks for what you just
said.
